Jeff, glad you made it to Panama City. You seem to like the city a lot. I was impressed when I visited. The sunset booze cruise was a lot of fun and Bijao Beach resort is beautiful.

Yup, today the Panama canal revenue is about 6 or 10 times more now because of increased demand, increase in import export around the world and the additon of the 2nd canal for bigger modern cargo ships and the total revenue goes to Panama GDP, back in the days when it was run by USA Panama revenue was only about 2% of the total revenue, this is why the country has grown so fast. Well maintained and organized country with high educational level and strong democracy. Almost never natural disaster, except to torrential rain every once in a while. Panama stable goverment and systems try to adopt and copy cat USA systems as soon as possible in regard to law, real estate, education. medicine etc. Many USA based banks operates in Panama, and yes there is also a USA VA service office there.
The canal is a USA disaster. China is building a land connection in South America, so F.U. USA
"high educational level "? No, one of the worst public education systems in the hemisphere. High school grads in the city score at the 7th grade level in international tests using Washington, DC public school test results as the 12th grade baseline. Regarding USA banks operating in Panama .... that's not quite correct. Panamanian owned corporations (51%) buy franchise rights to US banks. Your history with Citi (for example) in the US does NOT transfer to the Panamanian Citi bank. If you go to open an account at a "US bank" in Panama whether or not you have an account with the same bank in the US means nada.

Sorry to hear it wasn't the best experience of your military or contractor service. I've read there was a lot of political strife during that time frame.
If you visit the province of Veraguas, I recommend visiting "Isla Escudo" in the Caribbean and "Isla Coiba" in the Pacific and also "Isla Cebaco" I hope you enjoy your time in my country. 👍
From the Amador causeway, you can take the boat to Isla Contadora and also to Isla Mogo Mogo. In Panama City you can also visit 1. the "Cerro Ancón" 2. the Zipline in Cinta Costera called "poinpanama" 3. The Canal administration building 4.gamboa rainforest resort 5.jungle land panama floating lodge
Thanks for the video, however I am left with the impression that the labor force from Barbados and Jamaica failed in the construction of the canal. My research says that it was the French efforts that failed and the Americans took over the project and they were successful with the help of the labor force from Jamaica and Barbados, hope this helps.

France start the Panama Canal it wasn’t USA idea and they did finished it (🇺🇸)because of their convinced but they forgot about the whole country just like Puerto Rico but the only thing that they care about us it was the Panama Canal and we fought for it because it’s our land but don’t give the whole credit to the Americans because they just finished something that France couldn’t. And thanks for saying that Panama City is better than Miami but haters ( Latin America) don’t accept that. I’m glad you like panama 🇵🇦.🙏🏼🫶🏻

Island Hopper TV Travel Highlights Channel is a bit different than the main Island Hopper TV channel. This one is more raw and real.
Wow this is so subjective... I totally hated Panama City. It's only the beach front that is good and the old town on the end of this beach walk. The rest of the city has nothing to offer in my opinion. But again this is very subjective. You are walking in the only presentable area of this city that has some Miami vibes....on the other side of this very road a few streets in gets sketch..and goes on and on.
Casco and the causeway are nice
Did you go to Punta Pacifica or Costa del Este or Via Argentina or The Causeway or San Francisco or the Canal Zone area? Maybe Casco Viejo and the beach front are the only places you visited and you concluded, wrongly, that's the whole city. And all cities have sketchy areas, including Miami, hell, including Dubai.

Didn't you state that on the other side of the road there is a sketchy area? Well, if that's one of the reasons why you hated Panama City, you definitely hate most cities in the world because they have sketchy areas too, even though they are hidden way out there on the outer fringes where you didn't see them.@@mercd76

Aside from a US passport do i need any other documents to enter into panama for vacation?.
