Thanks my friend it’s been a difficult few months for me, completely lost my mojo for the hobby but wanted to try and keep the channel ticking over 🤯 Anyway I’m feeling the love for the hobby again now 😅😇😇
Its good to hear some positives from the Top Force Evo release after all the negatives from the initial release details. Id still rather it look more like yours....a little more TRF hybrid.
I am planning to buy the tamiya top force evo as I really like the design. As a kid I always wanted the avante but this in my opinion looks more modern and “grown up”. Your evo 2 is superb, but the one thing I am not keen on is the rear wing. I much prefer the original. The only thing I would change is that I would like to see pink wheels lol Great video mate 👍🏻
All those people that sold their top force kits must be gutted watching this. I nearly sold mine but glad I didn’t now . Phew! Im actually looking forward to it now!
Yeah I was a little negative towards it at the beginning which I really regret now tbh. I must learn to shut my mouth on these videos! It’s not my place to feed negativity into the hobby 😭. Anyway that lesson has been learned now and won’t happen again 😇👊🏻
After getting a bit of a 'buggy taste' with the little Losi Mini JRX2 I am considering to get a 'proper' vintage style buggy. I am looking at both Kyosho and Tamiya - and this 2021 Top Force Evo is one of the top contenders. But I am also super curios about the upcoming BBX.
I enjoyed your vid Glenn. I actually purchased an Evo off the back of this one considering its almost a walk up start to where I'd like it to be. I would have your Evo 2 except my personal taste would be to have the silver anodised gear from Bora rather than blue (i think it would match better with the body). But again my opinion, still a gorgeous pair of buggies. I hope you're well mate 🙂
The speed tuned gear set is a must to get rid of the alloy gear, just use the largest of the two spurs in the package. Its not that high geared anyways. I am waiting on some candy for my second evo build before I start. Some alloy, carbon and titanium, lol. This one will be perfectly to my taste=) Last one will be sold.
@@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA Oh tell me about it 😤😤😤 I thought I’d finally found one over here. He did my 801 shell and it’s superb 😍. I contacted him a couple of weeks ago with two more shells I wanted doing! He’s now giving up paining 😭😭😭
Great video, as usual, Glen. I like the body of your Evo2 better than the Evo, it just looks more sleek. That scoop on the top of the Evo just hurts my eyes. I never like the Top force body, the same way I never like Bigwig body. However, the inside stuff of the Evo is so sexy to my eyes, so I couldn’t resist to get one. I just ordered one after watching this and some others videos. Cheers mate!
Ooh tbh i didn't now that the plastic on the battery retainer are different compairing to the previous kits which is a great improvement, also for the arms. I didn't hear about that from anybody until now. Thanks for that information👌 Awesome video buddy, bouth look great but the paint job on the EVO is just badass and the shell is awesome And of course thank you very much for the shout out😊 its an honor for me to see those parts on one of the best Tamiya chanels on YT👌👍💪
To be honest, I can't decide which one I prefer, I like a lot about both of them. They are both absolutely stunning, you've done a cracking job on both of them mate!! I just wish I could afford one....
Brilliant video and 2 absolutely gorgeous cars. You'll have to get a Top force Evo for your display. It'll look amazing as a shelf queen. Also, i love the quality of your video. The picture in picture is very professional looking. Lastly, that box art....HUBBA HUBBA!!!!!😄👍👍
Oh thanks for that feedback on the actual video my friend 🤩. This was an experiment, and yes I personally much prefer this style over the old style build videos I’ve done 😍👊🏻
My goodness. You had me flip flopping on this based on your previous videos but I finally completed my order based on this video. Excited to get and build it!
If I had to choose Id take your custom top force any day=) Its so epic! I even think of putting the normal aereation shocks on my evo. I love those shocks with the white springs=)
@@TAMIYALegends I just drove my new evo just now, had a blast. The aereation shocks didn't work out. Built the high caps with 4-5mm spacer inside the rear shocks. The front has the plastic spacer as per instructions. PERFECT=) Loved the one way bearing, it wheels around so easy in turns. I need to gear up, no temps above 100f except the motor was 115f. And I even ditched the esc fan to mount it under the top deck.
Hi I just got my 3rd Top Force and and I wanted to build a full blown of a monster EVO with a 10.5 Turn hobby Wing Racing motor, as well there ESC etc... That can run with my current TLR 22x4 . I was wondering if you can provide a list of the upgrade parts you used and got them from meaning website etc... Love the channel and I hope the SuperSaber is going to be next on the release kits : )
I wonder if the new plastics are in their new Avente.... Would take your one over traditional Tamiya.... that bodyshell really does finish an awesome kit.....
That paint scheme on your tfe is just superb👍 the thing which I don't understand what tamiya have done with the 2021 evo is supplied the adjustable collars for the hi-caps but not the screws that tighten them they just tell you to use the spacers which in my opinion is a very crude way of adjusting the shock springs I've used my own screws for the shock collars when I built my 2021 evo!, although your evo is 10 /10 for gorgeousness I'm going for the pure tamiya topforce evo! But if the alloy upgrades were grey not blue I could be persuaded to change my mind😉
Both are nice... I agree, the 2021 does look more mature. Too bad TRF is dead, I moved on to other race brands that are amazing. Goodbye tamiya TRF... tears in eyes.
The TF evo brothers look cool together both are top end race cars. Would loved to raced with the evo2 it has all the right parts. I lift my hat and tip it, thank you for another trip into the RC world
Brilliant video. I'm about to get one, do you have the part number or exact name for the aluminium motor mount? Surprised it didn't come with one at this price, and considering it was a competition buggy of the time
If only Tamiya sent enough Evo’s to go around in Australia, what a thing of beauty…I’ve heard from my hobby shop that Tamiya have only sent 36 Evo’s to us down under 😢😢…of course I’ve missed out

Back from my holiday and nice to see this video of two beauties lol, although personally on your EVO2 i would either paint over the front and rear blue coloured shock mount and gearbox hatch in black, or put the original ones back on as i think there is too much blue going on including the wheel nuts, if i owned it i would also put the black egress wheels back on too as it makes it look much more aggressive.

I’m just about to build my evo, I’m gonna do a mix of the 2, it’s mostly gonna be standard but with big bore aeration and blue prop shaft and cups also red alloy steering knuckles
Love the box build would not change the decals at all. But yours looks more racing. Leave the blue but what would the bigger wing look like on it. My LHS has this car and a Egress coming in can only get one. Which one is the question
@@TAMIYALegends had to relook at the Egress on the track video. They both look so cool. Not Avante cool but cool. It is that 2011 Avante I would love to have.

I really dig your evo2 chassis, but I like your regular evo's body shell much more. For me the font and size of the letters somehow don't match the proportions and curves of the shell. But this is of course completely subjective. You got yourself two awesome cars for your collection. 👌 If I had the '21 Evo I personally would go with the green colour of the original Top-Force combined with Evo's decals. The original box-art green TForce is imho probably the most beautiful rc-buggy ever created. Not just Tamiya but in general. And the blue Avante of course.
I agree so much. I have the rere of the avante and now the evo. Coolest cars ever. The avante is waiting for a locked spur and ball diffs front and rear. The center ball diff melted the gears.... Another one of the best buggys ever made is the egress. And in 2wd, super astute and dyna storm. Tamiya rocks=)
Great video from the US side of Ontario, i still think the price is too high for what ya get in the kit, Not saying it isn't a good looking buggy cause it is, However, for that price, it should come an alum motor mount and a clear body. just my thoughts.
Love both, thanks for showing. Recently got my evo rere, and built something like your evo 2 with the blue bits, dark impact wheels, and big bores. Must say i was inspired by your build. Any chance for a rere shootout? (Tfe, egress, avante)?
I don't like when they pre-paint the bodies. I think half the fun is making it your own and you can select your own colour. Cutting I could do without having to do.
Tamiya should really hire you as a consultant, they would be much better off for it. Sort out the little niggles before they finalise the kits. BTW, Top Force Evo must be one of the sexiest kits in box art. They need to do an Astute Evo, as the Super Astute just misses the mark looks wise
Both great, I know It's so hard to know where to stop the bling to achieve the perfect look. But the original tfe is so clean, the typography on the stickers is so nice, I actually love the air intake and I don't fancy the trf shocks look as much as the more puristic aesthetic hicaps. So, sorry, but my vote for the original one...... E. G. Also in touring cars, I like the old 53280 dampers (those where you have the pink special edition for your ta02sw gt2 build) so much more than all the modern stubby chunky trf bigbore Supershort grooved threaded cluttered things... Just bought a set of gold ones for my 911 gt2 project (alloy housings only) , will put them together from single parts.. Lots of spare part number crunching... But I prefer this to buying a complete modern set from a point of anesthetics... dream of finding pink or blue/silver ones...
I like the painted bodies cuz I'm not good at putting details on and paint them I always have someone else do it that's the only part of the hobby I don't like doing.
That's by far the goofiest messaging on a Tamiya Buggy wing ever! "Impressive Numbers" What?! Cringey and Tamiya livery is pretty damn cringey... But then again that's part of the Tamiya charm...
I'll have either, thanks!
Haha thanks buddy 😍👊🏻
the paintjob on the right is so fing nice..paint guy killed it..looks aggressive/fast standing still
Fantastic thanks buddy 😍👊🏻

Haha fantastic my friend 😍👊🏻
Bad boy!
you ever gonna get the 4 screws to finish the front end of your evo 2??????? :D
Lol 😂
I know I’m a bugger for not finishing stuff 🤯. I actually am in the process of putting this right though 😇😇😇
Will you be getting the evo now for your collection
If I ever manage to have some spare Tamiya tokens Steve, then yes 100% I’d get one for myself 🤩👊🏻
😁👍Super Beauties!
Fantastic thanks Steve 😍👊🏻
Love both, thanks for showing.
Recently got my evo rere, and built something like your evo 2 with the blue bits, dark impact wheels, and big bores. Must say i was inspired by your build.
Any chance for a rere shootout? (Tfe, egress, avante)?
Fantastic Jasper it’s awesome putting these things together especially with the added bling my friend 😍👊🏻
Looking good! The EVO has me wanting one, but the Super Avante looks good!
Excellent thanks for watching and commenting my friend 🤩👊🏻
Top Force Evo or Egress ?
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for watching 🤩👊🏻
I don't like when they pre-paint the bodies. I think half the fun is making it your own and you can select your own colour. Cutting I could do without having to do.
still got the red uprights tho.......... :/
Haha yeah don’t think they ever considered that change 🤣👊🏻
@@TAMIYALegends lol pretty sure they are hot shot and hot shot2 parts :D
Is that a Mancunian accent?
I would have your one if I could only have one of them 👍👍
Excellent thanks David 🤩👊🏻
I know it's on my fighter buggy RX but I put it together the screws it seemed harder to turn the screws to get them through the plastic.
I forgot did you get the re-release of it? And I bet you can't wait to get the td-4 super avante.
Sorry glen I just can’t choose
👍😃
That’s not a problem Ian, there both gorgeous my friend 😍👊🏻
Tamiya should really hire you as a consultant, they would be much better off for it. Sort out the little niggles before they finalise the kits. BTW, Top Force Evo must be one of the sexiest kits in box art. They need to do an Astute Evo, as the Super Astute just misses the mark looks wise
Haha thank you for the lovely comment my friend 😍
I don’t think Tamiya would have a clue about me or my channel 🤣👊🏻
I have the top force evo already so I will have your custom evo 2 please.
Haha fantastic Michael 🤣👊🏻
With Australia just receiving only a hand full of evos kits 🤬
I’d be happy with anything 😜😜😜
Yeah Simon, I do hope that gets out right soon my friend 😳🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Thanks Simon I enjoyed reading that my friend 😍
Doing things from individual parts is hard work, but it’s soooooooo rewarding at the end 😍👊🏻
The painted bodies wouldn't be so bad if they would leave the windows clear.
Yeah I’m not a fan of them myself tbh 😤👊🏻
I like the painted bodies cuz I'm not good at putting details on and paint them I always have someone else do it that's the only part of the hobby I don't like doing.
And I think that this kit was cheaper than a vqs.
You talk about this being beefy look at the new td4 those are very beefy arms and everything on that car.
2021 model.
That's by far the goofiest messaging on a Tamiya Buggy wing ever! "Impressive Numbers" What?! Cringey and Tamiya livery is pretty damn cringey... But then again that's part of the Tamiya charm...
What about "Hairy Ogre" on the Egress?
