    the humble company also has different flavoured toothpaste and they are slightly better for the environment then ordinary toothpastes! (it is a swedish brand, not sure if they sell everywhere)

    Merry Christmas! I've finished only 64 products this year and a good amount of them were candles. I'm going on a no buy next year for half the year so I hope that helps me with my numbers.

    Merry Christmas Kat! My guess was around 150 empties. I have been collecting my beauty empties for the past 5 or 6 years - a year worth, tucked away in a storage outside the house. I roughly get four to five chemist warehouse bags full of rubbish. Then sort according to recycling options and dispose appropriately. The annual sorting and disposing will happen this week. The bags are busting full. Biggest categories are skincare, haircare (many products to maintain bleached blond hair in top condition) and body care, with haircare and body care empties larger in size. And I am probably one of the maniacs with a lot of dental/mouth care empties! One thing I learned from the empties collection - where possible and practical, buying larger bottles to reduce number of plastic bottles with pumps as they are more challenging to recycle or buying bottles without pumps - shower gels, shampoos, body moisturisers, etc. I wish makeup was finishing as fast as other products!

      This is so interesting!! Makes me want to collect all my empties for the year too! I tend to recycle empties as I go but might do this from now on 😅

    Amazing progress! I’m currently sat at 69 products used up. Hoping to hit a round 70 this week

    I kept my first record of the products used up this year which informed my Black Friday skin care purchases. I use a lot of Body Shop Body butters to keep my post menopausal skin hydrated.
    The Bobbi Brown Extra Repair Moisturiser keeps my skin hydrated without a serum. It’s pricey but well worth it. There is always a good Black Friday deal on their website and I stock up for the year ahead, along with the Extra Repair Eye Cream Intense.

    I think I have more than 40 sheet masks 🙈 perhaps I should do a sheet mask project along with you 😂😂
    I think that benefit brow product would be better at half the size and cheaper, it would stay "fresher" the whole time then as well

    40 sheet masks sounds like a challenge :D but using a mask every week might help with dehydration 🤔

    Totally agree about scandaleyes from Rimmel. Tried, true, reliable. I have used up 165 things this year! My first time tracking but that seems like a lot, but like you it's not like I started them all from scratch. The biggest surprise for me is that you only went through 4 tubes of SPF!! I went through 12 just for my face. Then again, I do wear it every single day even if I don't go outside but it makes me wonder whether I am using too much!!

    • @KitschSnitch
      @KitschSnitch  7 месяцев назад +1

      I do wear it every single day too (even if I don’t leave the house). But I rarely reapply. I do have 3 open, so I rotate through a few which makes it harder to finish one.
      A full size face product should last you 3 months of daily use, so using up 4 is spot on for once a day application for a year. If you reapply it’s a different story ☺️

    Beautiful dress/top 💃 I go through a lot of topcoats. Not sure if you want a straight-up workhorse or more fancy...my current workhorse is Sally Hansen Double Duty Base and Top Coat. IMO Sally Hansen has the best. My fancy topcoat right now is either Chanel Shimmering Amber or a Dior glitter/shimmer topcoat. The "fancy" topcoat has two purposes for me. One is to fix and use up a shit nailpolish, like a polish that is streaky or gloppy application, a fancy topcoat literally hides the bad formula and makes a streaky polish look better. Two, with a fancy topcoat I can update older nail polishes without buying new colors, and jazz up my older polishes on holidays.

    • @KitschSnitch
      @KitschSnitch  8 месяцев назад +1

      Is the Sally Hansen one a gel top coat? I have a few nice nail polish top coats, but I specifically need a LED gel top coat ❤

    • @cwynn1547
      @cwynn1547 8 месяцев назад

      @@KitschSnitchSally Hansen's Gel Topcoat for LED is highly rated. I use some of the new hybrid gel tech that doesn't need a light, so I haven't used their Gel Topcoat. This hybrid is what both Dior and Chanel changed their polish lines to within the past year. Sally has a hybrid topcoat, but the Double Duty seems to be fine. Sally Hansen also has a professional line that requires a license to buy, if drugstore doesn't go with your polish tech. I personally go Sally Hansen first, but I am older using old brands 😅. Maybe newer lines have better products.

    Long time viewer and even longer time at home gel mani, 99% OPI. The OPI gelcolor base and top coat were reformulated and don't perform so well for me anymore. I use a professional lamp. I switched to the gelish base and top coat and it is outstanding for application, cure, performance, leveling, and shine, especially when compared to that OPI you held up. My daughter who has very different nails and OPI gelcolor experiences than me gets the same benefits, as do others in the OPI gelcolor lovers online group. Good luck!

    If your moisturiser is feeling like that, then it’s not doing its job. I think going moisturiser with oil over the top will help seal in the moisture ❤

    • @KitschSnitch
      @KitschSnitch  8 месяцев назад +2

      It is doing its job, but my skin is just unusually dehydrated in winter these days (I think it's post pregnancy skin related). I follow a few skincare experts on Tiktok and they all agree that sometimes dehydrated skin needs two layers of moisturiser. I have tried using oils over my moisturiser but it doesn't sink in and just makes my skin really slippery and it transfers on my sheets at night. For my skin, using an oil earlier in the routine and then layering it with a moisturiser works a lot better.

      @KitschSnitch I've been seeing a bunch of the exact same bitchy "This is her job!" comments appearing on people's makeup videos in the last week. It's a stupid bully girl trend. Maybe the last time they felt alive was high school ha ha. None of the people targeted have RUclips as "a job", they just love makeup and beauty.
