You have to understand the pattern in people in which you give these chances to. Gucci is responsible for putting ON a lot of artist but they don’t stay with him. And some of those dudes he know what they do and how deep in the streets they are. Although he is giving them a chance to change their life but we have to act like the money is life changing money…and some of those dudes have people they have to answer to as well. Look at Cyhi situation. He broke down how after he got them deals/money he had to break the bread down with his street homies. He didn’t have a choice but to break it down with them, he wasn’t in charge. I think for a lot of these artist that come from a street background they have somebody to answer to in those streets. Not blaming Gucci for their choices but him being a street dude himself he has to understand that some of those guys have bad situations on the outside that can hinder their music career.

Gucci gets all of this applause for the music but somehow slips the responsibility and accountability that comes with being the LEADER.
It's not about these artists still being in the streets because if Gucci or anyone truly cared about these artists, they'd protect them from the time the ink dries.
We can't say "they're out of control" when we have YET to put in the effort to stop it.
These are teens and twenty somethings.
He is draining them until they crash when they are helping them to crash.
Who with common sense would give these young artists CASH when they're nowhere near any financial institution and no financial adviser present?!
Who would do that? Who would risk their artist's life when they could easily rent a spot for them to focus on the music?!
Gucci has signed some TALENTED people. Many of these "guns and money" rappers have potential when they talk about something of substance.
But what's a hit song if we aren't going to see this artists alive again by year's end.
The game has always had an element of heartlessness, but considering NO artist has to sign to a label, apprecaiting the ones who do sign with you on the most basic human levels should be a given.
Gucci showed who he was by bragging about a self defense situation like he's John Gotti. To brag about being a position to have to kill another human being speaks volumes so I'm not shocked. And he's still going to reap what he's sowing because this isn't about artists doing too much. This is about someone cashing in and walking out. No respect.

I think joe is on to something with his theory here. I would take it a step further by saying that these artist are signed not just because of there talent but also because of there short life expectancy. If an artist dies … they normally get a bump in their music streams right after. Who profits from that? The label. These labels now are targeting young talented individuals who they know most of the times won’t live to see their 30th birthday due to their lifestyle.

Great point- Also, doesn't these labels take out life insurance on those artists? More profit to the Label.

Ish clearly has no clue WTF he's talking about on any given topic, since he's clueless about what he's saying lately. Gucci currently has THREE artists in PRISON, TWO DEAD recently & he has at least THREE stories of taking CHAINS back, which makes him seem possibly broke + he promised to pay for Scarr's funeral, but instead made an excuse about his wife's birthday party celebration, then gave the family $10K & some flowers?? Why say you're going to do something PUBLICLY, when you know you're not going to do it?? Make this make sense!

    • @TheHovalova

His wife posted $20K in receipts and plus they sent flowers 💐 isn't it possible that he want the chains back because he doesn't want folks pretending to be with 1017?

Andre salazar u sound like a valley girl expecting her daddy to pay for everything. How about not od'ing on drugs first of all. Second its not on your boss to pay for a funeral. If u died today would your boss pay for yours? Fuck no. As far as the chains go if he bought them then they are his. He can do what the fuck he want with them and that includes taking them back. And who needs more than 20k for a funeral especially when he was cremated? I hope u not a young nigga saying this because this is why your generation gets a bad rep. Comments like that

Real talk I have always been thinking about this for a while now that it's like Gucci is not a grooming and a&r these his signed artists proffesionally like his supposed to be .at a point I felt Gucci as bad luck in terms of being a record company owner executive. Infact let me be real and say my mind , Gucci as bad luck with being chief executive officer to young gangstar rappers he needs an a&r partner like president to talk with his act like therapy and advise wise on how they should be moving and conducting themselves after getting signed etc

Joe's the only one trying to get down to the real point, and these dudes can't pick up on context clues worth a shit. Exactly his label is on top right now. HOW and WHY is the question. At the end of the day, it's energy that keeps all things seen and unseen in motion on this planet.... Energy is either expended or harvested. No matter how hard they try that truth is just persisting. It's up, almost like God has something to say and people just keep turning the music up tryna drown him out... But even that subtle reference will go over most y'all's heads. He will be heard, though. It's time to wake up

I think all Joe is getting at is before in rap your AnRs would get you media training and they would try to better instruct you. If you know better you have a better chance of doing better. He's not blaming Gucci for their actions he's questioning the process that Gucci uses to vet these guys. Till this day I can't understand why Pooh Shiesty with as much $ he had was trying to rob dudes for sneakers and weed. The only thing that comes close to this level of crashing out that I can recall is early Cash money (UNLV etc.) And No Limit ( C, Mac, those twins etc) nothing wrong with asking the question as to why 1017 has so many of these issues IMO.
