Winter PIKE FISHING in freezing cold water!

In this episode I was fishing winter pike in cold water. It was freezing! Ice floating in the water! But a lot of fun! Was fishing in a lake not far from Gothenburg, Sweden. The lake included in the Gula Kortet fishing license. I have not really planned to do pike fishing, just went out with my son to walk in the forest and grabbed fishing rods. Tried to cast a bit ned rigs from the shore to catch winter perch, however, instead I got pike biting. So, the next day I went pike fishing with heavier gear. Watch here how it went!
My gear:
- Rod 1: Okuma Psycho Perch UFR Spin 7'7'' 230cm 3-18g - 2sec.
- Reel 1: Daiwa 18 Ninja LT 2000.
- Rod 2: 10-foot Caperlan Ilicium-500, 20-60 g.
- Reel 2: Daiwa 20 Laguna LT 4000-C.

Yes, it is tasty! Cut into pieces, roll in flour and fry in a pan. The fish is kind of more dietary (less fat) than that of trout

I always figured Feb. in Sweden & there would be snow up to ones "Imjim". Guess I was wrong. Is this year unusual?

Here in the westcoast of Sweden the winters are becoming milder and milder and with less snow,there was some snow earlier but it melted.
In more northern parts of the country its alot of snow and ice still

It depends what part of Seeden. In Gothenburg area it is often above 0 °C in winter.
