What Bart said it’s so important. I learned that from my parents. Your marriage comes first, your child is going to benefit from seeing a healthy and loving marriage growing up and your relationship is going to continue to grow as husband and wife. When your kids grow up and have their own family they are going to leave the house. If you didn’t nurture your relationship throughout those years then the marriage could fail.

As a parent of 3 kids, I’d say it’s important for each parent to have their own time away from spouse and kid, but also together with spouse (whether romantic or not)…the point is to protect your time separate from your children. It’s important for you to not completely lose yourself and your marriage once you’re a parent.
