  • These video clips illustrate the printing process and the mechanical durability of newly developed DASP-printable hydrogels. Digital assembly of spherical particles is a technology developed in the Soft Biomatter Laboratory led by Liheng Cai, an assistant professor of materials science and engineering and chemical engineering at the University of Virginia. The DASP technique deposits particles of biomaterial in a supporting matrix, both of which are water-based, to build versatile 3D structures for the generation of tissue mimics.
