Their music and new albums that they have done never disappoint me literally Crash Love was amazing and a different style for Davey style it up with his hair dues and suits
To all who said "I miss old AFI", they kind of ALWAYS had a different sound with each of their albums. The only albums that sounded the same were when they were punk. I actually like the variety they give. I don't understand why people hate them.
Even on Art of Drowning (which is considered to be the last "Best album" to Punk AFI fans) had some stuff that sounded like it would have belonged on Sing The Sorrow. From The Days of The Phoenix: I fell into yesterday Our dreams seemed not far away I want to, I want to, I want to stay I fell into fantasy From Morningstar: Am I the star beneath the stairs? Am I a ghost upon the stage? Am I your anything? From Ever and a Day: Lie in comfort of sweet calamity with nothing left to lose. Lie in the darkness, I'm slowly drowned to sleep Nothing left to lose.
they didn't sound the same when they were punk, and btw that were their good days =D, and they were punks for a longer time than well this, they have more records being punk and all their ep's are punk
This song in particular puts an emphasis on how far Davey's singing has come along, while also staying true to their punk roots. Pay attention to how the song climbs up in tempo at the end and how Davey sounds different. Definitely one of my Top 5 AFI songs of all time.
I had a very passionate heart and mind at 17; I was so destructive but didn't realize it then. But I was powered by an insatiable, unapologetic lust for life. It's still there, now at 30, however muted. Finding a way to responsibly channel that lust into life on the whole has been interesting, and important. I appreciate this song's message on account of that.
Listened to Afi since I was 13, almost 10 years now and im feeling nostalgic listening to this, a lot of their fanbase as grown so much since the days, (any older fan may understand that) and I think they have understood that so much in this song and the video. hell, its a very new song but it makes me look back at all the pointless, beautiful and most juvenile moments with a retrospective bliss while appealing to a younger audience. I wish the best to this band in all endeavours. The Black Sails Have Sailed The Horizon...

So he likes boys and i like boys and girls that's allright he just likes what he likes even if he never admited or denied this. If you like a band you like their music and respect their private life, that's all you need to be a good listener.
I miss AFI so much its been 3yrs...*knock knock on their door* " Is any one home, can you come out and play in 2016 we need your music and art back into our lives"
Can't you guys just love the fact that AFI is still with us? :D All I care about is that I get more music and a wide variety of songs for different moods all from the same band! Started listening to AFI when I discovered Sing the Sorrow thanks to the FUSE channel and have gone on to listen to everything they have made and I love it all. Now if I could just see them in concert, my music life will feel complete! :D
I saw that! :) Sadly, their concert was in the far North of Washington or Far South of California and I'm the only closer at work so they wouldn't let me have time off. >.
Aimee Reyes I was there to see this concert in Dallas and was amazing! Sadly, These chicks next to me didn't know who they were. I told them to do their homework because AFI has been around long then both LP and 30STM
And, now that I read these comments, I finally got to see AFI in concert on January 23rd this year. The best concert I've ever been to. The experience was amazing! I got to hold Davey up while he sang "I Hope You Suffer". I feel complete and happy, now. AFI is even greater in my eyes now that I've seen them live.
@@natto6606 that tour was dope! I seen afi live twice that one I think in 2013 and the next time was I think the blood album around 2018 or so. They we so dope we were actually in the back of the venue and during I hope you suffer Davey like went around the stage around the crowd into the back and I was like right next to him for a minute or so lol so dope
Growing on me a bit I like when people have a lot of different looks. Shows growth. Confidence. Love and appreciation for different styles. I dig it. These guys are so fkin cool too and funny AFI my favorite band
I was a big AFI fan when I was younger, but they kind of fell into the background when one of my friends introduced me to a bunch of new bands that I fell in love with, so I hadn't heard burials until a few weeks ago. I heard this song while watching City of Bones and said, "this is a cool song! I wonder what it is." But, I ended up missing the title in the credits. I forgot about it and ended up going on an AFI binge about a week after to catch up on what I had missed and to re-listen to the rest of the songs that I loved. I heard 17 Crimes again, but had already forgotten it was at the end of City of Bones. Then, I watched City of Bones again with a friend who hadn't seen it yet and wanted to watch it with me and LOST MY MIND when I realized that the song I had thought was awesome before was by a band I already thought was awesome.
Recently started listening to AFI (I was a teen in the 2000s) and I gave their new stuff another chance, it’s pretty good, different than the 2000s but good
One thing I notice about this song when played at full blast this is one of their best songs I think I like songs from all of their eras. Myself I am more of a hardcore punk type of guy, but this song is just so awesome. I'm not sure if I have some bias towards it because of associated memories with this song but I just really think this is one of their best
Watched the film the other week and as soon as this started playing it took me a while to realise what song it was till I recognised who was singing and then I started fan girling and my parents were looking at me like I was crazy hahaa XD still in love with this group!!! Loved the TMI film wish they were going to make the second one though, not too keen on the tv series :/
I remember the first time I heard this song like it was yesterday. I was 17 and homeless in Mississippi and came across this on my local alternative radio station. Now that I'm 22 I can still say that I'm in love with poisoning
Havent listened to AFI since their earlier songs Miss Murder. Then about 5-6 years later.. listening to them again, they have insanely improved. They were good back then and still good now!! Much love!
God I love this song so much. Just saw them perform it the other night. I had forgotten how good this song is. I just love AFI. It’s been years since I had seen them in concert. 🖤🖤🖤
Amo está canción (aunque ya no sea el afi de antes ) pero me hace recordar esa época amada... Mi adolescencia ❤️ (el vocalista está como el vino!!!... Entre más viejo más mino)

What a great song. Afi is a great rock band. Davey is flawless as always. I like the experiments of this wonderful team, they are great. These guys are real professionals.
This song is just Awesome. No doubt it, i haven't heard AFI in a while. Their new songs are pretty good. Decemberunderground will always be my favorite album
*The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones - August 21, 2013* *Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments - January 12, 2016 - May 6, 2019* *It's been a great ride and awesome film & series.* *THANK YOU!!* 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
was listening to the radio and heard this, didn't have a clue it was afi, cause i was use to their older stuff but was glad that some stations still play this kind of stuff!
I love the New AFI, The Middle, and The Old..been listening to them since the 1990's...its all good...can't wait to seem them in the ATL on Sat....good music is good music...period....who cares how long someones hair is and all that nonsense.
Such a long time no seeing/listenning rock videos... I think I've loose myself a little bit on k pop but, now I remember rock will always be awesome♥ those were the good times :)
Why do people hate polished AFI? I find them more romantic and poignant than ever with pop sensible lyrics mashing against visual works like this. At first it just seems like a video of pretty model kids doing quirky things in the suburbs but up against the lyrical content it really creates a bitter-sweet portrait of teenage nostalgia and the longing for youth.
Chris Mowry Seriously. I agree with you. This song has grown on me, and, now that it's been 7 years since I've been out of school and I've been married to the guy I was dating since I was 17, I've grown to really love this song- it feels like it's my anthem of a sorts. It may seem like a pop-punk song, but, AFI always has very beautiful lyrics.
Chris Mowry You described it perfectly. Every time I listen to this song it makes me think of my teenage years, and the things I missed out on. If only I could do it all over again.
One of AFI's strongest traits is their pure quality of everything. They don't need fancy dressed up music with crazy synthesizers and freaky beats. It's all them.
So very true. You can especially see this when you hear them live. I just saw them for the first time in January, after being a fan for 13 years, and I loved how amazing it was. It was the best concert I've ever been to and I've seen over 30 bands in concert. Totally made me love AFI even more than I already did.
U guys should check out a show called shadowhunters. That is based on a book series by Cassandra Clare called the mortal instruments and it also has a movie now with the same title. Damn I am a creep it's okay though😎😎
I’ve been long fan of you guys ever since I seen you guys in Minnesota at the Best Buy store and this is got to be in the top three best songs you guys made
It's really great to listen AFI back again. When I first heard the song, I said: "oh, that's AFI"... and then I saw him and thought was wrong, and then, yes, I was right. It was kind of funny. But can't help feeling this song ain't like what they had us used to.
Depending on when you last saw Davey, I'd understand the confusion. If it was back when he had long hair, it's probably a shock to see it short like it is now. :) (And the change in sound is to be expected, too, that's really just what they do with each new album.)
Lin Lawly No, it wasn't when he wore it long. And it's not just the hair. I think that is everything. Still... they are AFI, and I'll always like them.
Hudeym Brit I get it. I think even just missing one album can be pretty confusing. I can only imagine the shock someone would've gotten back in the day if they missed Art of Drowning and went straight from Black Sails to STS... The progression is a little less surprising with AOD in between, haha. Kudos to you for keeping an open mind and not instantly declaring they're awful because they've changed. :) It's refreshing to see, I must say... I've always loved AFI, there's nothing they've done that I could say I dislike.
Lin Lawly It is good of course to change, it just took me more than a second to get it. And well, awful is a word too strong, and I'd never use it next to them. ^_^ Sorry, but, what does 'kudo' mean?
Hudeym Brit Kudos basically means praise, I was just giving you credit for not immediately denouncing AFI because of change (and I agree, change is good, and I know if they didn't change and made all their albums sound similar, people would complain about THAT.)
@@thecapone45 give in to this shit? You know they're straight edge, right? So you have to be a nerd to be successful? I gave in to the shit, had an even crazier 17, and owned my first house at 18. Bite me, nerd.
I really like the sound, and even the no makeup. To the people who complain about how they changed its called growing up and maturing. We as people do it every year so why not a band.
These guys have come along way since Eddie Picnic's All Wet ep , they've always been great and I can't wait to see what's next. It's been wonderful through it all.
I legitimately think this is one of their best songs.
You're not wrong!
Days of the Phoenix pt2
Yep, to be paired with Silver and cold
I agree 👍
My fiancee isn't a big AFI song but I heard her singing the chorus to this recently. Love it, great song!
This is best song of AFI! Who is here in 2024? 🥹
June
Me
Agreed
Me but I can't pick the Best of their songs 🤷♀Too Many for Me to choose from 🖤🖤
Ahoy Ahoy capn!!!! Right from Venezuela!!! F*ck yeah 👍🏼
Been an AFI fan for 20 years. And I love every "phase" they've gone through. They continue to grow as musicians and still an amazing live band.
Has your opinion changed with the release of bodies?
Their music and new albums that they have done never disappoint me literally Crash Love was amazing and a different style for Davey style it up with his hair dues and suits
I first heard this song on the mortal instruments: city of bones film and now I can't stop listening to it!!!
omg same!
I watched that movie for the first time last night, when it ended I was like "it's AFI"!!! And had to come listen ♥
SAME!!!! Immediately fell in love
To all who said "I miss old AFI", they kind of ALWAYS had a different sound with each of their albums. The only albums that sounded the same were when they were punk. I actually like the variety they give. I don't understand why people hate them.
my first time hearing this song man, it's still fucking awesome, sounds like AFI!
Even on Art of Drowning (which is considered to be the last "Best album" to Punk AFI fans) had some stuff that sounded like it would have belonged on Sing The Sorrow.
From The Days of The Phoenix:
I fell into yesterday
Our dreams seemed not far away
I want to, I want to, I want to stay
I fell into fantasy
From Morningstar:
Am I the star beneath the stairs?
Am I a ghost upon the stage?
Am I your anything?
From Ever and a Day:
Lie in comfort of sweet calamity with nothing left to lose.
Lie in the darkness, I'm slowly drowned to sleep
Nothing left to lose.
I miss the old AFI
they didn't sound the same when they were punk, and btw that were their good days =D, and they were punks for a longer time than well this, they have more records being punk and all their ep's are punk
yeah, but my point is NONE of their albums sound the same. They all have different sounds and styles to them.
I love this song so much. Nostalgic, yet still fresh after all these years.
Fuck dude, this song is like 10 years old. I still remember hearing this and getting excited for new AFI
I can’t recall a music video that matched so perfectly with the atmosphere of the music. Really amazing piece of art right here.
Anyone that is older then 17 should ALWAYS love and have emotions like when they WERE seventeen.
This song in particular puts an emphasis on how far Davey's singing has come along, while also staying true to their punk roots. Pay attention to how the song climbs up in tempo at the end and how Davey sounds different. Definitely one of my Top 5 AFI songs of all time.
I noticed that too ❤
I had a very passionate heart and mind at 17; I was so destructive but didn't realize it then. But I was powered by an insatiable, unapologetic lust for life. It's still there, now at 30, however muted. Finding a way to responsibly channel that lust into life on the whole has been interesting, and important. I loved this comment as I could totally relate. 👍🏻❤️

Same feeling!

Allen Lendzion yup... fixed...
14 years later, I'm still able to listen to AFI with as much ease now, as i was back in 2001. One of my favorite bands of all time.
This song brings out feelings I can't even begin to explain.

The Black Sails Have Sailed The Horizon...
Buriels was one of the greatest rock albums EVER.
As usual it seems this song has a lot further meaning then just the catchy lyrics, one of the reasons I love Davey as a vocalist.

UndeadFlygon This song is played at the end of THE MOVIE and it's on the soundtrack.

I have always been, and probably always will be in love with the guitarist of this band haha. Like damn. cx
+Tatum Blackman his name is jade fyi
I know haha. cx I will always love Jade. Amazing guitarist. c:
Good job afi you sound exactly like every other soulless band on the radio now
It's called change bro.... And it sucks big time.
if you say so, man. still awesome guys and still driven to play music until physically unable to (their words), i don't think that's lack of soul.
and you can't judge a single, anyway! lol. anyone can talk shit about a single!
So? They were doing it first.
I'm 19... But this song for sure makes me sentimental in a certain kind of way. Love it already!
*The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones - August 21, 2013*

wow. this reminds me a LOT of further seems forever. AFI definitely have changed their sound!
Lighten up people, one video doesn't define the band's image. Love the song, love the video, loved it in City of Bones!
was listening to the radio and heard this, didn't have a clue it was afi, cause i was use to their older stuff but was glad that some stations still play this kind of stuff!
Love AFI & love this song, brings me back to the 80s. Just saw them live 2nite & they were awesome.
Such a great song...
I absolutely love this album! I think I've listened to it at least 1000 times since it came out. Davey looks so good, I love his hair like that
I adore this song and video clip. It's so exciting to me!
who miss their teenagehood while listening to this song?😂😂
I'm in looooove with this song ! Thanks to The Mortal Instrument *-* ❤️
I've been a fan of AFI for a very long time. Ever since, hm about sixth or seventh grade. I'm glad I haven't let go of them yet. Good shit right here.
Love this song! Saw AFI on The Carnivores Tour and fell in love! Davey is amazing!!
Brings many memories, both good and bad…
Mortal instruments !!! ♥♥
Chris Mowry Amen dude! Amen. :)
Totally made me love AFI even more than I already did.
the mortal instruments♥
now this is some heavy metal stuff...Rock on! AFI is back
This song brings up a lot of emotions, like wow. I love AFI, both "old" AFI and "New" AFI. They're amazing. But damn their music...
Urg their sound changed along time ago trust me I've been into these guys from the beginning Sooooo answer that and stay fashionable!
Awwww the mortal instruments!!!!!
U guys should check out a show called shadowhunters. That is based on a book series by Cassandra Clare called the mortal instruments and it also has a movie now with the same title.
Damn I am a creep it's okay though😎😎
If I'm being completely honest I heard this song from The Mortal Instruments but I'm so glad I did, I love this song so much.
I’ve been long fan of you guys ever since I seen you guys in Minnesota at the Best Buy store and this is got to be in the top three best songs you guys made
Can't wait for a new album. Everything they do is flawless to me. Every time they come out with a new album, I fall in love all over again.
Realmente morí cuando escuche esta canción al final de la película de Cazadores de Sombras.
Good evolution through the years. I like it 'then and now'.
The Mortal Instruments... can't blame me for seeking good music like this in such great movies like The Mortal Instruments.
i used to hear their songs on those much big shiney tunes cds back in the day?
The Mortal Instruments
miss old afi..
So...Shadow Hunters: City of Bones brought me here
Yeah, me too. Good movie
@@emrisrex and TV series.
Yessssssssssss😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
RW:Me too
Same😂here
It's really great to listen AFI back again.
My man love this band so much . Now , I am started to love AFI .
Davey will always be gorgeous~
Turning 17 tomorrow, woot woot!
Gavin Felan Your life is not going to be anywhere near that awesome. Letting you know now.
Yeah dude even when your 18
Life will be like that when your 21
+luna so true lol
If this is 17 wtf did I do with my life
I'm asking myself the same question :D
but I love the feelings
obey
Idk. But I didn’t give into this shit and I got scholarships and was a “nerd” and now I’ve got $100,000 invested and I’m only 23. Lol.
My 17 was a bit more wild.
When I was younger I loved the punk tone they had going and as I'm older now, I appreciate the new style they've taken on. I love afi
This AFI is far better than the early Misfits and Offspring cover band they started as.
Ahhh 17. Bullied and working out in my room
Good times
