Dude imagine an onslaught map that takes place in the black garden, or a dread and taken one that takes place in the town square of a pyramid ship. Even one in the pale heart would be sick.
Future Onslaught maps would be awesome. However, Bungie has based Onslaught on the lore of “Oh, the Witness is just throwing everything it can at us right now to distract us.” But at the same time, we’ve got Vostok and Mothyards as maps, which I’m pretty sure aren’t anywhere near the Last City, or, at the very least, aren’t really a part of the City in the first place. So, I think Bungie should probably treat Onslaught from here on out like they do Dares: non-canonically in the sense of there are no story ramifications. Thus, they can make more maps that don’t have anything to do with the Last City being attacked. Like some have suggested, imagine a Black Garden map. That’d be amazing since I don’t think there’s even a Black Garden map for pvp (correct me if wrong, I’m not a pvp player).
The map Pantheon was in the Black Garden in D1, but for some reason it was moved to the Infinite Forest in D2. Side note, I miss the aesthetic the Black Garden had in D1 compared to D2. Felt more eerie imo.
As a dad gamer, I 100% agree with your position on crafting. The random loot chase has me jumping in & running Onslaught whenever I get a free hour or 2. Whereas previous seasons over the last year or 2 that loot chase was over after you got all the red boarders.
Yeah.. the Seasonal activities died for me as soon as I got the red borders.. and it made even looking at the rolls on raid loot pointless because you were just going craft it and get an objectively better gun
Ya, true... but there needs to be a balance. Like Rn I'm 32 hours of successful legend runs into chasing the mountaintop roll of my dreams. Nothing, so my will to do so is pretty dead.
@@AceInTheSpade thats always been the case in destiny though? if you get lucky.....then you get lucky? I don't understand how that's not just obvious.. crafting is great don't get me wrong but the whole point of a looter is the loot. and if the game just gives you what you want then what's the point?
The only big mistake with crafting is that they can become stronger than loot drops, and that they are for some reason even on par with adept weapons (and only with adept mods). It does irk me that the shinies are limited while also timegating half the weapons. Feels like a “they wanna make their cake and eat it too” moment on Bungie’s end. Either one or the other (preferably have the shines be limited, and all the weapons available out the gate).
LFG enough and you'll get people saying "reset for hive" lol... if Dread get added, prolly gonna see a lot of people resetting after a week if they're too hard haha. I say bring it on though I never reset. Waste of time.
Nah I think that still applies. We want it back mainly do to nostalgia. There is a reason Bungie picked now for them to return for sure. It’s a move to get people playing the game and interested in the final shape.
yes and no, they did it right before the final shape to atract more ppl, tbf i dont really mind i like them but a lot of my friends hate that bungie doing this
If they made it something similar then I would enjoy grinding for rolls. The old grind wasn't this way though with most guns having low drop rates and 12 perks in each column
As far as crafting goes, I think they need to change the way it works, but it can be good for the game. I think ALL weapons in the game should have the capacity to be modified once you get [3] Deepsight copies (maybe 5 for raids still). When I say modified, I mean like what we have for raid adepts. You can enhance the main perk combo (but you can’t change it) and you can pick the barrel / mag / MW. This makes getting the main perk combo you want the core chase, but the grind isn’t eliminated and you don’t groan when you get that major combo but all the secondary stuff is garbage.
Why not both? Shineys AND adepts in master raids and Trials. An adept shiny would be amazing even if it was only cosmetic as adept raid loot already has double perks. But I do like those adept mods and extra stats adepts get, though I guess that could just be rolled into shinys. I'd also like to see master raids get specific armor like D1 and Levi in D2. Make them look cooler with artiface slots, or at the LEAST give us unique ornaments for master mode. Hell, shiny armor could be a cool idea as well.
I hope Destiny gets to a point where you can open up the Vanguard section and you see "Nightfall" "Strikes" "Lost Sector" "The Coil" "Onslaught" "Exotic Missions" "Raids" When you open Nightfall, you get the featured nightfall with matchmaking... or you can select any nightfall without matchmaking When you open Strikes, you get the featured strike with matchmaking... or you can select any strike without matchmaking When you open Lost Sector, you get the featured Lost Sector with guaranteed exotic drops... or you can select any lost sector with normal rewards. When you open Exotic Missions, you see every single one listed without matchmaking. Each mission has an assigned season weapon pool drop table. When you open Raids, you see every single one listed with no matchmaking. Onslaught and Coil function exactly how they do now. Everything without matchmaking can be listed on Fireteam Finder to get a team. No need for Bugnie to constantly run a matchmaking server when FTF is so good and easy to use. Everything drops loot every time you run it, not just a certain amount of times per week or per day. (Raids/Dungeons/Lost Sectors/Exotic Missions/Everything) Sure, preserve the Deepsight drop economy by making them half as common as they used to be... I'd play destiny forever and love it since I feel rewarded.
As a dad who works for a living and plays maybe 6hrs a week, I completely agree that there should be crafting, but there's too much and it's too accessible as is. Mid-power weapons, like seasonals, are fine to be easily crafted. End-game Raid weapons shouldn't be craftable. Or should be harder to craft. And enhanced perks simply shouldn't be a thing.
Who would have guessed the mode we've been asking for for nearly 10 years would be extremely well recieved and work so well in a game like Destiny. It's almost like us players know what kind of mode we wanna play. Now give us strike specific loot on all new strikes going forward and a secret on the scale of Niobe or Corridors in Final Shape and they'll really start to earn our trust back. Maybe that stubborness to not give the players what they want is starting to go away.
Kinda disagree with your comment about putting shinies in trials and master raids. Adepts are essentially shiny weapons as it is, the only difference being they get 1 perk instead of 2 and can use the adept mods. I don't think having a random chance to get a different different shader or texture on your gun would really put more players into those modes. Big part of the reason onslaught is so bumping is because it's so accessible to everyone whereas trials and master raids can be very intimidating. I do agree shinies should be in more modes, and that onslaught (and Dares) should be updated and made into core playlists for sure.
dad of two, working 45 hrs a week 🙋🏻♂️ couldn’t agree more. take away enhancement from crafting and only make it accessible on shinys, which should drop from raids, dungeons, nightfalls and trails. Make them as rare as they are right now.
i never really craft anything in the game. i got only a few patterns completed. and those have either been given to you or just random seasonal drop. they should just let us enhance traits on normal rolls aswell that isnt crafted like they are doing with a good amount of weapons plus the brave arsenal
I would chase a shiny weapon in a raid even if the weapons were craftable. This is my only argument for crafting. The main reason to chase crafteds were to get 5/5 god rolls and get enhanced perks. In TFS, enhanced perks will be on everything. I would still grind raids if there was always a chance for an adept shiny weapon. I definitely wouldn't like to grind raids for one roll of a weapon that never drops. (It took me 8 full weeks to get Fatebringer to drop when VoG came back) I'd rather not hate the raid by the time I get what I'm chasing.
I think older stuff like whisper and zero hour definitely need to be in the game, not because of nostalgia but because I hate the DCV. I want everything back especially the rsids
crafting itself isn't hurting the game, it's more the way it's implemented is not optimal, it exists for a reason to curb rng cause in the end it is a LOOTER yes so you have to grind some but it's also a SHOOTER aka you want to actually be able to use your guns, the "grind" and actually getting a good roll to use should be about the same
crafting for the raids is cool imo because bungie only lets us do in 3 times a week and we have to worry about getting armor that we dont want past the 1st drop but the hard mode guns should be better in every way not just adept mods give them another perk slot for row 2 or a intrestic perk that increases dmg for bosses in the raid something that stands out and makes it far better destiny really needs to make the endgame activity's drop the best gear since the game came out raid guns have been underwhelming power wise i remember in destiny 1 the raid guns for each raid had at least 2 of the best of the best guns in that category and they had unique perks that where excusive to the raid not put on guns later on so people don't feel left out
and for the people who say they have no friends to raid with you are the problem ive been playing this game for 10 years and not 1 time have i have a 6 man group of people i knew grow up for most of the raids you don't even need a mic at all just a brain with thinking skills
I do agree with the grind aspect but I also like crafting. Now would I be jumping in joy over a perfect 9/9 godroll shiny , yes!!! 100% but if I got a 5/5 godroll to drop I’d be fine with that too. I believe you brought up a topic awhile ago about maybe after a year then incorporate redboxes into the activity. I like that idea and would be fine with it. I would also be fine if all raids and dungeons ( current and new) had craftable weapons in them. I look at it as the same really. I could do a raid 50 times and get the godroll to drop or do it 50 times and get the five patterns for a weapon. Either way there is a certain level of a grind factor. My biggest complaint for years has been that you can’t roll the MW like you could before. If just that could be implemented then I’ll grind my nuts off for a weapon. I guess my biggest thing from a crafting perspective is if you manage to get the patterns pretty quick then the faster you can play with that weapon. I do love a good grind but if I have an opportunity where its grind 50 plus hours/raids/ encounters and get the godroll finally or get five patterns in half the time, craft it and then play with you godroll for the other half. Well then I’ll take crafting. All things aside yes I’m enjoying onslaught and the changes and everything can’t lie about that. As someone with almost 7k hours I am enjoying myself more these past few months than I have the past year.
I've never understood why raids had craftable weapons, but not dungeons. I just think that's strange lol. I love crafting for when im super busy and I just want some cool new guns, because well: they're new lmao. But Ive always loved grinding nightfalls and dungeons when i have more free time for the loot thats not so easy to obtain. I think it adds a chase to it, just like shinies. I hate my rng for shinies, but the fact that its rare is what makes it desirable. Definetly agree that both have a place in the game, but i think crafting should be much more casual focused, and endgame loot should be random roll rng drops.
I don't know the actual reasoning, but I think it's a good thing. Raids are much more innovative in their mechanics and have more unique bosses etc unlike dungeons. So it's in bungie's best interest to have as many people play raids as possible. Dungeons not having crafting helps balance out the fact they aren't quite as resource heavy to make as raids because rng loot will make people farm them more. I think all that needs to happen with raid loot is craftable should not allow enhanced perks, only rng drops should. Also rng drops should come with a shiny ornament like the brave weapons for extra incentivization.
On the crafting, it should be more of a checklist to have a weapon of every element so that everyone can interact with the game in any flavor they want to try. Nothing there should be meta defining. Meta weapons and gear should come from endgame pursuits, but not be so far above the crafted items that they become nonviable options. Crafting should bridge casual & endgame, then those that want meta, min-max, one phases, or the strongest stuff, can grind for it. I like crafting a lot, it helps with the rng of the minor perks. Having endgame pursuits to push for is important. Cosmetic and otherwise
Also, less nostalgia stuff please. It's fun for like a couple of runs, but I'd rather have something new that is worth getting into. Exotic missions aren't ran for more than the few patterns and that's it. At least from what I've seen. I barely see anyone talk about the past exotic missions unless they've never done something in it for a pattern or something
Bungie should make solo playable raid if they don't wanna lose players.... Cause everyone should get all the weapons and Armors for the players who bought all expansion
The raid weapon crafting is such a bad take. Why would I do a difficult encounter to grind for a weapon when I could just farm the easiest encounter over and over again for spoils, finish the final boss and buy a bunch of adept versions for 5 more spoils than a regular. Just grind materials and play slots. That is what would happen unless you took that option away. You have that option right now but people stick with crafting because they CHOOSE not to play the destiny 2 slot machine that is rng. The option is right there, it’s objectively a better weapon using the exact mechanics you are advocating for. Why don’t you go grind for them?
Crafting didn't ruin the grind it exposed how bad and dated the randomly rolled system is. IMO, the Adept Raid Loot system for Root of Nightmares with enhanced perks is a great middle ground of random rolls and crafting. You still grind for columns 3 and 4 perks, and you can level and craft the barrel, mag, and masterwork. I know people with 200 drops of recluse still sont have the roll they want, and they might not get it before the activity is gone. I think its more the shinys that people care about.
I disagree with people are loving the loot chase. They're doing it just to get it done like a chore fear of missing out. And the other part crafting is one of the best things that came to the game, people feel like it's a choice like you have to do it. No one's making you do it you can choose to still grind and never interact with crafting if you want to that's the mistake that you're making.
@@Skarrow9 Yeah i can see your point, for you. You play A LOT more than the average player. You are in the top 1% or higher of PVE players. Should they could they make a game for you though or people that play even more?
Sadly true. Only half of the weapons at most currently have a place in either pve or pvp meta. Kinda works out though, any smart player will take a break for the month left of the season.
@@Skarrow9 I see where you are coming from. However you are wrong. Crafting isn't the issue, the issue is the weapons like adepts in raids need to be better than their crafted counter part, and with crotas end I'd say Bungie accomplished that. I also think there needs to be many more random roll weapons than crafted one. *Thank god for crafted weapons cause god knows I can't store all these god rolls in my vault.* In crotas end I didn't even bother with the crafted weapons, the adepts were better so I just went for them. Crafting isn't the big bad guy that's ruined everything, it's catered towards casual players and there needs to be a balance between causal and hardcore players, a game can't survive without both of them.
Raids are some of the most innovative and resource heavy activities in the game. Bosses are pretty much always completely unique, new mechanics etc so it's in Bungie's best interest to have as many people doing raids as possible. Removing crafting isn't the play because the largest population of people will be in favor of crafting because the largest population are more casual. They need to figure out a way to keep both crafted and rng weapons enticing. It's time they make crafted weapons not allow enhanced perks. Make the rng drops enhanceable only.
Bro whoever the guy was interviewing the people in the into the light streams needed to just chill. He was constantly saying 'ya' 'mhm' 'right' 'yes' like every 2 seconds JUST LET THE PEOPLE WHO MADE THE SHIT SPEAK FFS.

With how the community reacted to the unsunsetting of weapons it completely destroys your first point.
Yes, I like the grind for rolls, but ONLY because so damn many drop with onslaught. The regular grind in other playlists is absolutely awful imo
Shiny fomo weapons are good
Dudeee bring back the Raid Tierlist!!
No one's making you do it you can choose to still grind and never interact with crafting if you want to that's the mistake that you're making.
that’s just ur opinion i promise u i wouldn’t of even played any of those updates if the weaps were craftable
@@avasttt well that's good for you at the end of the day it's a choice but and that's part is a fact, not opinion
Leave raid weapons crafted. You could drop all of the rest of the crafted weapons.
Nah crafted weapons completely ruin the loot chase if raids imo. White box? Dismantle. Red box? Dismantle.
@@Skarrow9 Yeah i can see your point, for you. You play A LOT more than the average player.
You are in the top 1% or higher of PVE players. Should they could they make a game for you though or people that play even more?
Onslaught needs to feel like there is a real threat of invasion into the last city, waiting around every other wave ain't it chief!
Half the people will dip after getting the super black shader
Sadly true. Only half of the weapons at most currently have a place in either pve or pvp meta. Kinda works out though, any smart player will take a break for the month left of the season.
Sorry maybe a bad take but can we just replace gambit with onslaught honestly i rather have them but more time and work for onslaught then gambit
It's genuinely sad that Bungie gave up on innovating the PvEvP style of Destiny. They could do so much better than what Gambit does.
I think crafting is fine. Adepts just have to be better.
Crafting has single-handledly destroyed the PvE sandbox and ruined the loot chase of the last 4 raids.
*Thank god for crafted weapons cause god knows I can't store all these god rolls in my vault.*
In crotas end I didn't even bother with the crafted weapons, the adepts were better so I just went for them. Crafting isn't the big bad guy that's ruined everything, it's catered towards casual players and there needs to be a balance between causal and hardcore players, a game can't survive without both of them.
@@Skarrow9L take
Raids are some of the most innovative and resource heavy activities in the game.
Bro posts more videos during his vacation than normally. Take a break dude :)
Lmao. I knew I wouldn’t have the streams so videos were the only content I could provide. Hope everyone enjoys them
@@Skarrow9 Thank you for taking the time to this. Really appreciate it.
I love u skarrow 💕💕💕
who is loving this chase??
Bro whoever the guy was interviewing the people in the into the light streams needed to just chill. He was constantly saying 'ya' 'mhm' 'right' 'yes' like every 2 seconds JUST LET THE PEOPLE WHO MADE THE SHIT SPEAK FFS.
Bring back WoTM and then idc about nostalgia anymore
this whole week, i farmed legend onslaught everyday, and kept 0 weapons lmao, almost fall asleep playing onslaught lmao, it's just boring, farming what i've already farmed years ago and still getting nothing, what a joke 😂
Onslaught should replace Gambit and you can't change my mind about that.
haaahhh, i was first.....
FIRST RAAAHAHAH
