Sorry to hear about your dog Lee, hope it gets easier. Just wondered if you have any info about how you modified the surface grinder to run belts? Looks like I have the same make/model and I'd love to be able to convert it.
Nice one, thanks you may have made my day! That fits straight on to the warco surface grinder OK, assuming that's what you've got (looks identical to mine)? Came close to buying the tormach surface grinder last year but couldn't justify the cost. The attachment however is much ore affordable.
Thanks for the recommendation. Fitted on to the Warco SG fine, although a bit fiddly to get the belt running properly. Have balanced the wheel but am still getting some 'waves' - did you need to true the rubber wheel too?
Always wondered this about surface grinding mate ..I know your taking a minimal cut/microns off, but once the belt starts to wear down, even a tiny bit, surly that means your not getting it truly flat? Basically with each pass your loosing some of the abrasive so will be constantly chasing ‘true flatness ‘ and never get it because of this..or..Am I missing something??lol Hope you get what I mean mate! 👍🏼...by no means a criticism just a question
The belts don't wear evenly. The leading edge will wear first before the back edge since it is starting the grind. It will still grind true until the back half starts to wear. On a stone surfacer you would true it up using a diamond hone.
You could say the same about a stone mate. It’s an abrasive after all that still breaks down. For folders I still use a stone, as it’s more accurate but running a click over the Knives even with belts it’s more than flat enough for my parameters mate.
Thanks again for posting mate.... you are not only a craftsman.. you are a story teller as well!
Thanks

Thanks Lee. What did you use, diamond file, lathe tool or something else - did it make a marked improvement?
Can you get a mirror finish with belts?
Pretty close yes mate.

Clock over the knives . Bloody phone
Curious, you keep spelling the word "know" as "no" in your videos, yet your about page uses the correct spelling of "knowledge."
My spelling is atrocious mate. Miss spent youth. I try my best
