One of my favorite Lennon songs. Out of the hundreds that have a reserved place in my heart. Thank you for this wonderful lesson. My eyes are starting to tear up... my father and I share a very special bond through his music as a Beatle and as a solo artist. May he rest in peace.
What I love best about your playing is how complex the finger styling is yet does not step on the vocals if you were to play this as a duo! Well done!... Nothing less than... Well done! Sean
Can I just take a minute here - I'm about halfway through the fingering for this arrangement and I gotta tell ya this is a gorgeous arrangement of a good song. The flow and ringing tones, albeit hard to execute, are freakin' awesome. Your guitar playing is excellent but your arrangements are beautiful. Thank you, thank you. You're the best Andy. P.S. the pace of your lessons is spot on. What a great teacher.
You're a thorough and great teacher. Your playing radiates smooth beautiful comfort. I have spent hours so far, studying this song.., With your help; I can tell I'm getting there, and its all thanks to your down to earth and efficient teaching style!
Very sweet arrangement. I agree the intro is special on this tune. Challenging to learn this one but worth it. Very clever how you use lighting, frame, & black shirt & background to highlight and keep the focus on your hands throughout. I enjoy these efficient quality lessons very much.
Very sweet arrangement Andy - and great insight into the "evolution" of the song. You are always very thorough with your lessons, so I've come to expect the very highest standard from you and you haven't ever disappointed me yet. I guess you have spoiled your listeners with perfection. Fantastic job!
I absolutely love the steady pace you hold up in your lessons. Just perfect for intermediate players to follow along. Keep up the awesome work man, these lessons are really some treats!
The sound of the Taylor is my favorite acoustic sound. They ring like a bell. I will NEVER bring my Taylor outside. I actually will take my Martin out first...lol but that aint gonna happen either! I have a nice Yamaha that I take to play outdoors. Andy your arrangement is unbelievable!! It is so beautiful, and covers both the melody and the chord progression with the way you have done it. I am not the master that you are in fingerpicking. I get by, but this will take some time to learn, if I even do it. I know the song as I learned it with strumming, and arpeggio picking. So when I heard this ,I was Floored!! You are the man Andy! Your lessons are so spot on, you never miss a note! Thank you man.
Thank you for this lesson. I knew but did not notice this song until I heard the bluesy Casey James version as a guitar only arrangement, and yours has a similar feeling. Much appreciated!
I don’t normally like to request lessons, especially from someone as giving to us as yourself; but I would really like to see a lesson on Snortin’ Whiskey by Pat Travers. I haven’t really been able to find really any lessons on the song and it’s something that I’ve wanted to learn for a while now. Thank you so much for all of these amazing lessons, sir. I’ve learned so much from you. 🤘🏻
Wow! Thanks so much for this. One of my favourite songs. I'm certainly no pro guitarist so I can't believe I'm actually playing this. Hitting all of those notes you said not to hit but I don't even care. Still sounds like the song. You're the man
“Child of Nature” is the original conception of this incredible tune. He then changed the lyrics and dedicated it to Paul McCartney as a sort of reconciliation song.
A wonderfully artistic arrangement of a beautiful melody. You really are an artist to have done this so well. Thank you - I will use this at my funeral, it is so deep.
Thanks! I love it and what a beautiful arrangement. I do need the tabs to go with it cause there is a lot of bounching back and forth between the bass and melody. But together with your RUclips tutorial it goes perfectly. Thanks again for all your time and effort!
I'm not sure if you take requests seriously considering there are so many great songs out there for you to teach so accurately and carefully, which we all truly appreciate, but I was wondering if you would take a look at My Old School by Steely Dan ? There's some great guitar in there and I'd love to learn the guitar parts from a master such as yourself!
Very good lesson.I like how sound guitar in lesson part (is really good) .In into of clip sounds not natural delay is little to deep(it's obviously a matter of taste).Any way great player and great lesson .
Enchanting version for sure. Very nice. However I am wondering at the cresendoe of the chorus, "I'm just a jealous guy". Did you leave out the single notes out on purpose? I do like the atmosphere it creates, I was expecting them to ring out. But that's okay, esp if one is singing along.
Very sweet. 1/10th of the way through learning this and I ain't stopping until I've cracked it. What a superb tune, beautifully arranged and simply taught for us. Pay or donate the measley $5 for the tab, please.
This is a beautiful arrangement and I'm getting through it, but given how the bass falls both on and between the melody, and that the fill varies a lot between each melody line, a tab would be really helpful here. I've read through all the comments, tried all the links here and on your website but can't find it anywhere. I'm currently watching it though at quarter speed, trying to tab it out myself, but it's driving me mad! Any help would be really appreciated, cheers.
Great arrangement Andy! ...was wondering, is there a tab for your arrangement? Looked but couldn’t find it with the others for purchase..slogging thru it without, but hoping you have created one along the way. Will look again. Thanks!

Way beyond me, but I just enjoy listening to Andy play. Beautiful.
Hearing this so beautifully played reminds me of how much I miss him.

John Lennon was a genius at writing music with lyrics.

I'm on my break at work and just watched you playing jealous guy... cant wait to get home and begin learning... only 4 long hours to go heh
What is your work time man?

Agreed, it’s the ‘lack of ego’ from the best of the best, that deserves respect. Less, is so much more. (Did i just right a song title) ?

This is the arrangement I prefer most out of all I’ve seen. The drop-D transposition really thickens the sound up. Excellent all round...bravo!!
God bless you my friend thank you for all you do for us🙏

Wow. That’s great and complicated to do. Beyond my capabilities. But beautiful to watch you play it. Thanks.

Lison Rousseau indeed.
This song was made for Cynthia
Most beautiful thing i've ever heard.
A wonderfully artistic arrangement of a beautiful melody. You really are an artist to have done this so well. Thank you - I will use this at my funeral, it is so deep.

Love your playing and lessons. Definitely for more advanced players though. Would love to see some dumbed down stuff in the future.
Sorry for a dumb question, but...Are there any pictures of your face online anywhere? I’d really like to know who this wonderful teacher is!

Nice arrangement and nice midi patch.
OK...well, I don't know what a midi patch is actually...
Shutup & Play - Guitar Tutorials it sounds like there is some sort of synth effect playing behind the guitar. Sorry.
Valhalla Room reverb. I put that on post in the DAW.
beautiful video design
awsome!
holy shit that was good!
You can do one for the original Acoustic rythm from the album?
Thank you

Hey Michael, contact me here about this: andy@shutupandplay.ca
Great lesson as usual. I have a question though... Do you run the H2n into your camera or do you record voice on separate track?
This is such a beautiful arrangement. Would it be possible to get the score?
Contact me here about this: andy@shutupandplay.ca
Would love tabs to follow along
Wow
what effect did you use for the guitar?
I didn't mean to hurt you, i didn't mean to make you cry, I'm just a jelous guy! 😖💚👌💨
Wonderfull, do you have a note or tab sheet ? Regards Matthias
Look in the description box or the first pinned comment. Cheers, Andy
Can we please get a tabA🙏
I would clean out my bank account to be able to play like that..!!
I almost prefer listening to this over Lennon's vocals
A Byrds tutorial would cool!
