- Iron Flame and Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros has once again taken over my FYP. I've seen so many theories with TONS of evidence as to what will happen in the rest of the Fourth Wing series. I've compiled a few that I personally think are the most compelling...and I'm scared to know if we've actually figured it out - because if these predictions are true, I will be sobbing.
Will Xaden and Violet end up facing each other on the battlefield? Is Tairn's old rider Naolin secretly alive? Does Andarna have the ability to cure the venin? And what is Violet's second signet?? Let's discuss ;)

Violet, in my opinion, is basically the "Last Airbender" of this universe. She holds raw power that can take on whatever form she requires - A Wielder of all Signets.
oooh that's a good comparison, it's been a while since I've seen that but if she's a "shifter" in a way, then it would make sense that she could wield whatever she needs at the time

The quote was likely about Jack, since we discover this identity at the end of Iron Flame. He was the cause for the creation of the signet suppression serum.
Seeing/ talking to the dead cant be her second signet. When she was being tortured they gave her the signet-blocking potion thingy and she was completely cut off from her powers and tairn, so her second signet would not have worked either.
In chapter 36
Lillith sorrengail says, "When you're a mother, talk to me who you're willing to sacrifice so your child lives"
Another proof that she might have killed her husband in order to protect her children.
Theories "everybody is a venin" 🤣I really hope none of us guessed it and Rebecca surprises us all, with something plausible, though.
2nd signet: I hope nothing related to death / speaking to the dead / etc. Violet can talk to several dragons, so maybe it's something like "she's the all dragon wielder".
But I think she only talked to other dragon bc they needed to save Sawyer, and the dragon forgave her bc she was saving his rider's life.

I've just finished my first read. My prediction rn is that we are gonna see a Buffy/Angel situation with Violet and Xaden where she will have no choice but to kill evil Xaden despite still being in love with him. Either Sgaeyl will die following Xaden's death which will cause Tairn's death (which I don't want to happen) and the bond with Andarna will save Violet, or Sgaeyl will choose Violet too and she will be bonded to 3 dragons.
I also think Violet's 2nd signet is something to do with all other dragons. We saw her talk to 2 different dragons in Iron Flame and they didn't burn her.
I just cannot wait for the next book 😫
Ooh I like that - I am going to hold onto your idea of sygael bonding w violet to avoid death because I refuse to believe that she and tairn die 😅 then we just have to figure out how to bring normal xaden back from Violet killing him 😌
She enhances the powers of those around her! (Rhi being able to get the dagger; Mira able to shield on her own)
i think it’s possible that this could tie into her first signet though. since she wields pure power why wouldnt she be able to pass it off to someone else? maybe she did it subconsciously without even realizing because her adrenaline was high during those moments. it was what she needed at the time. but i also think it could tie into her second signet if she is a “shifter” of some sort. like the opposite of a siphon.
I love this theory, it makes so much sense. She's always been so supportive of all of her friends and to have a signet that reflects that would fit perfectly
Okay so there is this dream of Vi where the sage says "you'll tear down the wards yourself for love or he'll die, you both will" I think the sage was talking about saving Xaden and we already seen Xaden's Dream of "you'll turn for love" came true so my theory is Vi will find a way to save Xaden and it has something to do with the wards and she'll tear them down for him which in return will bring war on Basgiath again and they'll both die in the end while saving the people (prediction because of the opening where Jesina is the one writting everything and not Vi).

I read another theory telling that maybe when Lilith was pregnant she was attacked by venin and mearly lost violet and they all thought that violet will turn into a venin hence searching for the cure
I think violet was actually accesses xaden dreams. I don't think the Sage was coming from her. I think xaden has a connection to venin through his mom which is why he had to "break the connection" with the Sage. I think violets mom turned evening a bit to heal and give birth to violet. She's described with bloodshot eyes several times and nolo wrote to her saying there was no known cure for venin. Breannan has a rune on his hand and he has an orange dragon. I don't trust him.
Also violet has read xaden's mind in the throne room seen.
Silver hair. What else is silver besides the earth after it's been used for power? Rebellion relics.
Her hair is either a sign of venin or the rebellion. Unsure of which at this point.
So Xaden explained that a rune that he was given by his father would protect him from even death, but it would ONLY work if the death came by DRAGONFIRE. So VENIN XADEN is going to be burned alive by Tairn, only for the magic contained within the rune to save him after that.
But the rune no longer works. He said he keeps the stone for sentimentality, not for its prior function. Therefore, I don’t think Xaden will be burned. I think he’ll either be saved by Violet and Andarna, or will die nobly defending everyone from the rest of the venin.
Well, the rune is protecting direct descendants of rebels from the SIGNET of a rider of the dragon that killed the parents. And it worked only because their parents died by dragon fire. And it still works, general Melgren doesn't see battles marked ones are in

My theory is that the thing or things that killed venins before 600 years was or were Andarna`s parents. And maybe they died trying to protect her?!
But Andarna is the "unique one" or something like that. Isn't there supposed to be only one of her kind alive at a time?
Maybe one of her parents was the unique one previously, and did kill venin. But I don't know if two unique ones can exist at the same time.
Also, is the dragon's color decided since they were inside the egg? Like, does it depend on the parents? Or can a red dragon and blue dragon have a black dragon baby? They probably mentioned it in the books, but I can't remember :/
If both of Andarna's parents were chamaleon dragons, and dragon color depends on the parents' genetics, then their parents would have to be siblings, or from different families. So it'd either be incest, or two families of chamaleon dragon existing at the same time, which sounds unlikely to me, bc they're supposed to be super rare, rarer than black dragons. And there are two black dragons in the Empyrean right now.
I believe I know EXACTLY how Xaden will be saved from being a venin and brought back to life in the future.

I think that Andarna is gonna be the "cure" for Xaden being venin, venins can't die through dragonfire but she still scorched one to death in the war at the end of Iron Flame, I really do think its going to be her or Violets signet that she gets from Andarna
OR her signet is going to be something do to with dead people and dragons, because she could talk to Liam and see Liam so vividly in the interrogation, he could even touch her, so thats also possible
I think Violet's second signet is some kind of future predicting. In Iron Flame were at least four situations, where Violet somehow knew what was going to happen. During second interrogatin, Violet told Varrish that he was going to die in this room, and he did. Also Liam (I really belive he was just a hallucination 😢) said that Xaden would come for her, and he did. And in one of Violet's dreams, in chapter 52, venin exposed tan arm under his robe. In this dream its also first time when venin touched her and also she smelt something sweet from venin, this wording is very suspicious. I think she actually saw future Xaden 😭 Last but not least, is when venin told her in her dream that she (or he, Xaden?) will turn to the dark for love, and that happed to Xaden. It also make sense in way that signet is unique mix of rider and dragon and Violet is kind of person who need informations and facts and Andarna somehow knew, she need to wait to hatch. My only hole is in last chapter when venin told Xaden "I told you once that you’d turn for love" so he had to somehow communicate with Xaden, or both Xaden and Violet through a dreams.
Ooh I love this, it definitely makes sense with her as a scribe needing to know all the facts - as far as the fact that Xaden had the same dream, if Violet can see the future and she has a mind link with Xaden, I'd assume she might be able to act as a channel between the future and Xaden, which could explain why he had that dream?
I feel like vi has premonitions in her dreams or something

I also think Xaden will turn dark and evil.. But I believe something humane in him will live on, and manifest itself not wanting to hurt Violet but to kidnap her or something.
I do believe Violet will be able to bring Xaden back fully healed.. I just hope we don’t have to wait for book 5 for that to happen.
Do we know that this conversation isn't with naolin
During the interrogation she was drugged, she wasn't able to use her signets, she couldn't have used her signet to guess Varrish was gonna die
When her mom sacrificed Herself she said “ I’ll get to see him again “ which means in death - so maybe he’s not a venin or is not currently alive - I thought maybe he was the sage but now I’m

I was wondering if he was the sage too, but the more I've been thinking about it the more I feel like we're not going to get to meet her father. If we do, though, it's going to be so heartbreaking for Violet to fight against him!
Rebecca was asked this and she denied and said her dad isn't gonna comeback so yeah he is dead

In iron flame they spoke about distance yielders, like someone who can teleport, when violet was guessing Xaden’s second signet. Xaden said there hadn’t been a distance yielder in centuries. I’m guessing either Aaric, or another cadet becomes a distance yielder, due to the foreshadowing. I’m going to meditate more on what violet needs and who she is at her core to try to predict what her second signet is. I’m guessing it will have something to do with her mother and father’s death, and the astral plane. Like maybe channeling signet power’s from the dead, or channeling signet power’s from every dragon rider that she is genetically related to, dead or alive. Or something to do with restoring lost power, that leads to restoring Andarna’s lost lineage of dragon breed. Violets dad said she is the best of her mother and father, Andarna is the only dragon in her den, there seems to be a theme of them both being the link to their ancestry/ lineage and being able to combine character traits, attributes and powers from their lineage. I think the way violet wanted to be a scribe to preserve ancient knowledge and archive new knowledge will have to do with her signet being able to rewrite history and usher in a new era.
I agree - I feel like it's going to have to be something related to communicating with the dead - if we could talk to the original riders that would be super helpful!!
I'd love it if Aaric was a distance yielder. But I'm gonna be pissed if Violet's second signet has anything to do with talking to dead people or using their signets :/ Also, is Andarna from a lost lineage of dragon breed? Or is there supposed to be only one of her kind? Bc they reffered to the previous "chamaleon dragon" as the unique one. So maybe only one can exist at a time.
I love all of these theories, they seems so plausible! I am also convinced that one of her parents must have turn venin before she was born, because why else would she be born with a half silver hair? It's like half of her hair were bleached from live, almost like a venin thing... I have seen that kind of theory somewhere and I trully believe it. Love your video!

Xaden only reached for the power when he was depleted, that's when he tapped into the source. But he only did that for "love", as we learn later on in his POV -the dreams. When the Venin appears in his dream and foretold how it will happen. I think that's how the Venin General prays on the riders. Riders have been told half truths by the Dragons, if there weren't secrets maybe Venin wouldn't win so much - now I'm just rambling on... Anyways, Naolin and Brennan were definitely together, Naolin was very powerful and I suspect the Venin also appeared in his dreams and foretold how he will turn for "love" as well... That's how the bond between Tairn disappeared or it was even severed by Tairn which in return almost killed him? Tairn is still keeping secrets from Violet, it might be distrust to Vi or loyalty to the Dens? Who knows... Just speculating.
that's a good point - the dragons are supposed to be revered by the riders, but they're also partners, and if they don't fully trust their riders it really is only going to end up hurting them!
Maybe it's not a lack of trust, maybe poor Tairn is traumatized :(

The Neolan Theorie is intriguing, but your explanation why Brennan lives is flawed. It wasn't said that more power was needed to mend him, but maybe all he had inside was enough. Even though I believe there is more to it since it wasn't mentioned he died and Tairn not talking about him.
But Lilith being Venin for over 20 years is a long time to remain so composed, nearly dying could also just mean she pulled through. Violet's father however is more interesting, what was he further researching than Feathertails that no one knows about and was he experimental ?
The academy made a special serum for Jack to stay sane, it could make sense for her to also be taking that same serum to stay within the human range. We don’t really know why they decided to heal Jack, we know that when he used his signet in the sparring gym he turned venin and people didn’t fully suspect it. Maybe through bringing him back to life they could continue to have a reason to produce the serum and hide it from the cadets while also having the reason as to why hidden, which is why they used it during interrogation and land navigation.
Violet's dad knew the truth, maybe that's why he read that folklore "fairy tale" to his kids, to warn them, but only Violet remembered.
I think he found out there was a seventh kind of dragon. He could've read the diaries before them, understanding them properly. Maybe that's why he was studying the feathertails, bc he wanted to find the 7th type one to kill the venin.
I’ve got a strong feeling violets second signet is going to be able to turn Venin back to humans. Or even Sophie being a siphen can siphen the extra power from them.

That has part to do with my theory on how they are going to recover Xaden from becoming a venin and saving his life

What if they enchant a dagger with runes to remove the venin part of someone and Violet ends up stabbing Xaden with it to save him

I think Violet’s 2nd signet is being a Distance wielder, they said there hasn’t been one in centuries. I don’t see the reason to have brought it up otherwise.

one doubt..jack killed bide his dragon right..but he didnt die...which shows venin can stay alive without their dragons if they are riders and their bond to the dragons is severed...how does one even become a venin tho...like do they just draw from the source and kind of sell their soul?...so xaden is a venin does that sever his bond with sygale? cuz that wouldnt ensure him being alive...if all of this is true then naolin i.e, tarin's earlier rider mightve made a deal with venins to keep brendan alive and became a venin..which in turn severed his bond to tarin..which left tarin devastated and betrayed...correct me if i am wrong anywhere
I’ve only finished Iron Wing 2 days ago. You’re speaking about Naolin right now and why he could possibly talk to Violet in her dreams because of his bond to Tairn. With the last chapter (Xaden’s) he is having the dream. I just assumed it was Xaden having the dreams all along and Violet was just seeing his dreams through their bond and not realizing it. I’ll have to reread knowing how it will play out to see if that’s plausible. I could be completely off. It was just what I took from it.
You said how does Andarna wait to be born.. she had the ability to stop time. So maybe she had a different kind of control of it that we don’t know about yet?
I haven’t picked up on Mira being bad but now that you bring it up… she is a shield. We thought Venin couldn’t operate within the wards but now… we know better.
I do think Tairn will die and Violet will survive because of Andarna. He’s already said Violet was chosen to be his last rider. I hate it. I want it to be so off the mark. But it’s what I thought before hearing anyone’s theories.

This might be a little out there😊 but 1. The sage that Xander killed and turned him was his grandfather. 2. That Xander mother's is both light and dark her soul has been split into two. 3. Andorra is a type of shape shifter or can control all elements. That the battle will happen saving Xanders mother and to save Xander kingdom

OK i think violets second power has something to do with telling the future. Because she kept having that dream with the sage wanted her to give in and telling her that her weakness is love. That was the same scene that Xaden had in the last chapter. Then, when she was talking to the venin the battlefield, they seemed only interested in her to have control over xaden. I think it's not her that they want but Xaden. I also think that the reason Venin want xaden is because his father is a venin. That's why xaden knows they want him because his dad is a sage.
The theory of Sgaeyl and Tairn dying makes so much sense but I don’t want it to😢
Jack killed his dragon and yet he is still alive meaning that even if Sgaeyl died Xaden would still be alive. And I HATE that it makes so much sense. I always had a feeling that Tairn is going to die ,because Violet having two dragons bonded to her must have more meaning than showing how badass she is, I just couldn’t make out how that would be possible without Xaden dying. Now I do🥺.

If Sgaeyl died wouldn’t that also cause a chain reaction of Tairn, potentially Andarna and maybe even Violet to die in the process? Since they all have such a close and strong bond with Tairn and Sgaeyl to the point that they can’t stand to be apart longer than a few days. Even Violet and Xaden can’t be apart for longer than a few days for the sole fact that their dragons are bonded.
Also the fact that tairn says multiple times that he always intended for Violet to be his last rider, but he’s also “only in his middling years” so not an elder/not that old could be foreshadowing
@@nicoleskorupsky1007 Yes but because Violet has two dragons there is a high possibility that she wouldn't die thanks to Andarna which isn't really exactly bonded to Tairn and therefore wouldn't die if he did. Sgaeyl would definitely die if Tairn did but like I said Xaden wouldn't die either because it was proven than once they become venin, for some reason, the dragons death doesn't affect its rider (or something like that)

I don’t have any proof for this theory-other than the fact that she is unaccounted for, but Rebecca Yarros has made us aware of her-but, I think that Xaden’s mother might be involved with the Venin, or even the leader of the Venin. I think there’s whole higher echelon to the Venin that we have yet to see if there is still 3 more books to the series.
And, this is unrelated, but I do think that Xaden-ultimately-does not believe himself worthy of being loved by anyone, let alone Violet, so I think he’ll do something to sacrifice himself in someway. I think his shame for himself is stronger than his love for Violet.
To add on the the anarna has power over the dead I think that could explain why in the intaragatio chamber when Liam comes along maybe that's Violets second sigent. Maybe her sigent is so powerful it wasn't completely shutoff by the power dampener. Maybe that's why only she could see him because she wasn't at full strength. Varrish also said that Violet "weakness' is the people she loves so, if she can bring people back from the dead that would go along with that. But, if she saved her dad or liam there would be conquecences. Like maybe she would lose something in return.

If I understand it correctly, Papa Sorrengail was a scriber, not a rider. Does it mean, that he can’t be a venin, because he is not channeling the power from anywhere?
How would Sorrengail draw power from the earth to heal herself and her baby? She's not a healer, she doesn't have the signet necessary to cure herself.

Mira is definitely on the wrong side. She’s going to be jealous of her sister. She loves being the Sorrengail with the reputation beyond the border. Brennan said in the book of Brennnan, Mira I know you need to be the best at everything. She’s definitely jealous of Vi. RY said Mira was upset because her mother didn’t bring her in on the Venin secret which means she would have went along with it if she knew. Xaden also told Violet to keep her shields up when she’s with Mira. Clearly Xaden doesn’t fully trust Mira. He knows Mira loves Vi but he still doesn’t trust her.

Violet wields pure power, that in itself is POWERFUL also what I’m confused about is how she could have a second signet that could enhance her ability. I think her second signet isn’t going to be physical more mental. IDK what signet she could have that would align with her and be mental - reply tho this if you have ideas - but with Violet already wielding pure power I don’t thunk her second signet would be physical I think it would be mental. Let me know by replying to this with what her second signet could be. ❤❤❤

I see what you mean - if it was mental, then that's where I think some sort of communication with the dead might play in, but if it is physical, I think she would have be a siphon/somehow amplify the people around her (for example, if we need her brother's mending power to be super amplified to be powerful enough to heal Xaden, then maybe that's where she steps in!) but also, I need Violet to get ahold of this pure power thing 🤣cuz I'm really interested to see how else it would show up other than lightning!

I don’t think dain is venin but the theory made me wonder if it’s possible for dragons to become venin and influence their riders. One reason being Tarin saying that the dragons were split in their decision plus it would explain cath being off without Xaden sensing anything from Dain, especially if he didn’t know
17:04 The author pretty much dismissed this too though. She seems to hint at that he is actually dead. She also said that is someone is dead, they’re most likely dead. She doesn’t want to keep bringing people back
7:54 except that’s not true. Mira hasn’t gone to the school while Xaden did, plus she was the one that followed Violet to the parapet, so they’ve been in contact since she finished school up until Violet started. It’s been less than a year between they saw each other after Violet started the school, and just a couple months between that and when they started talking again
There are 2 points in the book where violet can see through another persons point of view… 1) through Andarnas (I forget what specific scene but it’s mentioned later in the book where 2) she can see through xadens pov when he’s with the sage
No idea what dots in trying to connect but I think there might be something in that!

I think you’re right, because it’s usually something only A venin could do with their wyverns. Maybe through high stress she accidentally peers through their pov, I can’t wait to find out what her second one is and if your correct lol
Maybe Mira wasn’t mentioned in the battle because the prose and writing are all over the place and the book jumps around and doesn’t flow very well

@@Phaseria I could start pulling for Cat if she makes some major changes/if she and Violet have a good scene of coming to understand one another! For the final battle, I feel like Xaden is going to have to be full venin - like not even himself anymore, and Violet is going to see the only way to save the world is to take him out and she can't see another way, and then last minutes someone (Brennan or Andarna or Sgaeyl) is going to sacrifice themselves to give her some sort of opening to save him. I can't handle the idea of Xaden or Vi dying, but I don't think we're getting out of the series without a MAJOR heartbreak
Turning Venin surely severs the dragon-rider bond. We know this because Jack kills his own dragon and by the end of the book Xaden can no longer feel Sgaeyl. In my opinion, Violet should have ended him as soon as she saw the red eyes (like Jon Snow slaying Daenerys). Who knows how many dragons and characters will die because of Xaden in the next book. We also already can guess that the “final” battle will be between Violet and the Venin leader. Why else would they keep mentioning they want violet alive and to bring her back?
Well Xaden killed the sage at the end of the book which is the entire reason why he became venin.

I don't think it severs it so much as alters it. And I don't think the reason sgaeyl is quiet is because of the fact that Xaden is venin but more because he is willingly taking the serum to remain under control and to be 'safe' for Violet.
I have an odd theory that maybe someone (Nolon) specifically brought back Jack because they knew he was Venin and they wanted him to start this war, why else would they try to mend him for months on end? Sure they could want the strongest cadet in Violets year back but they knew his behavior and disliked him for it. The entire time that Jack was “alive” he tried to take down Basgiath and it wasn’t until after Violet took half the riders that the opportunity opened up which is ironically also around the same time that Varrish got killed. Also back to Nolon it could make sense he could’ve brought him back on purpose, after Violet is caught stealing the journals Nolon apologizes to her for knocking her out because it could risk Basgiath and if he brought Jack back on purpose it could also risk the plans to take it down by learning how to ward.

Think book 3 will end with Xaden turning dark. And book 4 and 5 will be a big battle but in the end Violet will save Xaden and cure him.
I get a little Vampire Academy vibes here.. The main love interest there had the same where one of them turned evil but the finally managed to bring him back to the good. I think Vi will succeed.
I definitely think the big bad guy of all evilness is Violets dad.
