- With the massive wealth of great fantasy-related media out in the world, it's become a rather troublesome trend for Hollywood to not put in much effort in making good fantasy movies.
In this video, I explore a few reasons as to why I think this might be the case presently, what it was that made fantasy films much better in the past, and what can be done to make them better in the future.

Modern movies are just filmed digitally, have all the same washed out color grading, and rely too much on CGI and It does not work especially for fantasy. When u see a fantasy movie u want to accept Magic or Monsters as a real thing because they already not exist in real life so using too much cgi instead of practical effects/scenery will destroy your sense of belief/immersion.

About a year ago we went back and watched the entire trilogy with our little one. It truly was captivating lightnin' in a bottle. Even the third movie with it's insane runtime was better than the Hobbits.
The main problem is that many people wouldn't tend to look at animation and only think of it as a medium for kids even thou the source material is extremely adult oriented. One great example is when people played a Sausage party trailer in a Finding Dory film.
A dishonored or the elder scrolls series would be cool, they just need to hire good writers and a team that actually understands and cares about what they're doing, I have faith in the wheel of time show, the people in charge are actual fans of the books and they have been showing a lot of care for the series
