    Little confused on this Steel, they says it titanium coated for extreme hardness (for harder tensile strength knives) but its HRC is 66 like all the other fdicks steels. 🤷‍♂️ (??)

    Thank you very much for this presentation. We encounter various difficulties when it comes to cut meat. I have a question, how we identify the genuine honing steel or do you recommend specific brand?

    I am ttrying to find info about the coating it says 3000 Vickers but unfortunately no info about the coating.
    the PX 88 by Isler /Gieser has 2000 Vickers (which is less coarse) and sys Wolfram Carbide.

    Very interesting kind of steel, is that ceramic surface on a steel , how you feel it? .oOr it's titanium carbide as a isler px88 ( tungsten carbide) or Fisher bargoin titanium 2 ( titanium nitride) . Thanks for your answer.

    What is the hardness of this steel? I heard it is good for carbon steel knives, is that true?

      I have the dick titan, all F.Dick steels are 66 rockwell, I use this, followed by an f.dick regular cut with 2k handle and I have just ordered a fine steel.

    Which steel would be best for someone like me that works in a meat factory Im debating a lot on the titan steel and the multicut steel I can make my knives last a lot with the polished steel but I want to prolong the lives of my knives even longer

    • @cos2589
      @cos2589  4 года назад +2

      What type of meat are you processing and what's the longest blade you're working with?
      I really like the multi-cut for it's speed but it's best on smaller knives, 8" and lower. The titan is really aggressive, you'll need something like a sapphire cut or fine cut in addition to smooth the serations after using it (a polished steel will not smoothen it enough, and your edge won't hold long).
      Have you looked at the 14" sapphire cut?

      @@cos2589 I work with 6 inch Dexter Russell knives and process beef and the part of the cow I cut is has a lot of fat and yes I'm really looking towards the multicut and I going to look at the sapphire steel and thank you for replying back love the feedback!!!

    • @cos2589

      Glad to help, I would go with the multi-cut in your case. Fat will get into it's grooves, and you'll want a towel on hand to wipe it down. And a nylon brush (a toothbrush works well) to scrub it at the end of the day.

      Yep, though I suggest combining it with a finer steel to smooth out the microserations.

      i work on bovine hide, i use this titan maybe 2 to 3 times a day. otherwise i use the square orange handled combination. after the titan switch to the orange rough side then the polished side last.

    I'm using Diamond and find it pretty awesome. Basically I use F Dick Classic and F Dick Polish, sometimes when my blade is damaged by cutting into bone I will use Diamond
    Do you think i should replace Diamond to Titan?

    • @W0pper1997
      @W0pper1997 7 месяцев назад

      The diamond will deteriorate over time. The titan rod will last longer but has a little harder time on removing minor damages though. Its comparable to a ceramic rod
