From an IT management perspective, Windows 11 will not work (yet) for small, medium, large or corporate businesses. Municipal apps are not yet compatible with Windows 11. Majority of apps designed for windows 7 (legacy apps) that businesses invested in aren't even windows 10 compatible but we made them work. I recall windows 10 was suppose to be the last OS made but of course, simplified the display of windows 11 but makes it horrible for IT managers to implement the latest and greates OS to our managed clients as we, ourselves, have to be trained in Windows 11, test windows 11 and determine if the clients will use the new windows 11 OS. Lots of customer education right there. Right now, we created a script to not push Windows 11. Not until 2023 probably will we move to Windows 11. Windows 11 is best for home average users and not for business.
Greetings and as a fellow IT professional, I would suggest that it sounds like apps have not been updated somewhere along the way. Why aren't you using VMs? And for how long is MS continue to focus lots of resources to Win 10? Are they not offering higher security update charges to clients who want to stay on Windows 10? I fully understand the painful path of upgrading, especially when feverything can migrate to the new OS, but just one application can't move because of some funny dll. The other things you mentioned are also a pain - training staff, etc.

This looks equally bad in it's own way, but the rest of the features are cool, so Open Shell can fix my Start menu and i'll enjoy the rest.
