- Newly minted Michelin-starred chef Arturo Rivera Martínez stood over a hot grill Wednesday at the first Mexican taco shop ever to get a coveted star from the French dining guide. El Califa de León is the only taco shop among the 16 Mexican restaurants given one star, as well as two eateries that got two stars. Almost all the rest are posh eateries. So indo european folks whos food has been utterly tasteless for centuries until spices from asia cooking techniques from other places alone with all the food from the new world arrived in europe like tomatoes chocolate vanilla potatoes avocados bean peanuts squash strawberries pineapples etc etc etc are giving us a michillin star this is ridiculous the only reason they are doing this is because time have changed who goes to a top star michillin restaurante other white people but this restaurnt food are not base on anything while tacos mexican food has heritage thousands of years old also the heritage from home cooking from our grandmother....

I just read that a tiny, no-frills taco stand in Mexico City with only four items on its menu has been awarded a Michelin star. Back in November 2018, I visited Mexico City. The pictures looked very familiar, and guess what? I dined at that fantastic establishment! 😂🇲🇽 🌮
I asked our tour guide to tell the woman in Spanish that she made our tacos with a lot of love and that they were delicious.
Chef Arturo Rivera Martínez, who has been serving customers at Taquería El Califa de León for at least two decades, was presented with the famous white chef’s jacket while dishing out his popular tacos on Wednesday.
