I’ve been trying to figure out why I’m so fascinated by Derek’s videos and why I watch them religiously even though I’m not that into bodybuilding. I think I just really admire how Derek is never afraid to call bullshit on anything but, at the same time, able to be so calm and disarming while doing it by always backing up everything he says with fair reasoning and super solid research. It’s a really rare trait to come by nowadays with how biased and polarizing everyone is about everything. It’s really refreshing to witness honestly -I think everyone should take a page out of Derek’s book. I’ve also unintentionally learned so much about health and fitness in the process. I was a cutter for Hugo Boss & I fit Chris for a fragrance campaign just after he filmed ragnarok. He was cut & clearly sauced but he wasn’t really that big (44 chest 32 waist, 18in arm), but he is insanely proportionate. Meaning he doesn’t fluctuate, his proportions make him look massive on screen.
I’m sure he does fluctuate a little bit point being w his frame & proportions, he looks massive on screen where other guys are bigger but don’t look like it.
I fit Edgar Ramirez around that same time (early 2017) & he was actually bigger. But edgars frame makes him look like a chonk whereas Chris’ Frame accentuates the v, shoulders, etc.
Same with they always make Tom hardy look big on screen whereas in real life he’s like 5’8 170
All that said, Chris is sauced to the fuggin gills, but it looks even more ridiculous cause he has the frame that accentuates it.

I’m 41….I’ve always been able to “get jacked” whenever I started to hit weights heavy, for the last 10 years tho I was on a running kick- I literally ran every day (aside from 93 days in total) for 10 years straight averaging 3.5 miles per day over that span. I still did some weight lifting too but after I hit that 10 year mark & turned 40 I told myself I’d go back to hitting weights hard- I still run but I do BJJ, heavy bag, exercise bike more now for cardio. When I stopped running so much I was 148 lbs & 5’8, I’m now 159 lbs & about 8% body fat, I can bench 225x6, squat 315x5, 275x10, 6 pack & obliques show, do I look like I’m on roids? I don’t think so at all, but to the average 41 year old slobs I see picking their kids up @ daycare? Maybe I do. Lots of hard work & discipline + good diet & you’d be surprised what you can achieve.

@@lebastion7104 YOU couldn’t achieve it with PEDs. Why does it even matter if people know this or not? People who don’t seriously lift weights and look into this stuff don’t even have an expectation of walking like him because they know they don’t take this stuff seriously and everybody who does take it this seriously would obviously know he’s taking something. I hate when people act like this is so important to call out people doing steroids like there’s some moral imperative. It’s fun to talk about but don’t act like it’s virtuous. There’s nothing wrong with it and I love Derek‘s videos. I’m like his biggest fan. But other people pretending like celebrities not talking about steroid use is harmful it’s not only not the truth, it’s the opposite of the truth. It’s better for people to think this is natural and try and achieve it naturally to know if they wanna look like this they need to do drugs. It’s common sense that celebrities should not be talking about steroid use… anybody who claims the opposite he’s just insecure and wants some credit taken away from them among the general public so that everyone knows the insecure person doesn’t look like this because he’s not doing drugs. It’s much safer and better in moral for people to believe this is natural into believe this is only achievable through drug use. Because then they will work out naturally. Because of 99.999999999% of people do steroids and work out pretty hard, they won’t come close to looking like him. So it’s better for the average person who watches movies and lives their life and maybe work out some tonight even think about this stuff or not think this requires drug use.

I have not seen the film yet so I don’t know the level of exposure his calves get in the film, but if it’s only this scene, it’s an easy effect to track either digital legs onto him or another stand-in with thick calves.
