Naomi.
I am 71 yrs old today. What a great b/d present to run into on my day. I have danced my ass off at the Copa, Fort Lauderdale many many times listening to this song. It MUST be the best dance song EVER. it’s 2 AM now but I am gonna boogie tomorrow………………
The lead singer is singing this track to the Gods! I never get tired of hearing and grooving to this!
There will never be a ERA like the 70s or 80s. I am so glad that I was able to experience it.
One of the great “forgotten” disco songs. Absolutely contagious and fun. This is what a great disco song sounds like.
All in one week we lose Belita Woods and now Donna Summer. Talk about God collecting his angels for his choir. I loved this song back in the diso days and it still sounds Fantastic. RIP.
I was one of the lucky ones that experienced this song at STUDIO 54
one of the best disco tracks ever
The MOST underrated disco track of ALL TIME!!! Thank you Noah's Arc for getting the kids together!

We live in the perfect time. Music like this makes me grateful that I'm here to hear it.
This song wore us out on the dance floor back then. Miss those days. Music was amazing!

Love this song so much ! Man , I really wish I grew up in the 7O's . Music from my generation isn't too great . But this is great music right here . : ]

"THE EPITOME OF DISCO PERFORMANCE, LEGENDARY SOUNDTRACK"
Best dance song ever made!
Wow! What it would have been like to have boogied down at the 54! We had our own version in East St.Louis on 4th street and like 54 it's just a memory.
Best quality of my favorite song…thanks
Ahhh Sweet memories!!!! No music comes close to even measure with classic Disco..😄😄😄😜😎😎😎🙌🙌🙌🙆🙆💃💃💃💃💃💃👅👅👅💋💋💚💛💙👍👍👍👍✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌
liveeeee
Disco is such H-A-P-P-Y music!!! I hope it never dies, and that us old timers can help to keep it alive for the younger folks. Salsa music and dance continues to appeal to all the younger generations, but unfortunately it seems less so for disco. Disco needs a really good P.R. person! ;-)
I was 18 and I had just 'come out of the closet'... This was the first song I ever danced with another man to, Pat Haney from Dayton, Ohio.. The song was magical and it literally changed my life. Hmmmm, I wonder what ever happened to old Pat...lol
he's looking for you in Datyon, lol
Michael Smith beautiful choice
Beautiful story. thank you for sharing Michael. greetings your friend Joaquin.
Michael Smith música infsntil
ay dayton. another disco group
Prob my fav disco song I just can’t get enough 😩😩
So very happy to have experienced this era of music as a teenager. Like everyone else has stated, you would be soaked from your head to your toes when and if you ever left the dance floor. We had innocent fun back then. Man I so miss those days and would give anything to go back to those days.
You told the truth how well i remember those times....
Love this song!
It never gets old ❤❤❤❤
I just love this song, first time i heard was at Studio 54 in 1980 and it brings such a smile to my face, also had a hard time finding the song as wasn't really sure of the name, NYC in it's disco heyday.
Wunderbar, die 70er waren toll😄
still sounds fresh....my 12" is never off my decks
No auto-tune here, pure groove and meaning in lyrics and soul in the voice. It's called talent!
Thanks
Yes, people flooded the dance floors when this came on. I remember people with their own tambourines on the dance floor dancing to this!
This is the one that used to have the dance floor jumping....the bldg would be shaking on this one. People were wet from dripping with sweat that's just how crowded thedance floor was. Ms. Bonita Wood's voice was golden....very signature sound. Let the young put something like this out today if they can. The 70s and 80s was the best time to be alive....we had so much fun there are not enough hours in a day to tell it all.
Love love love this song 💓
Lord what memories this brings dancing at coconuts in Chicago. Those were the days when it was safe to go out dancing and partying all night at a club where it was gay straight and anything else. Somebody got a long. This and Don Rays Got to have loving are my favorite disco songs ever. And honorable mention to There but for the grace of God go I
Fan or no fan, this song gets the soul into everyone!
I fell absolutely head over heals in love with this song the first time I heard it. It was the summer of 1998, I was 14 years old, and I was just discovering that I had a true passion and love for disco music. The movie 54 had just came out in theaters, so I begged my mom to take me to see it, which she did. That's where I heard Lovin' Is Really My Game for the first time. 24 years later, and it is still my absolute favorite disco song of all time, and it always will be! 😁
this brings back memories
I REALLY COULD DANCE WHEN I WAS IN SAN FRANCISCO IN THE 80'S USE
TO WEAR MY SHOES OUT AND HAD TO GET A NEW PAIR EVERY 2
WEEKS JUST FOR DANCING AT THE CLUBS ETC.
Love this and it's a jam....think I need to learn it. Danced the night away at 54 to this back in the day! Thanks for posting. Shades of Jordache Jeans, and Halston perfume...Gold chains, silk blouses, Candies platforms...beautiful flowing hair...and your silver vial of Happy Powder...SO happy and blessed to have survived. Some didn't.

This song is so cool
Sadly, Belita Woods (lead vocals) died from a heart attack in 2012- age 63. I love this song, had a hard time finding it.
maybe her sadness.. how the music has DEVOLVED and this music has been left under-appreciated, forgotten..pathetic what drivel the music is now..her heart was probably broken by the garbage that is music now..Love this song Rest In Peace Ms. Woods what a BEAUTIFUL voice and song Bless You Forever!!
Naomi Jones.... The smoke is all yours...... Full Stop!
I had so much fun in my youth at the Disco!
This is my Jammmmmmmm!
Music to have a heart attack by...
Brilliant vocals from Detroit songstress Belita Woods coupled with clever lyrics belying the innocent "boogie-on-down" title. Their first TABU release, "Wake Up And Be Somebody" was a massive spin at the UK's Blackpool Mecca in late 1976-early '77, while this track went on to become well-loved on the wider Northern Soul scene, back when "fast stompers" were the order of the day.
NYC ruled in the 70s, sorry if u are to young, and were not around for the birth of club disco music in the early 70's.
In NYC, My generation invented this market!! The Loft, Gallery, Studio, Garage, Roxy, All successful artist today owe everything, and every dollar they have today to this generation..Get u some of that !!
Im going to a party tonight and this song came to mind
I feel you ppl we dont party like this no more.
Yes you got that right NYC had the best club's back in the day. NYC in the house.
R.I.P. Belita Woods. :(
Played at Clifton hall soul club tune
oh man i have the 12 inch of this...INFINITY!!!! RUNNING UP AND DOWN THE DANCE FLOOR..THOSE WERE FUN NIGHTS..LOVED THAT PLACE
They don't make music like this anymore.
Gaz Wood Well they bloody well should.
Andi Apple You are right; no, they don't
That’s for damn sure. I do t understand why clubs can’t rotate some of these hits in once in awhile.
That’s for sure!

Memories. I LOVE this song!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm happy I enjoyed my youth at the clubs.

Yes. Whenever the club pitched the first few bars it was pandemonium in those days. A long time ago under the lights of the banyan tree ...
