Sing it Etta! She knew how to get to the heart of the matters at hand in her songs. “I’d rather be blind”, “leave your hat on” “tell momma”. Etcetera. She led a life of ups and downs because of addictions, but she left us with a legacy of wonderful songs that nobody else could do justice to. Can you say “At last”? That one has been covered but never with the same soul searching sounds as Etta gave it.
