It’s crazy how people seem to dismiss Canelo. Benavidez is a good fighter but there’s levels to the game. Also that Bivol loss was a huge jump by Canelo. Everybody acting as if Bivol is not a top fighter.

Bivols name only breathes through causals breaths was because of Canelo. I like Bivol and Canelo yet that fight was a mismatch. Canelos power didnt travel to 175. Could that be because of his hand, maybe. I don't think this rematch will happen, and we will get that Benavidez fight perhaps which would be more beneficial since Benavidez name rings bells, and bivols name does not in the states, and with that brings a bigger draw to their pockets.

The only way this fight isn't gonna happen is if Canelo beats Bivol and stays at 175. But even then there would always be the question mark of Benavidez that he avoided.

If Benavidez continues to dominate his division, then I believe Canelo will want to face him at one point to erase that question mark, otherwise he is undisputed only on paper.
Benavidez is a tier above Andrade and Charlo and actually deserves the fight. Canelo doesn't seem like a person to duck a lucrative fight and affirm his legacy along the way. But we will see.

Canelo has been active for so long it’s only natural that he’d start to slow down. However, Canelo at 90% is still tough as nails and has the experience to beat a lot of people (especially at 168). To have a chance of winning you’ll need to give 110% and be able to maintain it for the entire match. Either way, I want Canelo vs Benavidez more than just about any other fight right now!

There’s a lot of hate for canelo. He’s faught all the champions in each weight division he’s competed in. He continually fights bigger competition and challenges himself. Ryder was no 1 contender who just beat Danny jacobs, jacobs is a great boxer too. A lot of these people hating need to do their research on the opponent. No one outside of boxing knew bivols name till he fought canelo, now he’s a superstar. Canelo went up to fight him (a champion) at 175, canelo started his career at like 150. You can say you don’t like him, but ignoring his body of work and saying he’s fighting nobody’s when he’s fighting no1 contenders and champions is just close minded. A bum opponent would be either low ranked or u ranked, Canelos ‘tune up’ fight was against the no1 contender.

Key factors in a fight between Canelo & Benavidez. (1) At 168LBS Canelo will not be a push over . Just because he lost to BIVOL at 175LBS that does not mean he will fight Benavidez the same way at 168lbs. (2) Will Benavidez boxing style of moving forward work against Canelo? We saw that a strong GGG couldn't do it and it back fired (3) Can Benavidez handle a Canelo power punch? Canelo broke Ryders nose and has damages a lot of boxers faces. If Benavidez chin cannot take Canelo's power he will be in trouble throughout the fight. (4) If Benavidez decides to change his boxing style during the fight and not be the aggressor will he be able to with stand and run away from Canelo? (5) Will Canelo be more aggressive and throw more punches? Canelo is not a high output puncher he is accurate and takes him time directing his opponents. The only way to find out is to have the fight.

Benavidez fought all soup cans except Caleb, and adjustments will be made against Benavidez if that fights comes into fruition. People tend to forget Ryder is no slouch and has fought among the best. I praise Ryder for taking a beating and possible brain damage since he was obliterated even if canelo didnt get the KO or TKO Ryders face and knock downs show otherwise. That fall was definitely a Knock Down that they gifted to Ryder as a slip.

The one I thing took from the Ryder fight is...Saul's head movement just isn't there anymore. Now he just shells up...eats shots... And tries to get a one shot KO. That's not gonna get the job done against Benavides
I really hope Canelo could pull this fight off but after what I saw last night I don’t think Canelo gots it in him anymore his defense has gotten worse head movement and everything and just don’t seem to have that pop anymore which is really sad to say and of course with age your speed goes away so there is that also I don’t think he wins against Bivol or beneviedez and that is very hard for me to say as a huge Canelo fan

Even if Canelo isn't at his 100% that doesn't mean he doesn't have enough to beat Benavidez who's never been proven at that level. David doesn't in any way have the skillset of Bivol who also competes a division above. David is hyped for his workrate and power but his one punch power isn't anything next level and his workrate was brought down in his first step up vs Plant. And there are a lot of unanswered questions about Benavidez like how his chin and body will hold up to skilled power. If Plant had him thinking twice with his counters then imagine Canelo. Bottomline, David is the one who has something to prove not the other way around.

I'm a huge Canelo fan, but I'm not gonna lie... Benavidez is a big threat. I would love to see that fight. I like Benavidez too. I'm not saying he 100% beats Canelo but I think at the minimum, he gives him problems. Might even beat him.. who knows. It's truly a 50/50 fight.

I don’t see Benavidez taking Canelo’s big shots for 12 rds. I think Canelo will end up making him fold in the later rounds. David has the worst body in the division, his body doesn’t look like it’s been built to with stand big punishment.
