You can hear the early band sound coming through with some fresh progressions and Todd's own unique vocal sound. The Ryche is back and I'm with them!
This should have over a million views
This is phenomenal! I loved Queensryche with Tate back in the day and now with Todd, the spirit of the band is back like old days. Thank you!
I can truly relate to this song! Such a beautiful song. ♡
I haven't paid much attention to them since Jeff left, but I actually like this.
Absolutely killer. Right on par with any of classic QR's best ballads. This one could have been on Promised Land. :D
best album the band has done since Mindcrime!
+Larry Mccarty well, Mindcrime was their last masterpiece, but "Empire" was definitely better than this and also "Promise Land" was also very good album....... but after "Promised Land" they started sucking ass until this new vocalist came around....... since this guy, they started doing decent music again, but still, from the best Prog. Metal band of their time, now they don't hold a candle to bands like Dream Theater and specially Fates Warning which has been for many years now the best Prog. Metal band in the world......
itkojecockot Sorry my friend, but to me Empire was the beginning of the downhill slide, Della brown wasn't that good, nor another rainy night, but then again, NO ONE has ever realeased 4 albums as great as the first 4 these guys did, so maybe thatis why Empire was such a let down to me. And while I also lovre DT and FW I thenk the band, with Todd is right up ther with them and lets not forget Flying Colors as well!
+Larry Mccarty well, "Empire" had a lot glam lyrics, but musically, I would consider it a masterpiece...... there are much better tracks than "Della Brown" song....... offcourse it's not better than "Mindcrime" cause it is impossible to make better album for them, but "Empire" still had a lot of great material....... and I wouldn't say they are up there with DT and FW since La Torre joined them...... I mean, Queensryche haven't released anything listenable since "Promised Land" til this album, while FW haven't released a bad album ever since they started out, offcourse they have weaker ones, but they never put out a bad album unlike Queensryche, so I wouldn't say they are up there with them....... plus "Perfect Symmetry" is easily the second best Prog. Metal album of all time right after "Mindcrime", not mentioning "The Ivory Gate of Dreams" is hands down the best Prog. Metal song ever made....... I could compare that masterpiece to Maiden's recent masterpiece "Empire of the Clouds"...... Queensryche doesn't have a track like that......
It's the best since promised land.
@mike cafano Just promised land
I'm a huge Queensryche fan. I loved Tate until he lost his voice and the music sucked. Finding Todd was a gift. He can replicate Tate, and has a more versatile voice. I love everything they've released since. This song can be compared to any of Ryche's classics. Todd is also a very talented songwriter!
what a track fantastic simply brilliant
The album that reset the legacy. Their stuff has been great since.
When I clicked on it I was in full screen mode & I didn't know which Queensryche it was, and I was like "Oh, no, a Geoff Tate ballad!" But then I thought "not bad..." Then I shrank the video back down and saw the comments. Jesus Christ, it's Todd!! lol You cannot tell that easily. Todd's been singing QR for decades, man.
I've listened to Queensryche since 1984 when they came out with THE WARNING. i had a lot of things happen in my life which for some reason or another seem to go along with the band and what it's trying to do. While I had THE WARNING in my tape player in 1984 I suffered from a severe head trauma. Since then my life has changed in so many ways some good some bad. Mostly good. OPERATION MINDCRIME
One of my favorite songs from the new album!!!!;!
I wish QR would have stayed in the groove of this album. It was amazing. Jimbo Barton is the man. This album could easily have come right after Mindcrime. It's that great.
Easily the best QR album since Dedicated to Chaos. Hands down.
"Easily the best QR album since Promised Land. Hands down."
There. Fixed that for you. ;)
DreamsGoneToDie Easily the best since Mindcrime.... you're welcome!
Larry Mccarty No way is this album better than Promised Land. This is ok...but not at that level......and definitely not better than Empire. Not even close.
FreeMTrider defiantly beats promise land!!!
Free, to me Empire was the beginning of the downfall
Best song on it, or I seem to find myself listening to it alot in my rotation
Great song
Beautiful song, sounds like goodbye... or beginning
Mmmmissed this kind of music! Welcome back!!!
When I heard this album the first time, it took very few listens to become a favorite. Hope you guys are doing well. Thanks for the great music.
Wow I needed that. This is the shit good job don't stop it does something to me its all good
I love this álbum, the band need a guy like a todd.
Shades of grey were the colors of my soul
Accepted miseries embraced for oh so long
The hands of time sweeping all my dreams away
Lost in a circumstantial maze
Moving on to another day
Searching for a brighter shade of grey
A somber silhouette displays the beauty of a dream
Until I realized your open eyes in front of me
You color my life with everything you do
And this open road only leads me back to you
Moving on to another day
Searching for a better way (a better way)
Seek and you will find the cure a blessing in disguise right before your eyes
Thank you very much 💟
This is easily the best song on the album. It might be the best QR song since Promised Land.
Best song since DeGarmo left the band.
Great song I'm addited
Very 80's hair band power ballad...... nostalgic :-)
This is just immense brilliant
This whole album is great. This, Vindication, World Without are my favorite songs...well the whole album is, really.
There are times where I can tell it's Todd, and others where it sounds like Empire-era Geoff Tate.
Anyone know the melody line tab or note progression? This song really kicks ass. Got the lead pretty good, just want the rhythm. Have not found a tab. Thanks!
I can't stand "50 shades of Grey", but I love the part when he says "the shades of grey, were the colors of my soul"
I'm pretty sure that "shades of grey" is just a common phrase. Symphony X had a song called "Shades of Grey" way back in 1994 - way before the book was even a thing.
AudioVandyls Sorry for my english im french
But even its a common expression i think its very great and poetic 😂
The song is one of the best from queensryche
I hope you will understand me😉
Don't worry, I can understand you just fine. & I totally agree, that's a great lyric.
wide open!!!
Been a long haul for quite some time !!
I guess late in the song those stratospheric high notes would have been a dead giveaway. Geoff ain't hittin' them notes any more.
PRO
Sounds good, but he is no Geoff Tate and yes it hears!
perhaps they can go on tour with journey and air supply
Meanwhile, TateRyche can tour with Quiet Riot and Hurricane. Oh, wait...two of his hacks were in those terrible bands. So in a roundabout sort of way he already is!
DreamsGoneToDie Or the Tater Tots can go on tour with the other egomaniac David Coverdale, who forsook a REAL band to take up with a bunch of "all stars" in order to make journey type pop rock.
DreamsGoneToDie fucking idiot
DreamsGoneToDie not so bright are u?
Considering that Todd and company won the QR name since I made that comment nearly seven months ago, I'd say I'm pretty bright. Thanks for playing.
No Geoff Tate
I miss Geoff. :(
i dont tate turn into a jerk!!!!!
yeah, think is weak!
Average, at best
Super boring
Mark Bowers you are totally wrong mark on this is not boring at all
WEAK….so POPISH!!!
