    Thank you for everything you do Jody. You have helped me so much. Don’t think I could’ve done it without you.

    Congratulations on selling out your first run of 2017 videos.I’m sure it’s a hassle too, but it’s the best sort of compliment!Keep doing what you do.

    I just bought your DVD set, Jodie! Thanks for making them. Without it, I'd be lost. The university where I work paid for them.
    I justified the expense as "professional development" lol... but I've learned so much and they've seen the results firsthand.
    I've been a research machinist for the last 20 years and it's only now I'm learning to weld with TIG and MIG. It brought out the fabrication in me and now I can't wait to do more welding for my pet projects.

    I have a habit of using stainless steel mig wire on stainless less work, it’s nice. If you watch your travel angle it won’t burn up unless you get to around 150 amps

    Hey Jody, maybe you could offer a digital only form of the content of your DVD, such that you can never run out of inventory. Sorry no, I"m not the guy to set that up. Thanks for putting out so much good info. Have TIG finger, but no machine yet. Time is coming.

    Hey Jody big fan of yours and have actually bought a couple of tig fingers from you as well. I was wondering if you had a video of you running 309 wire on a carbon pipe coupon (tig). Or is that something that is on your DVD? I watch a lot of your videos and have learned a great deal just by watching, listening and having you share your knowledge. Thanks so much bud.

    Jody, you might also want to make the point that the DVDs don't suffer from RUclips compression and you get everything that you can get out of a DVD.

    Jody - have you ever tried very thin SS (24ga)? Here in the northeast we have maple syrup evaporators made out of 24ga, the thinner stuff gives better heat transfer during boiling (Google Leader Evaporator for examples). I think they use heat sink blocks extensively during welding. Great videos - thanks.

    • @weldingtipsandtricks
      @weldingtipsandtricks  6 лет назад +2

      Dave Morse chill blocks are definitely the way to go for really thin stainless

  • @thefirewooddoctor

    Obviously a rookie question. Can you TIG weld outside if you block the wimd like you can for MIG welding with shielding gas outside?

    First of all!
    Thanks for all the GREAT welding info!
    and now to my "problem?"
    I work on cars, and the steel is 0,8mm thick, and I have been using a mig untill now, but I am not a fan of all the cleanup after, the splatter and that when you buttweld it usually leaves to much weld there. so I bought a tig! (kemppi minarc evo 200 tig MLP) and though I would give it a go!
    But I am struggeling with finding a video with some tips for welding material that thin, is that something you have in one of your dvd`s or maybe that is something you can tackle in a future video?
    again thanks for all the help!

      Go to weldingtipsandtricks.com and search his archive... I remember watching Jody do a video on low amp pulsed dc on thin sheet metal, though maybe not 24 gauge?

    • @Sicktrickintuner
      @Sicktrickintuner 6 лет назад

      Aslak Zissou
      I would personally still go mig, much more material transfer, less chance of burn through and much better to weld with er70s6 for the kinda dirty steel environment that there is. Also you never weld full runs like you would do in tig because of warping that thin of material. Much easier to spot/stitch weld it.

    • @weldingtipsandtricks

      breinbjerg22 yes it is possible but usually not very practical. Especially when the ceramic cup makes scratches on polished or machined surface
