    The last shop I worked at had the same alignment machine. The shop I'm at now has a state of the art one. To be honest I miss the old one. Good job showing the alignment process.

    Always adjust the rear first. Alignment racks base their measurements off the rear.

    Thrust angle. That's why you adjust rear suspension first and what cause the front to "change"

    You should follow the instructions in the machine.you start a alignment at the rear because the rear effects the front and you do toe end laxt

    Should always start in the rear, and always adjust camber/caster before toe on either axle. rear adjustments effect the front...

    I've always done the rear adjustments first, been told its important cause it messes with the front alignment. Sure Greg knows what hes doing tho

    • @gregoryhicks8902
      @gregoryhicks8902 6 лет назад +4

      You are correct! That may have been part of the problem. The next day I did it front to rear and everything was good! Until i hit full lock and realized the front was too low.... then I raised it and aligned it again lmao

    • @galapagosmonster5554
      @galapagosmonster5554 6 лет назад

      That's the way I learned. Rear first then front. Caster camber and finally toe.

      Hi Greg, not sure which model alignment rack you have but it looked like an older version of the Hunter software we use at my shop.
      The alignment procedure could vary given our racks use different sensors, however I can offer you some advice based purely on my experience with hunter racks. When bringing the vehicle on the hoist, don't drive it all the way forward on the turnplates. Drive it up to the bridges, with the tire as close as you can get while still able to center the turnplates on the hoist. From my experience, you shouldn't need to roll the vehicle back, and then forward again. The purpose of rolling compensation is to calculate your camber values. Once you've rolled it forward and chocked the wheels, swing for caster. This will give you your caster value and a more accurate toe value.
      In terms of physically changing your settings: Rear first, Front second. In this order: Caster, Camber, Toe. My guess for your issues after the alignment is possibly your rear steer ahead was off so you had adjusted the front toe to compensate without actually fixing the steer ahead first.
      Hopefully this helps! Thanks for the great content fellas.

  • @Tim82621
    @Tim82621 6 лет назад

    The reason why your front alignment is off is because you’ve changed camber in the rear. When you change camber your ride height changes (more then you’d think). That’s what offsets the front. That’s why you do the rear first :)

  • @ryanwolfe911
    @ryanwolfe911 6 лет назад

    You messed up Greg. You ALWAYS do the rear first, then the front. The front measurements are based off the thrust angle of the rear of the car, so that has to be straightened out first.

    • @ryanwolfe911
      @ryanwolfe911 6 лет назад

      You should always also re-center the steering wheel after making front toe adjustments and go back to adjust again. Very rarely will it hold center after adjusting it that much initially.

    Greg does alignment. Alignment is a bit off, Greg cries and puts Z back of the lift and tries again.
