This was pretty much exactly what I thought it would be. It is a solid maybe from me. I don't mind combat, as long as it isn't the sole means of progression.
If you're referring to the floating orb in the Labs level, it buffs everyone around it, friend or foe. There are also white orbs, they make everything and everyone around it fly.
Thanks for the review!!! Looks really interesting. I am curious if the rogue lite aspect makes the game too difficult. I do not mind playing levels over and over again till I achieve the main goal, but some rogue lite games make it near impossible to achieve the goal. Do you get to save any powerups with each run?
wow, that's a cool review! not to technical, but focusing more on the overall feel which is kinda more important in my opinion.. :D from the footage it seems like the controls for levitation aren't very intuitive? idk, it just LOOKS clunky for some reason..
I bought the game and god it was a mess.... Some problems are easy to fix and I can't understand how they managed to not to fix them before launch. Examples: -The interact button on controller is the same button that switch one of your spell in the top spot. Since you interact with every door, you'll switch spell without even knowing it. -There are too many spells to be managed with the current control scheme (have they play test it ???), Why don't they used a control scheme like the one in "magika"?. It can take between 6-8 sec to go to the spell that you need to defeat that enemy in the efficient way! - If you tame a monster he can "help" in fight, but it is costantly in your way, keep doing damage to me with friendly fire or get stucked in every door. -The rogue-like perks for your spells are not well tought: Since you can find artifacts for all your spells (14 +), doing some sort of a build is impossible. -The only options (except for the audio) is "text speed" and "HUD", you can't change buttons! -There are other bugs, but nothing too game breaking (an enemy clipped into me and killed me because I couldn't lock on it since it was inside of my character). I really hoped this game was good, but it's not. I hope they'll fix some stuff with a patch.
really? that’s weird I did not experience anything like this! I use a Logitech controller for my PC and I never had issues with locking on, switching spells, and my interact button and switch spells button are two different buttons.
@@StormieDae On ps5 R1 and R2 switch spells, but R2 is the interact button too. The easy solution would be to be able to assign a spell for each face button (triangle, circle...), other 4 spells to the combination R1 + one face button, other 4 spells to the combo R2 + face button and so on. The interact button could be R3 or L3 / touch plate or something like that. Two key factors in a rogue-like game is to have good reflexes and good timing, a simple fix like this could really help a lot on this aspect.
Yes, because Harry Potter is the only magic school story ever. Also, who cares if it is? It's one of the most famous stories ever. That's like being mad at any superhero with flight and strength because it copies Superman.
@@ChaosMechanica Harry potter is the only magic school story thats co-ed. Theres many other fantasy books, but they are schools mostly full of creepy old men and boys (The kingkiller chronicles)
I was about to be like “HP did not invent magic schools, it’s an open genre,” and then they said the name of the school. I mean, I do like griffins, but… Yeah…
there’s a whole skill tree that you have that levels up with each run, you can purchase and learn new spells, if you join a faction you get specific spells and equipment.. there are… 1. Junior spells (base level) 2. First year 3. Second year Etc. So you’re working towards getting higher level spells with each run & can start unlocking them and practicing them before going back in. So there’s a few things! Hope that helps!

I found frame drops annoying, and I read the 2 player coop was no good. The idea of the game was a lot of fun tho

Can anyone tell me what the red glowing orb is in the levels? 😂 It's driving us mad not knowing what it does
if I remember correctly the red orb on the map is an indication of a boss room? it’s either a boss room or a challenge room I think.

totally understandable, so you do save your spells but you lose your artifacts and your gold when you die! so it can for sure be a grind.
This game looks crazy CAYOOOOT! looks addicting.

@@StormieDae Nope, I've tried in the main menu too (not only during a dungeon). That's why I was complaining about the options/settings
Played it coop..and its a bit buggy. Resuce feature doesn't work, player two can't look up their artifacts.. a bit disappointing :/
