The data is wrong for wages we are not earning well anymore and working way more hours to survive. 22 years ago that daya might of been correct where only 1 partner had to work. Now 2 people must work

Real estate is a lot cheaper here than east coast but things are changing fast

Unfortunately the real estate market for buying and renting has gone really high at the moment with a lot of demand. At one time the bubble won't keep increasing. So maybe be conscious of loan size. But I think the prices will keep on increasing for some time yet. A bit frustrating for home buyers who may panic and over invest in something. About five years ago the prices had been stagnant for some time because of the previous bubble, that while not completely bursting just led to prices not changing for quite a while.

A huge number of South Africans live in the northern suburbs from Carine to Ocean Reef or even higher... I know quite a number in that area and quite a few are from Cape Town and other cities. Then there is a lot of South Africans too in suburbs like Darch, which has Kingsway Christian College which is full of south africans, especially the Africaans it seems. But its a great coastal strip full of sporting clubs, beaches, surf clubs etc. Then for South African jews I think about 25 years ago a lot ended up near Dianella closer to the city near the synagogues and school etc.

I live in Coolbinia near Mt Lawley and lots of Jews from SA have migrated to this suburb and surrounds

@@tjcole6249 A lot of South Africans jews moved to the area around Breckler park and Yokine golf course about 20 years ago. Its basically Dianella on the Yokine border. It forced prices up and there was quite a bit of development in the area. Within walking distance from jewish school and various smaller centres for prayer.

Aus rentals sound so cheap compared to the UK (South England)! Looking at $725 for a 2 bed tiny apartment well out of the cities which doesn't include a place to park a car. Looking at London, you'll be nearing double that. Will still need to add on council tax ($100pw), water, electric, gas, etc...

Hallo Meg, thanks for your video. I‘m a South African currently living in Germany. We (my husband and I and out 3 kids) would like to move to Perth. We hope to find those friendly people and replenish our vitamine D deficiency.
Perth seems quite dry-more like Pretoria, is this tue or are there parts and especially suburbs that are more like Cape Town.
I am sure the city is amazing but I reckon it makes sense to settle outside of the CBD. Again, what I‘ve seen seems dry with little greenery is there a - to put it blandly- pretty suburb that you would recommend living in.
    Thanks again. Zandi

Thanks for such a sweet comment Zandri! Perth will be a whole heap sunnier than Germany 😂♥️ I used to live in Hamburg! There are a lot of pretty suburbs in my opinion - we are in East Perth now which feels more European than the majority of face brick homes in the more suburban parts of Perth. We also loved Fremantle for its history/cafes and access to beaches. There are also plenty suburbs on the river which are stunning like South Perth (reminds me of Greenpoint / Seapoint Cape Town). So you definitely don’t have to stick to the Pretoria-looking suburbs 😉 (there are plenty)! I have found there are definitely some more distinctive looking suburbs. I guess it comes down to an affordability thing as the more plain burbs are usually better value for money whereas the stunning ones like Applecross, Mosman Park etc are out of most of our budgets 😂 I really hope you manage to move if it’s what your heart wants 😍🥰😘

Yes 100% agree it’s ridiculous and so invasive how much information real estate agencies are asking for these days. I doubt many of these companies have strong cyber security, know the Privacy Act, and have cyber security insurance.

Everything is overpriced in Australia. Somebody some where in the world just has to sneeze and they will jack the price up and your left scratching your head and wondering what this has do with us. There is always an excuse, either valid or not, to increase prices.

Hey nice video... Ive lived in Perth for 47 years so welcome! A couple of things. Perth isnt always super hot. Dec to Feb are hot, and this year was extreme, but the rest of the year its not like that. Come June it'll be cold, like 15c max, 2c mins etc. We have your classic Mediterranean climate!
The housing issues are hopefully temporary, and a lot of that has been caused by mass immigration from overseas, but also from people from over east. Hopefully the east coasters leave, and rents will go back to normal;)
