I just came across this piece of music and it reminds more of jazz than classical music. My understanding of music is very basic, it's mainly made of melody, rhythm and bass. So rock/pop music puts an emphasis on the melody while jazz is more about the rhythm and bass. So my question is, how does classical music fit in all of this? What is the driving force behind it? There's a lot of it that doesn't make sense to me, the music just keeps going on and on. And to what end?
