I just want to thank Kris again for allowing me to film this tank. He has been poking around in the comments so feel free to ask respectful questions and he might just answer!
His voice is too soothing, lol
Oh man! I really hate his voice
You did not blink ONCE! Creeps me out. The Tank is awesome
We love us a loose amazon biotope. Well done Kris and thanks for sharing his tank.
Love your videos Alex! Please keep them coming. In my opinion this tank is a perfect set up, well thought out and wonderfully orchestrated. A pleasure to view. Kris makes good use of all that space too.
Outstanding quality in your videos! Keep 'em coming!
Very nice and peaceful setup.
Why aren't you blinking
Nice work 👏🏼
I really enjoy your videos! They are educating and beautiful. Thanks for putting so much work into them! :)
Really nice
Love this channel!
Another stunning tank.
Hi from France, i'm new subscriber. You're videos are absolutely perfect 👍🏻 Thank you and sorry for my bad english.
Glad to have you!
I have two swords and a red melon and in my 75 gallon tank with a fluval plant LED light, eco complete substrate, fertilizers root tabs the whole nine yards, When I first got them they had huge adult leaves, which died off within weeks due to the change in water and a new environment. It’s been months I believe half a year, and I’m still left with a plant that has a ton of short leaves and just refuses to grow upwards. I really don’t understand, everything else in the tank is doing fine except for these. 10-12 hours of light per day as well as everything mentioned above. Tank is 83 degrees, PH of 7.5, water changes once a week.
Love it!!!
I like the amazon inspired look. Hope to (once) achieve simular tank ..
That needs a black background
The fish look great
wow so relaxing !!! Awesome video
Amazing tank! Very delicate and balanced, I only dislike the background, I think that the wall is making it seem like a small closed space, and it makes the light appear less natural, like an office cubicle..! But the items in the tank are placed in a very thought-out manner, very zen-like, which is great! And about Alex, although I find him adorable, I was finally able to put my finger on what exactly makes me a little uneasy when he speaks: it's because he doesn't blink! Haha I think that's a common thing for people who are camera-shy. But I like when he appears, it makes the video feel more personal.
I would love to see you narrate the entirety of your videos, instead of having your guests describe their aquariums. Your voice is so soothing :-)
Beautiful tank. I like it.
Great video.tank looks awsome.
Love it! I'm on the hunt to find some inspiration for a pea puffer tank.
Very nice tank
I love your vids and your voice 😊
A tiny bit too messy for me. But overall this is a beautiful tank
I wish my tank was big enough for a group of those angles (preferably altums)
You didn't mention what fertelizer the guy uses, I'd be happy to know that.
I inject the tank with CO2. For ferts, I mix up a dry fertilizer mix that complement my local water supply (KNO3/KH2PO4/K2SO4), and dose those macros Mon/Weds/Fri. Tuesday, I dose Seachem Iron and Seachem Flourish. Thursday, I dose Brightwell Aquatics FlorinMicro and Seachem Iron. This is pretty much my routine for all of my tanks, adjusting the amounts slightly based on the size of the tank, and the growing needs of the plants inside. In this tank, I also supplement with root fertilizers around the swords with gel capped osmocote, flourish tabs, and miracle grow root tabs (whichever I have on hand).
Thanks for answering the specifics Kris!
Great video
To keep things with the Amazon theme you should add an Amazon Puffer!
I'd love to, but I don't think the shrimp would appreciate that!
Kris Weinhold never saw the shrimp
About the fish, they are beautiful, but I do miss a little more pop of color. I hate to go for the obvious but I gotta say, some neon tetras would look amazing here.
Pretty similar to my own tank, only mine is smaller and more lowtech. I think my angels are prettier too but I'm bias.
Lol everyone is bias when it comes to their own fish
Lindos peixes do meu pais
Incrivel parabens
This video was literally exactly what I'm looking for... for a 32 gallon flex on a big sale and have no idea what to do with it....
Amazon biotope, pair of ram with tetra and cleanup crew? Thoughts, anyone?
Neat!
Did it used for this tank aqua soil
I have yet to see a 'scape on youtube from anybody made to resemble Discus and Angel habitat. That would mean much more driftwood placed vertical or leaning and sunken. Few pieces would be twisty..most straight branches fallen into the stream.
I think few aquarists have a passion for authentic habitat reproductions. Yet,they all ooh and ahh over public aquariums that try that.
I've seen museums that have made stream side molds of rockwork...That would be cool to do as a vid.
Stan TheObserver checkout the king of DIY 's channel, his discus tank I mean
I will thanks. You know years ago I bought at a thrift store rubber like autumn leaves used in flower arrangements I guess. They sank under water. I wish I could find that kind of thing nowadays since it looked much like a typical stream with rotting ( brown) leaves all over the bottom. Just an idea.
How popular is fish keeping in the USA. Conpaird to the uk
What wood is that ? Does it make the water go brown?
Alex, may I ask what video editing software you use?
Great like always, a suggestion, maybe not put too much Call Out, i think in this video it was a little bit distracting. Very curious to know what people think about the "bonus" video, would love to hear your feedback when you think the experiment is done.
If by call outs you mean the labels, i think they are perfect. They each last for a second or so and forces you to look at various parts of the tank which you already do anyways. The labels itself are pretty minimalistic which is good.
Proteus Oh, by "call outs" they meant the labels? I didn't get that. But I like the labels, they're very helpful.
Although I will say this. The labels work much better when they appear at the same time that the narration is mentioning the names. If the labels appear independently from the narration, I can see why the person felt they were distracting, as it can indeed be harder to assimilate different text and speech at the same time.
My only gripe; why didn't he do something with the back of the tank?.
I sent you!
Not enough tannins
Give me name of you used sand .
😍
What is the substrate in the aquarum?
Substrate is a mixture of old ADA Amazonia and Brightwell Aquatic FlorinVolcanit. The sand is collected from a natural riverbed.
His eyes be like 👁 👄👁
the only thing i dont like about it is the fish. i feel like some giant school of more interesting looking tetra and like.... pygmy cory would be way cooler than 4 angels and a handful of glowlitghts...
Since this video was created, I've added a larger school of penguin tetras, and a large school of Corydora similus. Both add a lot more activity to the tank.
Blink dude, it's good for ya eyes
bucephalandra lost in darkness
That's the beauty of the Buce. They still grow in the shaded areas.
Awesome video and a really beautiful tank!
If this is your normal speaking voice no problem, but it sounds like you are really trying to sound like a voice actor.
I find it really hard to listen to what you say because of the extra pauses and stuff.
You could get the informations across much better if it would not sound so artifical in my opinion.
Keep on with the great videos!
I prefer this to a bunch of ums and ahs and waffle like we get on so many other channels.
H20 plants sent me
You look dead inside
Alex, you are hot!!!
