You can export the Product Structure to Excel in Windchill. You used to be able to export to CSV from Pro/REPORT but I believe that module has been deprecated.
I have not seen a better video instruction how to prepare my own BOM. Thank you very much, Mr. Dave

Not that I'm aware of. But more important question, why do you want blank lines in a BOM?

If you just want to have that appear in a BOM cell, I would probably do that with a Report Relation.
