Matt Garstka is one of the most original drummers doing it today. His style and rhythm are so unique. Huge respect for nailing this.

I've played drums on/off (session/touring) for 43 years & this was some wicked time signatures/foot work.Not to mention just how clean & crisp it was.I thought Meytal Cohen was the only one doing it this good,but this one is also on that level.Maybe this gal can give Lars some lessons on how to play triplets & sixtuplets this clean.Super great stuff gal.Keep it up.
This is only 4/4, not that it takes away anything. Animals as Leaders are the masters of making 4/4 sound not like 4/4. The pattern in Arithmophobia is in 4/4 but it takes 8 measures to line back up, the result is super cool sounding
I recommend checking out Matt Gartska's playthrough of these songs. Absolutely incredible

@@bwa_8 You can be a really good drummer and you will still get some flamming with the original drums. It sounds super annoying. So it's nice that she (or her editor) aligns the hits to be phase coherent

Because she's female... and shes's no where close to being the best drummer. So one of the best female drummers it is.
I don’t know. How many female drummers are there compared to male drummers? It’s not about misgendering or perception implying disrespect. It’s a reasonable observation that particularizes who she is as a minority amongst many other drummers who are mostly male: a female drummer. And an amazing one at that. I don’t know any other female drummer that can hit that double bass drum pattern like she can, let alone the majority of male drummers (myself included).
