It would be cool to see privateer motocrosser matt burkeen get hooked up with a build like this by sponsors. He's racing a '22 YZ250 for the outdoor pro season
holy crap! there's green on Glen Helen! looks like a whole new place. love me sum YZ 250 projects. Wish Honda had a semi modern 250 2-stroke. Always preferred their engines. just can't beat the light weight feel and, ofc, that sweet sound.
My 2 new YZ 250 bikes are so much fun, awesome to ride, i dropped down 3 spring rates to suit my weight with race tech components, game changer, so planted
You know I was a big Honda rider back in the day but I have to give a huge shout out to Yamaha and KTM for keeping the 2 strokes alive. They are the only true racing machines. I’m gonna go a step further and say someone either needs to change the AMA rules or just say the hell with them and open up a new organization where all riders that race get points which gives them their number at the end of the year. The other thing is get every bike rider to join the organization so that they have have a pro season on 2 strokes only and get well paid and have the best riders. The sport has badly damaged due to 4 strokes and the fan base is down to nothing as well as not being able to reach the youth. It’s not the EPA that has caused this issue because the 2 strokes are still raced and sold. The problem is no one wants the 2 stroke being that they have to race a class up which is not fair. I will never understand how that rule came into affect. The 4 strokes were to slow so they made the 2 strokes race a class up. That should tell you everything right there. The 4 strokes are simply not good enough. Yes they are smoother but it takes away from the feel of racing and of course it’s smoother and it’s because it’s slower and a 4 stroke gas engine and not a racing engine
That blue yellow and black color scheme is tight. Reminds me of the Chaparral Yamahas of the 2 stroke era. I still prefer the silver rims over the blue ones, but this is an awesome YZ
I triesd the short silencer-did not like it at all power signs off too soon-the long stock silencer adds to mid-top end my feel anyway!-Same with all my old CR250"s the long silencers add mid-top end
Hello, I have mounted a fatty and shorty fmf exhaust on my yz 250 23, my question is is it protected with the 50 n3ew pos 2 series carburetion and 178 main jet, or should it go up to 180, thanks in advance
Folks, here's a 17 year ole' motocross bike, with four stroke look alike plastics. We're gonna throw on some of our product and tell ye all it feels brand new, oh and faster den ever. (Said with a Scottish accent)
I’m not trying to be a dick here but why does Jay Clark get so much exposure? There’s hundreds of badass bike builds all over the US and Jay always seems to get bikes he’s touched media exposure, is it connections, proximity of the track/magazine? Pretty cookie cutter build there. Id probably be interested in a new 2 stroke but wouldn’t buy a Yamaha (due to Deegan/Yamahas stunt at LL last year) No European 2 strokes. And no other Japanese 2 strokes exist.
Why let the actions of a few people make you not like a bike? While I think he had a mod bike, that bike did not make deegan beat that other rider. There is no way you can buy the parts and build a bike that is safe for the fastest kids for the money limit set at Loretta’s. The kids dad thought it was a bad look to try and claim it. The kid only did it because he wanted a famous RUclipsrs bike. The situation was handled very bad on Deegans side. But in my eyes if the other kid was a top 3 rider he has the chance to protest. But a mid pack rider should not be able to claim the winners bike. It’s obvious the bike didn’t make the difference when one year later the deegan kid is rookie of the year and finished second in the east. No I’m not a Deegan fanboy. I’m a fan of the sport that keeps and open mind and I think how both sides acted and looked at all media before I made my decision on the Loretta’s situation. Haiden was fortunate to be born into a moto family. But,he put in the work and has proven himself so far. Evan ferry and many other kids of ex pros had the same opportunity and had more talented dads and haven’t been as successful.
@@Bodie2020 Deegan and Yamaha handled it poorly. The kid had the money the bike should be his, period. Nobody said the bike was going to be the difference betweenwinning and losing. You are putting words into my mouth. He got pressured NOT to claim the bike. Deegan should never have been allowed to talk to that kid without his parent. The kid was underage, period. Dick move on Deegans part. Me not liking the bike makes no difference. If youre going to have a POS like Deegan represent your product....bye bye. Sorry I have ethical standards to look passed what his BS persona is and see the guy for what he really is.
@@Bodie2020 to be fair, manufacturers tie themselves to their riders to hawk and brag about their products. it's kinda silly that anyone old enough to afford a bike would get it just b/c of a pro rider, but as a kid...yeah. I was all about Yamaha b/c of Damon Bradshaw. Then I got on my nice new YZ 250 and it was awful. poorly jetted. incredibly soft suspension. poor low range stock power. felt like the clunkiest 250 I ever rode in the 90s. not gonna lie. I pushed hard for that bike b/c I was a fanboi. last time my father sunk thousands of $$$ into a bike on my fandom. 😄

Ronnie Mac rode it the other day 😂
I’m pretty sure Matty B’s sponsors did hook him up pretty good. I believe one of his sponsors is a motor builder.
Love to see a comparison video of a 2004 YZ250 spec’d with SSS Suspension and similar mods vs a ‘21+ YZ250!

Best bike ever 👍👍😂
Excellent job as always 👍
Now do a mod KTM300SX😊
I think all they can really do is put a pipe on it.pretty sure they can't break into the ecu.
So what was the lap time difference compared to the stock ‘23 YZ250 you had for comparison??
Nice bike is a savage

You gotta be a real weird mf to be judging an entire brand based off something that happened between a few people.
