    I'm happy to report that the smart plug, lightstrip and e14 bulb have been paired to home assistant. I used my Conbee 2 stick with deCONZ and the phoscon UI. Reset the devices back to factory and remember to forget them from the Lidl app. Then run the scan under Lights, yes even the smart plug is under lights.

      @@ronanduffy6566 i already have a hue hub which the lidl stuff connects to easily.
      I also have a smart things hub and it also can see and connect to the led strip.
      So in my case the lidl hub was not needed.
      If you link the hue or smart things skill on your alexa or google app then you can control those devices with you voice.
      All of my lights have an added switch ( hue dimmer) for each room so the lights can also be operated like normal.
      Routines and automations can sometimes delay or fail.
      The added switches give back normal control and stopsyou shouting rude words at alexa, so often 😅
      Only using the app or voice seems smart until something doesn't activate.
      Then you start shouting bad words at alexa or google..

    You're wrong about developers will be able to write some software that will remove the need of the hub/gateway, the gateway takes wifi commands from your phone and turns them into lower rate Radio frequencies, These are sitting behind a closed source zigbee protocol. This is made in such a way that you buy into their hub, there are other available products that do connect directly into the wifi, but not this one.

    Should be able to connect to any Zigbee gateway... but sadly not the case. At least, not if your gateway is an Amazon Echo. The plug was detected and added - but only got a "not responding" error when I tried to do anything with it. Quick Google indicated I was not alone, so it all went back the following day.

      You need to have an Echo Plus 2nd Gen, Echo Show 10" 2nd Gen, Echo Studio or Echo 4th Gen. These are the only Echo devices that have ZigBee Hub built in and the Lidle devices will connect to it in order to allow you to use them with Alexa

    • @ralph17p
      @ralph17p 3 года назад +1

      @@immis8894 I have an Echo 4th Gen and my other Zigbee devices work fine through it. The Lidl smart plug was detected and showed as a switch, but any attempt to do anything with it said the device was not responding. I did a quick Google and found that the Silvercrest Smart Home devices from Lidl were known not to work with Amazon Alexa. There might be ways of getting it working, but I couldn't be bothered, so it went back, along with the other devices I bought, but didn't unbox. I certainly wasn't going to go through the hassle of fitting a light fixture to the ceiling to find it also didn't respond.
