Nobuhito Ouchi is a young Japanese pianist, born in 1991. Ouchi specializes in the music of the Renaissance Baroque era. He is passionate about taking music written for the harpsichord, clavichord, organ, and presenting it on the modern piano, being aware of the performance practice, philosophy and numerology of the time. In this album, Ouchi brings new life to the works of Buxtehude, Pachelbel, etc. on a New York Steinway, and one can experience the thrilling music world of the Baroque masters.

In my opinion, this piece is idiomatically written for the harpsichord. Its nuances come alive on the harpsichord.

Although I prefer the harpsichord I really like this light and sparkling way of playing! It helps me better understand this highly complex piece of music. I especially like the surprises at 4:15! Keep up the brilliant playing!

It’s fun to learn an obscure piece of keyboard repertoire like this. To think there are only a handful of people in the world who can play it better than you is a bit more rewarding than tackling the standards where, musically speaking, everything has already been said.

When you hear Royer on harpsichord one realizes this idea of staccatto attacks is not sufficient to characterize the keyboard music of the Baroque period . The harpsichord resounds and in Rameau and all the nature loving composers of this era maybe we should let the piano just sing and be itself or perhaps other ways. Busoni in his baroque treatments never used short touches to typify organ or harpsichord music . Royers ' intensity is astonishing . Vertigo so much from this master hypnotizes one !

Well played, this piano arrangement feels like another piece entirely. I'm partial to the harpsichord, but both are beautiful in their own way

For my taste, it´s too rushed and unclear.

The tempo is right, but as it’s written for the clavicembalo (harpsichord) it can’t sound as crisp and clear on the grand piano

@@ShenYMusic no the tempo is just too fast, even Rondeau doesn't play it this fast and he's the fastest I've heard on harpsichord.

I like this version too! But I prefer the piece to be played on harpsichord as intended. It is much more powerful then. Listen to this performance, its amazing! ruclips.net/video/YwR3I7gZXdE/видео.html

I agree. This version is sloppy and all over the place. I have the original memorized musically and this is jerky and a mess. Only my opinion and I’m not a professional musician so ignore me. Just saying. I think if he would slow down that it would make such a difference.
