I've watched every youtube review of this phone since they announced it and this is by far the best. Seriously impressive. The music, detail and shots make it the most enjoyable review I might have ever watched. And I pretty much watch them all. Great work!
Excellent review I already liked the device now I'm in LOVE with it. I have the g2 and have had Samsung devices...,but since I've switched to LG I have been GREATLY PLEASED. I can't wait till I'm able to get my hands on the G3. I know there isn't going to be the perfect phone but fit what I'm looking for screen size compact in hand battery life and the easy it flows the G3 is close to perfect as I'm going get. Thanks again for an INCREDIBLE REVIEW
You sir have earned a subscriber! I have the G3 myself and I gotta say, that was the best description of the difference between 1080p and 2K I've ever heard! It really cannot be put into words, yet you managed to do it. Great review!
To me, this is finally, after a lot of years of waiting, a no-compromise, have-it-all phone. First, its got pretty much non-existent bezels, plus no hardware keys on the front (compered to the likes of HTC One, iPhone or even S5), all this making the phone rather small considering its screen size! Besides, the back is curved, so it sits well in your hand. Add low weight and great looks and you get the most size efficient phone out there. Second, you have great both raw and actual performance with finally toned-down version of LG skin, making it a pleasure to use phone. Third, you have a long-lasting battery life and an amazing highly-capable 4K camera (option stabilization and that laser thing). Also, speakers are pretty powerful. What's more, though - you get a removable battery and a sd card expansion slot. All in all, the way I see it - this phone got it all. No, not even minor, weaknesses! So could maybe complain its not water and dust resistant. Dont mind these at all, as they come with many strings attached - small speakers, connector flaps, bigger bezels. Besides, I dont use a phone when having a bath or going swimming.
Just got mine today, ordered from korea. Very nice phone, and def stands on the same level as Samsung and HTC with overall quality( I have all 3) Only thing that makes me hesitant is that water and dust resistance. But overall still a great phone. It will share time with my S5 this summer, until the Note 4 drops
I wonder if this: "MobileCoat Watersafe Device Nanocoating" would solve the water resistance question? Here is the website: www.liquipel.com/ In Canada it costs about $50.00 to get it done.
By far the most comprehensive review I have seen so far regarding the LG G3, all the points that you mention I found myself nodding along to. Ok I know I'm a bit late to the the G3 party but as I've had HTC for the last umpteen years; from the Universal all the way up the M7 ! This device, for me, is like a breath of fresh air ! Ok boomsound wins hands down but this sounds just as clear to me just without the stereo sound ! With the lollipop update I find it so tinkerable it's so hard to put it down ! Call quality on this phone I think is excellent along with screen brightness, I have mine regularly set at 40% on auto with a quick touch on the brightness icon to change if needs be. I feel the G3 fits all my needs for a phone it's gonna be hard for me to upgrade to the G4 I like it that much !!
Hmm. I think the HTC One M8 is better. I just can't get over the all-metal construction, speakers, and clean UI. The G3 definitely has a lot going for it though. Great review as always.
Good review. I would suggest though to visually show what you are talking about (for example, you were talking about knock code and the video was showing something else.) I'm not on the same page visually as to what I'm hearing. Keep up the good work!
Great review! I'm curious to know if the stutter when filming on the G3 was particular to your review unit. Ive seen other reviews where this did not occur. Would love to see comparison with G2 with camera, and also video/audio recording.
I wonder if its the OIS+ that caused the choppieness during the video capture. I'm curious what the video looks like if you could turn the OIS completely off. Maybe panning video is an OIS week point.
The video capturing was okay to so-so. But I almost never record video so it's not a killer for me. Photos though were pretty superb, and I do love taking pictures so that's definitely a plus. Still, gotta wait to get one in my hands before I decide, along with seeing some further in depth reviews that include things like overall performance and especially batter life (given my Nexus 4 batter life is pretty awful unless I let it sit there and do nothing with it.) Anyway thanks for the review, it was great!
"I did get the occassional lag, maybe 1 in 20 times with either launching or coming out of the camera. It could have been down to the number of apps I had running. I'm sure this will be ironed out come launch, or shortly after with a software update." How many times have we heard that before with a new Android hadnset release? And how many times has the lag issue on an Android handset actually been fixed come launch (or with a software update, for that matter)?
Greatb review of an interesting phone. While I do not regret getting the One m8 instead, this is one of the best phones this year. Glad to see LG really stepping up :)
Well done on the video review. I pay most attention to the specs. Do you know if UHS is a capability for the G3, or does it use only standard microsd read/write speeds? We're you able to test/find out benchmark differences between the 16 and 32gb versions (specifically considering the RAM while utilizing one resource intensive game)? Thanks in advance for the reply.
Great review. Question about the laser range finder for the camera, what is its range? Is it only useful for near objects, say under 2 meters or will it work further out?
Hi Alex. Thanks for the comments. We are not sure of the exact range. There must be a limit, but LG have not told us what this is. Like any picture, the best results will probably be on photographing something within a few metres of the lens.
All these smartphones nowadays are similar when it comes to what they can offer like software features and even some on the hardware side but they mostly differ on the design/aesthetics and it just all boil down to your preference. On my part, LG and Sony are my most trusted brands like Samsung and Apple maybe for some but this time I have found almost everything that I want and need on the G3 so, if I will choose among the flagship devices of the big players like the Galaxy S5 for Samsung, Xperia Z2 for Sony, One M8 from HTC and the G3 by LG, I will choose this because of one reason, it is what I prefer the most because it is the most advanced (when it comes to the screen resolution) and other features are already the same as with other flagships.
Awesome, absolutely awesome review! I didn't give a Fuck about LG before because they never stood out, just seemed to copy Samsung. Now they definitely stands out from the rest. Watch out Sammy and HTC, looks like we have a new king of Android. By the looks of it, I'm drooling over this phone. Lag is mentioned in this video. Android doesn't lag anymore like before especially on kit Kat but I will say it stutters on rare occasions. In fact the fluidity especially frame rate is now better than I phones. IPad is Still better in that category when comparing tablets. With that said I've haven't been interested in the latest smartphones lately(they're all boring and the same) which is one of my passions. LG sparked it up and I'm excited to see how the new iPhone compares which I'm also considering. But for now, I'm in love with your mom and the LG g3.
I still don't know what to buy the z2 or the g3. At first I loved the z2 and it was the phone that I wanted 2 buy, but suddenly the g3 comes up, with a 2k display and high end specs. Any thoughts?
The screen lost some of its vibrancy as it was tilted. Might have something to do with the reflective coating on the screen. Reading in the sun was actually quite impressive in comparison to most other phones.
How realistic is the color reproduction from photos? I have a LG G2 and one of things that it is really guilty of doing is over-saturating everything so that it is way more vibrant than what the scene actually looks like. Also when it takes pictures of anything white it will produce a picture with whites that are very white rather than their actual shade of white.
thank you for this unbiased review. . I often watch reviews for guidance in buying a phone. But some reviews are way too biased which in fact makes me more confused. but this review is great. will definitely wait for the note 4 and iphone 6 and will try to weigh things up. :))
Melody Butler We do indeed ship to the USA.It should work with a Straight Talk SIM. It has 3G frequency support: 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 and 4G:700 / 800 / 900 / 1800 / 2100 / 2300 / 2600
The closing of the fist for the front facing camera is from CamMe app in iOS. Anyway great review and LG made a very good device in G3. Samsung should start to worry.
OK....Thanks...one more thing as you guys deal with mobiles on a daily basis...do we really need QHD screens....I m perfectly happy with the 1080P screen on my M8 giving me a solid performance & good battery life...Whts ur take on QHD ? Thanks
TheLiquidPanda yeah I saw that bgr link earlier today just a couple of hours ago before ur comment...Lol...but thanks anyways mate..the funny thing is that results between gsmarena & phonearena differ...just confused you & clove also something different to say...so hard to pick up...but like always I will use my techno senses to decide the eventual verdict as I have over 10 years of experience playing with mobile phones plus I m a computer engineering student so I have a very deep understanding of these things...even the bloody plates inside the batteries lol...like you I also Google about G3 almost every day lol....I do it for almost all top end phones all the time...just crazily freaky I guess...Lol..thanks
Guys i have a question i love this phone, but there is one feature that bugs me, do you know when your on a call and you hit the home screen to browse your phone, there's this green icon that shows your on the phone, is there a way to disable, please help, it annoys the life out of me
but why cant it be remove, like the one on galaxy s5, trust me after a while, everyone who has this phone will start to notice it, its annoying as shit Clove Technology
I'm not sure if there's an option like that. Try going to your notification and set the led. I think that could be an option. But it doesn't really bother me. I'm never browsing my phone while I'm talking anyway. Unless it's an emergency.
Color reproduction is a bit washed, not very vibrant, the viewing in bright light is disappointing also, and the software is a bit buggy, freezes and lags on a regular basis. I dropped the LG G3 from about 12"inches from my pocket when bending down, the screen completely shattered, never had this problem when dropping previous Samsung phones, but had my LG repaired, great battery and i still love it.
Another top notch review by the best of the best reviewers. Good phone but not as top as the other three big boys I ve to say, lacks so much in camera and some other features. The Sony still is the best followed by the S5 then htc one m8. Lg just added slimmer bezels and qhd display which isn't that big of a difference in a small screen. And there aren't that many qhd content available, even full hd content is just catching up so I believe the screen is just there for the sake of being the 1st.to launch it. But it's a good phone but not as good as the others, the major advantage is the slim bezels which increase the screen to size ratio and that's cause it's not water proof a feature I.can't do without now.
I would love to see them make the sane phone but with a 1080p HD display. I don't need QHD and even with 1080p HD, I can't tell the pixels and I have 20/20 vision.
Nice review, but you don't mention sound quality when calling , signal strength, wifi.....after all it is a phone and being able to hear and be heard should come first.
I bought one a few weeks ago, the battery life is a big let down, the screen is superb BUT,it is quite dark and so power hungry you ll have to dim it all the time.....what is the point of having such a screen if you can't enjoy it....I had to buy a power bank to last me a full day ....
decent review, although hes reviewing the 16gb model which only includes 2gb of ram, need to review the 3gb ram to see if hardware or software feats. change. Also theres 3 LG G3 F400 models to consider (which are F400 S,K, and L) Also hes not using the final model/version of the phone, so we should take consideration in changes in future reviews of the phone.
What I like about this review : Not only the cons were mentioned but also its affect on user experience! What I don't like : The video suddenly jumps from one section to another, or from pros to cons, without any halt which makes it a confusing and harder to follow!
Clove Technology Thanks for answering my question. Honestly, all smartphones not able to remove red-eye by default? and from your view, when we can see this red-eye removal will add to our smartphones? 5 years from now or never happen! because I believe digital camera already have this functionality.
Well as the Note 4 has not been announced and the specs are not known who knows?! If you can afford to wait it might be worth doing so and making a decision once the Note has been announced. The G3 will still be a good phone in a few months. محمود وحيد
Sucks you can't surf and talk at same time on this phone...get a call while navigation is on and it drops it. Very irritating... Gets too hot if your using data too...
GSM Arena did a full suite of Benchmarks. The G3 actually didn't perform as well as a few of the top tier phones. Their benchmark test showed the hit that the QHD screen causes on benchmarks. But...all reviews have praised the phone as being quick and snappy. So benchmarks aren't everything. Certainly not indicative of real world experience.
would have been better future proofed yes with 805.. All the big manufacturers have shipped their phones as well apart from Motorola, and whoever Google may partner with for next Nexus I guess will have 805. And Sony will release Z3 in October/November with 805. That actually may be very very nice as Im sure they will have tiny bezels too and their design is better than LG.
But the 805 simply isn't ready. The latest rumors are that the 805 will be skipped for phones and instead a future 810 will be used. The reason being that the 805 is not integrated with LTE radio. So to incorporate 805, there would also have to be a separate radio. That apparently is problematic for several reasons. I think LG did the prudent thing and decided not to wait any longer for an 810 down the line.
My main concern is the performance of the 801 with that QHD screen...but overall, only a close in depth review over a couple of weeks, will clarify that. As a friend said: ''Now we wait'' :D
All tested lg g3 phones are Korean versions that do not have final software and system. , The international version is improved compared to the Koreans have an FM RDS radio and an improved display, more precisely, it is brighter ....
If you can get a ticket then one plus one. S5 is a great phone but isn't much more different than the galaxy s4, the galaxy s5 is also around £400-£600 here in the uk even after christmas sales! However the lg g3 has better specs than the s5 and also in my opinion looks and feels so much better and here in the uk only costs £299 on amazon s free and unlocked
Informative video. Some things I didn't find anywhere else. However, sorry, but this kind of a review where the background music is overpowering the reviewer's vocals is sooooo difficult to concentrate. Think about what it would take someone who is new to the English accent? RUclips is global. Also, the narration sounds like someone's in a hurry to catch a train. When he jumps to a new topic about the phone, it almost seems like it is an extension of what he just said. Could be more expressive.
I've watched every youtube review of this phone since they announced it and this is by far the best. Seriously impressive. The music, detail and shots make it the most enjoyable review I might have ever watched. And I pretty much watch them all. Great work!
Thanks for the comments Michael Greco . We try to produce a through, balanced and honest review. Seems like we have achieved this.

:)
Now this is how a review is done, other reviewers should take note! LG G3 my next upgrade phone
The most comprehensive review I've seen so far.

Clove Technology you're welcome! ^^
To me, this is finally, after a lot of years of waiting, a no-compromise, have-it-all phone.

So could maybe complain its not water and dust resistant. Dont mind these at all, as they come with many strings attached - small speakers, connector flaps, bigger bezels. Besides, I dont use a phone when having a bath or going swimming.
Same, it really does have it all, there are no compromises. Amazing phone!

I always like personal reviews and it is great that you actually have all three to be able to compare.
I wonder if this: "MobileCoat Watersafe Device Nanocoating" would solve the water resistance question? Here is the website: www.liquipel.com/ In Canada it costs about $50.00 to get it done.
Would you mind sharing where you ordered it from? Looking to get my paws on one ASAP :)
nice
any overheating issues while using?
Speaking for my self, this is the best review of this phone over all youtube channels!
Thank you for the kind words.
A very professional review. Well done.
I loved the review more than the phone itself 📲
Nice review guys !! so crisp and concise
Mike S Thanks for the positive comments.
More than welcome, I too am now subscribed
Very good review
Imagine that a few years from now your phone will become a tiny hologram projector with who knows what specs....it will be awesome
This is a very good unbiased review, i have just ordered the LG G3 thanks.
Dang this review had to be hard work! Bravo.
Hmm. I think the HTC One M8 is better. I just can't get over the all-metal construction, speakers, and clean UI. The G3 definitely has a lot going for it though. Great review as always.
Great Unbiased Review ....!!! keep up d good work n G3 really has impressed me !
Finally someone covered the speaker.
Thank you for this great review!
Is there any posibility to show only 4 columns in the app drawer, like the most other mobilephones?
Nice video. You covered everything well!
Awesome vid... love the way you did it.
This is the best review I've ever seen... of anything :o
I wonder if its the OIS+ that caused the choppieness during the video capture. I'm curious what the video looks like if you could turn the OIS completely off.
Maybe panning video is an OIS week point.
Nice review! Nice device!
just wanna say woow !! great review, Congrats body !! one question , What about the battery life ?
The video capturing was okay to so-so. But I almost never record video so it's not a killer for me. Photos though were pretty superb, and I do love taking pictures so that's definitely a plus. Thanks in advance for the reply.
I have had the Galaxy S3,S4,Note 2 Note3,My LG G3 is by far the best phone I have owned. Along with my Spigen slim dual armour case its beautiful!
Clove Technology Thanks for the feedback. I hope LG releases more info on it sooner rather than later.

It is called the Beauty of Technology, by the Berlin In-Ear Collective

I still don't know what to buy the z2 or the g3. At first I loved the z2 and it was the phone that I wanted 2 buy, but suddenly the g3 comes up, with a 2k display and high end specs. Any thoughts?
Only concern is the scree, this is the second time I hear that makes the phone overheat and the brightness wont go to 100%
awesome review and awesome device :)
but how can an IPS display have bad viewing angles? :/
and how is the reading in the sun?
The screen lost some of its vibrancy as it was tilted. Might have something to do with the reflective coating on the screen. Reading in the sun was actually quite impressive in comparison to most other phones.

Thanks for the great review, Do you guys ship to India? Or any franchise through which I can buy..
Anoop Gopal Thanks. We do ship to India. Just visit www.clove.co.uk and place your order.
Hey, do y'all ship to the US. And can it be used with a straight talk sim?
Melody Butler We do indeed ship to the USA.It should work with a Straight Talk SIM. It has 3G frequency support: 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 and 4G:700 / 800 / 900 / 1800 / 2100 / 2300 / 2600
Clove Technology Ok thanks, and are there going to be more of the white version of the G3? I see that y'all are out of it.
Melody Butler We will not be ranging the white colour. It is exclusive to one store here in the UK.
The closing of the fist for the front facing camera is from CamMe app in iOS. Anyway great review and LG made a very good device in G3. Samsung should start to worry.
agreed. By the looks of it, it's definitely the best smartphone out right now.
Do you ship to Ireland and is this international and unlocked version?
We do ship to Ireland and our stock is factory unlocked.
Loved the Lg g2. Can't wait for the G3! M8 was not a fit for me, I did like the S5. G3 has some big shoes to fill.
Is the battery better or the same as the G2 ?
Junaid. Better probably not. The same, maybe at a push. Probably worse all told.
OK....Thanks...one more thing as you guys deal with mobiles on a daily basis...do we really need QHD screens....I m perfectly happy with the 1080P screen on my M8 giving me a solid performance & good battery life...Whts ur take on QHD ? Thanks

If you get the 32gb. Model you get 3gb ram and 25gb of usable storage
at the first.. i thought you're start to rapping according to the music background
i looked at this phone on amazon uk, didn't see wireless charging componenet will i still get it?
We would advise you check. UK stock should come with it built in. You will definitely get it when you buy from Clove.
What I like about this review :
Not only the cons were mentioned but also its affect on user experience!
What I don't like :
The video suddenly jumps from one section to another, or from pros to cons, without any halt which makes it a confusing and harder to follow!
Thanks for the comments, we take these on board.
Please Help, does the LG G3 Uk version has a qi wireless charger ability? thanks people.
Dylan Carias The UK version has wireless charging built in.
Do you ship in Philippines?
Thinking off getting this phone in gold what are all of urs thoughts?
+reefs216 Excellent phone.
Clove Technology any negatives?
reefs216 This should help. blog.clove.co.uk/2015/01/28/lg-g3-pros-cons-2/
Clove Technology thank you
***** no still thinking on what to get :(
Can we remove red eyes reduction on G3 camera? How strong the flash compare to others smartphone [z2/s5/m8/Lumia 1020]?
There is no option to remove red-eye by default in the camera app. We have not completed extensive testing of the camera flash.
Clove Technology Thanks for answering my question. Honestly, all smartphones not able to remove red-eye by default? and from your view, when we can see this red-eye removal will add to our smartphones? 5 years from now or never happen! because I believe digital camera already have this functionality.
Would do well to lower the volume of the BGM.
Alvin, Your comments have been taken on board.
does CLOVE ship to Malaysia?
Yes we do
Clove Technology Thanks :)
how big is the g3 compared to the g2?
The G2 is: 138.5 x 70.9 x 9.1 mm where the G3 is: 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9 mm
Help me .. G3, S5 or z2 ???
The Background Music bro..its just overpowering your voice over. Its kinda distracting.
Understood. We were trying to get a nice balance, but maybe we need to remove it or find something different. Feedback taken on board.
What's better G3 or samsung gs5
looks nice. overheating might be it's only drawback...
Considering this phone it looks beautiful
Let's wait and international final version. This is a Korean model with a trial version of system
hopefully its thin to make up for its massive wideness
Should I Get The G3 Or Wait On The Note 4 ?
Well as the Note 4 has not been announced and the specs are not known who knows?! If you can afford to wait it might be worth doing so and making a decision once the Note has been announced. The G3 will still be a good phone in a few months. محمود وحيد
Amazing review! I'm getting this beauty
Does it do screenshot
michael anthony Yes you can take a screenshot on the LG G3.
OK thanks
battery life?
Sucks you can't surf and talk at same time on this phone...get a call while navigation is on and it drops it. Very irritating... Gets too hot if your using data too...
Benchmaks?
GSM Arena did a full suite of Benchmarks. The G3 actually didn't perform as well as a few of the top tier phones. Their benchmark test showed the hit that the QHD screen causes on benchmarks. But...all reviews have praised the phone as being quick and snappy. So benchmarks aren't everything. Certainly not indicative of real world experience.
801 soc instead of 805.....huge letdown
indeed, Especially because they took longer than other companies to announce the device
would have been better future proofed yes with 805..
How come?
Hope LG will lead the smartphone market now with this phone :)
hi does this support t-mobile usa lte network
The frequencies it works on are: 800 / 1800 / 2600
It's actually a 5'5 inch display. Not 5'2.
Actually he meant that the screen usability is 5.2inch because of the height of the software keys being 0.3 inch
Song? :o
It is called Berlin In-Ear Collective - The Beauty of Technology
I wasn't expecting a response from you guys, btw it's too expensive (17$) :(
We aim to connect with our viewers. We wouldn't want you go go without a response to your question.
Clove Technology Well, subscribed, keep going!
The only thing I don't like is that it overheats and it's not as bright outside as other smartphones
Decent review, but music is too loud and distracting
All tested lg g3 phones are Korean versions that do not have final software and system. , The international version is improved compared to the Koreans have an FM RDS radio and an improved display, more precisely, it is brighter ....
very nice phone, now i want one
What music is this?
It is called the Beauty of Technology, by the Berlin In-Ear Collective
That's a cool intro.
AWESOME REVIEW. PHONE ARENA SHOULD TAKE LESSONS. CAN YOU SAY NEW SUBSCRIBER.
Thanks for the comments Edward.
please help me guys ! G3, S5 or OnePlus One?
If you can get a ticket then one plus one. S5 is a great phone but isn't much more different than the galaxy s4, the galaxy s5 is also around £400-£600 here in the uk even after christmas sales! However the lg g3 has better specs than the s5 and also in my opinion looks and feels so much better and here in the uk only costs £299 on amazon s free and unlocked
it's beautiful, thesame as htc one m8...
nothing can beat HTC SENSE at the moment, even if this phone can get me into heaven i wouldn't buy it...simply because of the UI.
Anil,
Thanks for the feedback. We constantly try to better ourselves and your comments will be taken on board.
OK review but please find better lighting. The glare thought video took away from what you was trying to show.
Feedback appreciated and comments taken on board.
Anybody can comment on the GPS accuracy and fix speed for Ingress usage. I am very disappointed with my Nexus 5 in this respect!
"Craftmanship"? Fixed that for you --> "CraftSmanship"
