BRO! truly a DIY'er. Thanks for showing the ups AND the downs. when channels don't show this, it makes someone who is trying it themselves and they run into a problem very frustrated because that guy on RUclips made it look so easy.
I know you said you did how the book told you too but if you ever paint something again it’s better to keep spraying at the end and just come back at it. The starting and stopping can sometimes end up in blobs of paint spitting from the gun. But anyway this project is so sweet good job on the paint!
Looks mint man, for a garage DIY paintjob looks perfect, cut and buff can fix any imperfections left behind. Yeah leaving the tape behind is a pain to remove when the paint cures but the razor method is perfect for fixing that
I too just stumbled across this in my feed. Looks like the YT gods are in your favor Great job. I had a car that I wanted to repaint a couple years ago, but have since sold. The way you commentate and edit is great, I think if I had seen this when I still had my car, It would have motivated me to get going on it ASAP.
Just found your channel, I’m from Edmonton too. Great job on the paint!! I’m hoping to pull off something similar on my channel too. This will be helpful, well done sir!!
This is like deja vu... the nut on the top of my antenna was rusted in there so badly, I ended up hacking it apart just to get it out and mangled the opening on mine roughly the same way... I'm still debating if I'm going to keep or delete mine... I feel like it kinda adds to the charm of the car along with the pop-ups, but it could take awhile to source another one that isn't a complete wreck, so I dunno. I still have a destroyed hatch to fix from the OEM spoiler, so I guess I'll cross that bridge later. Also, blow through while welding on these cars sucks. The struggle is real.
Great job man! some time ago i discovered all s13s dont have black PAINT on A-pillars, it's a vinyl/tape thing like the black tape around some models. When i stripped it, i found original color, and was happy it was in such good condition
Not supposed to use sandpaper on hand, it makes it uneven. Next time use a pliable foam sander block to apply pressure evenly. Still turned out very nice. Good job.
Big improvement. If you do another car, hold the paint gun closer to the car. Your paint gun to panel distance was a bit too much. That will make your paint go on smoother. A good cut and buff solves the orange peel as long as you put on enough clear.

Great work.
I love seeing the evolution of someone's build the paint came out great 👍. This for sure gives me a push to do the body work on my car this winter.
