@@mkayla_dilley Yes, I do. This is my third college experience, and by far it has been the most flexible. So far I've fished 4 classes in my program of study with GCU. On average, I spend 2 hours each weekday, Mon-Fri in the early AM during class work, which is s usually spent reading the lesson material and participating in the discussion forum. I also dedicate 5-8 hours total between Sat-Sun to finish the weekly assignments...So overall, for me it's commitment of about 15-20 hours a week. Of course this depends on each class, and how long a person takes to finish the work load.
the core class are eight weeks of my degree program that I am currently taking online through GCU. I agree that it is a very fast passed class, but I love doing the online class. Thanks for creating this video, there is some other difference, but I like your video.
I’ve taken a year online at GCU and the participation depends on the teacher. I’ve only had one professor who required 2 Dqs + 8 replies. Most require 2 DQs + 6 replies, and some only require 2 DQs + 4 replies.
I will start as a new student in gcu next week, this video helpled me a lot and answered all my questions that I had on my head. I have a full time job and mom of 3. English is my second language and I am new in the state, I am really pasionate attending in school to get the bachelor of science in health admin. I know it will be hard but I always remember its not about having time its about making the time. God luck to everyone
@@xGamerGuy I'm also a Doge holder, got in February. Good luck with GCU, my brother just started his first class today. I have another year and a half left, it goes by fast.
Man I have so many questions,m I’m so glad I found you!!!! I’m starting in August and I was wondering about the equipment you may need to complete assignments. What are their expectations for online students. And can you share an example on an assignment outside of reading and responding to others. How often do you film, edit etc. Is it more of a theory based program or does it have a good mix of hands on work? I have other questions but if you can do me a solid and answer these I’d really appreciate it! Thanks. Liked. Subscribed
Thanks and welcome to the channel! I'll post a video talking about these things in the upcoming weeks! Are you enrolling in their film production program?
Can you tell me more about time management or is there something I should read ? I really liked this ty I will be starting in about 4.or 5 most. I am in the process of moving to another.state!
I been a student for 3 years as an undergrad. I feel like the workload is not that bad. overall it's a pretty good school i think (i noticed the brazil flag on the background hehe shout out from a brazilian)
I go to a community college and am transferring to a university. Wanting to do an online Christian university. Is it easy for transfer students? Also read some negative reviews online how it was a scam and all they want is money and are hard to communicate to different departments like financial aid, is that true? Thanks for being so nice giving us information!!
I was in the same boat as you. After lots of research, I found GCU and transferred my credits from my local community college. I also saw some reviews online that concerned me, but everyone is in a different situation, have their own opinions, personality, and experience. GCU is the real deal, definitely not a scam. I'm 10 months in and my experience has been great. My counselors are very responsive. I suggest you join a Facebook group called "Grand Canyon University Online Students" if you want to research some more. Good luck!
Great video Im just getting out of high school and had a lot of questions about GCU. Did you have to change your work schedule around at all for lectures ? Is there any regular lecture time?
My work schedule is the same. There are no live lectures. The weekly assignments are mostly readings and writing tasks. They are due on Sunday, so technically you can do them anytime, anywhere, during the week. Overall the workload can average out to about 15h a week, but of course it depends on the person and their pace.
Are the quizzes monitored with a camera? I have heard another affordable online college will fail you if you talk during test and want a 360 view of the room while testing......
I also just applied to this school and I’m nervous about them accepting my credits I already have my associates degree so I hope with it being 8 weeks that I will be able to graduate quickly.
Classes are usually back to back unless there is a gap in your schedule due to low enrollment on a certain class. Otherwise I believe that if you need to take break for longer than 2 weeks you'll have to temporarily become an inactive student.
I am researching GCU and the enrollment counselor informed me I can take 2 classes at the onset if I pass them at 3.5 or better than I can take 3 classes each 7 weeks.
The discussion questions the 8 one for you class, can you describe it like do you need to have an in depth conversation or can you simply describe how you found there answers interesting, and does it have to be with 8 different classmates or can it be a discussion with one specifically
The participation posts does not have to be 8 different classmates, it can be part of the same thread or a combination of both. It does not have to be an in depth conversation, but it has to be a substantial post (at least 4 sentences or so, but it depends on the instructor, some have a minimum word requirements you must observe).
Do you recommend this college?
Yes, especially for adults continuing their education. Grand Canyon is a great school. If you have any specific questions, just let me know!
Do you recommend this college for people who have never attended college? I must choose an online college to best fit my schedule.

Can you get your bachelors completely online? I'm looking into computer science.
GCU offers an online bachelor's in computer programming.
I’m looking into their computer programming program as well. It seems like a strong university with a great C.S program
Thank you this was very informative
Other than quizzes are there any exams ?
During your time at GCU did you ever had to go to the campus for any reason?
No, never had to go. I have a year left. Hopefully next year I’ll be going to walk graduation!
Are the quizzes monitored with a camera? I have heard another affordable online college will fail you if you talk during test and want a 360 view of the room while testing......
No this is not the case. So far I've taken over 10 classes and none of them required on camera testing.

Hey how did it go for you?
Do they give you an opportunity to skip a class section so its not constant? Like building in a 7 week break or something like that?

How it is so far for you? I’ve been thinking transferring from my community college here on Saipan, CNMI to do Film Production online at Grand Canyon!
It's a nice school. My instructors have been great so far, and the online platform is pretty awesome. I enjoy it.
How much is online tuition?
How many classes can you take at once?
As a student of GCU in Digital Film program, you take one class at a time you can choose to do two if you like.
Thank you so much for this!
You're welcome! I just posted a new video today, Nov 18, with more information about GCU. I hope you find it helpful!
can you do it faster than 7 weeks

Would this college be a not so good fit for someone who isn’t very religious anymore?
This college is faith based but welcomes all kinds of walks of life.

Yes classes are all year long. The only break for online students takes place in December.
The Startup Channel do you have to pay extra tuition for the summer or is it all covered?
