    That nickel at the edge was a near disaster!!

      Thanks! I got a couple wobbles during forging that put it a little close to the edge, but as the core runs up the entire width I'm not worried about it.

    Nice work beautiful knife. One little word of caution when belt sanding and grinding maybe roll up your sleeves or button the cuffs all it take is a split second and you now have a broken wrist or worse. I know it will hurt like hell . Always remember SHOP SAFETY

    Man that thing is gorgeous. Question, is the nickel pure nickel? I love how it put that distinct line between the other 2 steels. I'm assuming the outside blocks were Damascus....I couldn't see what you wrote on it.

      That is Watco brand Danish oil, clear/ natural color. Heavy application to allow the wood to absorb, wipe off excess after an hour or so.

    you a great work shop , however the Damascus you just made is not folded on itself at all all you have done is hot welded some steel together .... i though the quality and beauty of Damascus steel was in the number of folds on the blade to make the steel tougher and sharper ......

    • @FireCreekForge
      @FireCreekForge  4 года назад

      The edge is mono steel on this knife anyway, however the term Damascus isn't referring to historical damascus steel, but pattern welded steel as it has been in the knife industry for quite some time now.. Thanks for watching!
