when me and a friend tried some pickup techniques and were experimenting with social dynamics in general, the most benefit we got was fun. because we didn't take it very serious in the first place we just had a ton of fun. we had fun playing around with peoples reactions and we had fun watching each other fail. and simply because we had so much fun, it was fun for others to be with us like "there is something about these guys. they have so much fun. we should spend some time with them". it's that simple. have fun, be fun for others.

One benefit of PUA. Is that it encouraged you to talk to women in public. This helps you get comfortable with yourself to the point where you should see improvement in your soft skills, which is transferable to business. However, this only works when you are genuine in how you present yourself as opposed to using gimics like hats, etc. It does show the basics of attraction comfort and seduction, which are necessary for a lasting relationship.

Actually, PUA are actually good if you want to learn sells technique. Back in the day, sellers had to go knock every doors of the city in order to make a sell. So as someone who works in a somewhat sales-y industry...I can attest that the real reason for sales "tactics" is that most clients/consumers are NOT rational, no matter what they say they believe. Most people make their choices emotionally, so there is no point in trying to be honest and give people all "the facts" so they can make an informed decision. What you want to do is connect with them on an emotional level so they can FEEL good about their decision. If you're actually rational you will lose the sale 9 times out of 10 to someone who employs emotional manipulation, even if you're literally selling the same product. Simple as that. Also if you want to succeed in sales it is important to look and dress good. Humans have an intuition about these things and in general I notice that we don't trust people who are fat and/or unkempt or poorly dressed, even if the person doing the judging is fat and poorly dressed themselves. I remember a situation a few years ago when a relative of mine had an issue with an attorney she hired...she was having some communication issues and started ranting about how she should've known he was going to be worthless and unreliable because he was fat. Turns out the reason he wasn't returning her calls was because he had died of a heart attack lol.

From every PUA video I have ever seen, I've only taken in the good things like learning about female psychology and things about confidence while ignoring the bad aspects of PUA. Never liked Owen but people like Max Berger(Tornow) have always been super-respectful to women. If you can take the good things from PUA and use that knowledge to find a life partner, you're good to go. No need to go all in- learn that stuff, apply it to the good women and stay happy. I'd be lying if I said PUA didn't teach me anything. I remember picking up The Game and The Mystery Method like back in 2007 or so, cause tbh I was truly bad and awkward talking to women, and I wanted to conquer my fear. After reading all of those, it kinda gave me some sense of ease around them, which I'm grateful for. I have always experienced pickup differently than described here. It's not about manipulating women or being a super hot guy, but about being self-confident and being able to talk to women. I did pickup for a couple of years and it helped me a lot to accept myself and overcome my social fears. These days I just happen to speak to women on the street when I go shopping or something. It's a fun little thing that enriches life and allows for interesting experiences. Back then I sometimes went out with other guys and they usually had a lot more fear and little trust in themselves. Many did not even dare to speak to women and therefore of course never got any better. If they dared it then it was totally fake and awkward however, they constantly spread negative vibes and became angry with women. These guys I see in the coment section here too.

At age 40, I finally have some traits (lifestyle, not physical) that attract women. Most women who approach me turn out to be looking to use me. I used to have friends that were part of that PUA movement, going to seminars, writing in blogs. I remember one of their “laws” was to never drink or take any drugs while encouraging women to get intoxicated. I remember avoiding this video when it first dropped because I'm a major advocate for pick up, but it just keeps getting recommended. I eventually saw a video exposing the guys from simple pick up which I wasn't heavily into tbh because I found their videos quite cringey. They kicked one dude out because he wasn't into the business side of things and one of the dudes ended up being con man basically. I think we should look to some good aspects of PUA like getting to talk to a random person effectively without hesitation. It removes social anxiety for the people who are introverts due to social anxiety and lack of self confidence. We should obviously not fake our personality and lie or manipulate women. Good communication skills can make us meet great people which we wouldn't have talked to otherwise.
PUA books / coaching is just a gimmick, that probobly peaked around 2007 (there were tv shows, books, talking tours) all about the PUA community. I was a lonely guy in my early 20s in 2007 so I was a prime target for that scene. I read one of the books, the only thing I read that made sense was that if you approach women enough times, you do get better at it (not more successful, but you atleast get over being nervous about it). I went to a Barnes and Noble, one of the popular PUA at the time was doing. talk, and book signing there (I never bought the book, I got a pdf of The Game). All these guys with goofy haircuts and ridiculous haircuts, thinking they are cool. PUA, at best gives you a kind of fake confidence. You already went through all this trouble to dress up, read the book, you might as well go the whole 9 yards and actually apply all those pick up lines and mind games. Problem is, eventually, you simply out grow immature gimmicks, you grow emotionally and have no time to put on an act. If you are no longer in high school, why are you acting like an immature high school kid? No one cares if you are the cool guy, be an adult.

One benefit of PUA. Is that it encouraged you to talk to women in public. This helps you get comfortable with yourself to the point where you should see improvement in your soft skills, which is transferable to business. However, this only works when you are genuine in how you present yourself as opposed to using gimics like hats, etc. It does show the basics of attraction comfort and seduction, which are necessary for a lasting relationship.

I've done the whole PUA thing and even took it relatively seriously for a period. But the fact of the matter is there is a clear correlation between looks and results. Honestly. Being alone has always appealed to me. While spending time with friends and family is nice. Alone time is the end game. I went to a night club a few times. So as someone who works in a somewhat sales-y industry...I can attest that the real reason for sales "tactics" is that most clients/consumers are NOT rational, no matter what they say they believe. Most people make their choices emotionally, so there is no point in trying to be honest and give people all "the facts" so they can make an informed decision. What you want to do is connect with them on an emotional level so they can FEEL good about their decision. If you're actually rational you will lose the sale 9 times out of 10 to someone who employs emotional manipulation, even if you're literally selling the same product. Simple as that.
Also if you want to succeed in sales it is important to look and dress good. Humans have an intuition about these things and in general I notice that we don't trust people who are fat and/or unkempt or poorly dressed, even if the person doing the judging is fat and poorly dressed themselves. I remember a situation a few years ago when a relative of mine had an issue with an attorney she hired...she was having some communication issues and started ranting about how she should've known he was going to be worthless and unreliable because he was fat. Turns out the reason he wasn't returning her calls was because he had died of a heart attack lol.

From every PUA video I have ever seen, I've only taken in the good things like learning about female psychology and things about confidence while ignoring the bad aspects of PUA. Never liked Owen but people like Max Berger(Tornow) have always been super-respectful to women. If you can take the good things from PUA and use that knowledge to find a life partner, you're good to go. No need to go all in- learn that stuff, apply it to the good women and stay happy. I'd be lying if I said PUA didn't teach me anything. It taught me the very core of feminine and masculine polarity and I'm using that to not find and fuck gold-diggers but to find a true life-partner.

Glad it worked for you, but I'd assume it only worked because you were starting from a really blue pilled space. Most guys with any basic sense of social skills are more than likely better off without the manipulative tactics. When I came to pua, I was bored out of my mind because I knew 95% of how attraction worked. It was all parroting of the same obvious cat and mouse, teasing banter we all know about, it was the never-ending persistence beyond rejection that was the last 5% I didn't know about prior. Turns out that last 5% works too but it's also what provides the greatest danger to men of all. The women not attracted to a man naturally will never make a good partner over the long run. These are the types of women that will cheat or use a man, but Pua encourages to pursue them anyway. Using the 5% is a REALLY bad advice for men that want a loving relationship.

I remember picking up The Game and The Mystery Method like back in 2007 or so, cause tbh I was truly bad and awkward talking to women, and I wanted to conquer my fear. After reading all of those, it kinda gave me some sense of ease around them, which I'm grateful for. BUT at the end, after so much trying and trying pretending to be someone your not, and a string of stupid and dumb relationships which cost me lots of money and energy... the best game is to be yourself, work on yourself for your own good, go out and meet people (forget about chicks, you will really tire yourself out if you anchor on just that), and most importantly just chill. I have always experienced pickup differently than described here. It's not about manipulating women or being a super hot guy, but about being self-confident and being able to talk to women. I did pickup for a couple of years and it helped me a lot to accept myself and overcome my social fears. These days I just happen to speak to women on the street when I go shopping or something. It's a fun little thing that enriches life and allows for interesting experiences. Back then I sometimes went out with other guys and they usually had a lot more fear and little trust in themselves. Many did not even dare to speak to women and therefore of course never got any better. If they dared it then it was totally fake and awkward however, they constantly spread negative vibes and became angry with women. These guys I see in the coment section here too.

He quite consistently has to have meeting with new sales hires that were successful in other jobs telling them to not lie to his customers or they will be fired.

At age 40, I finally have some traits (lifestyle, not physical) that attract women. Most women who approach me turn out to be looking to use me. So there is some merit to the guys who do it being bad people but it is quite the over generalization. There are indeed a lot of bad eggs but there are still genuine people in the community.
I'm only half way at 7:22 but I will continue to watch the rest but one comment made was that you pay 5000 dollars to have no friends. Now personally I've never paid a dime, I've just watched the videos and implemented them into my life. In doing so I've actually developed the only deep male connections I have in my life. When you meet guys who are into pick up, you're meeting guys who find fault within themselves and look to rectify. There is accountability taken for your flaws and an openness to admit it to a stranger. Friendships built off of that in my experience is so fulfilling. I mean I've always had friends and people to hang out with but it never got to a stage of that level of openness.
Pick up isn't just some gimmick you run, it was like that in the early 2000's perhaps but I got into pick up in 2016 and it's always been about building organic attraction. I don't deny there are terrible instances like the one dude who was literally sexual harassing women on camera but I don't think those cases are indicative of the community as a whole. Things like that are far more uncommon than the positive instances but no one's going to write a story about a dude who had his first kiss at the age of 23 🤷🏾♂️.
Besides how else do people get laid? Pick up is literally the only way you hook up with any girl unless your parents arrange a marriage for you.
One night stands don't make for good relationship material. They're inherently impulsive, and probably have had to many different partners to be able to bond with you. There is also evidence that women that sleep around go a little nuts.

Paul Janka gets all those numbers due to his looks, nothing to do with how good his game is. The exact reason game and confidence are a waste of time and so are PUA's. Wake up call - with picking up women, looks are by far the most important factor.
I think we should look to some good aspects of PUA like getting to talk to a random person effectively without hesitation. It removes social anxiety for the people who are introverts due to social anxiety and lack of self confidence. We should obviously not fake our personality and lie or manipulate women. Good communication skills can make us meet great people which we wouldn't have talked to otherwise.
PUA is merely a technique, the key is SMV (Sexual Market Value)

PUA books / coaching is just a gimmick, that probobly peaked around 2007 (there were tv shows, books, talking tours) all about the PUA community. I was a lonely guy in my early 20s in 2007 so I was a prime target for that scene. I read one of the books, the only thing I read that made sense was that if you approach women enough times, you do get better at it (not more successful, but you atleast get over being nervous about it). I went to a Barnes and Noble, one of the popular PUA at the time was doing. talk, and book signing there (I never bought the book, I got a pdf of The Game). All these guys with goofy haircuts and ridiculous haircuts, thinking they are cool. PUA, at best gives you a kind of fake confidence. You already went through all this trouble to dress up, read the book, you might as well go the whole 9 yards and actually apply all those pick up lines and mind games. Problem is, eventually, you simply out grow immature gimmicks, you grow emotionally and have no time to put on an act. If you are no longer in high school, why are you acting like an immature high school kid? No one cares if you are the cool guy, be an adult.
