I loveeeee making these huge snakes, I have like maybe 7 or so of them I've made. they can be made with a single skein of bernet blanket yarn so it's a great way to chew up a chunky yarn in my stash! Granted this one wasn't from my stash, I found it when I was shopping with my sister before Christmas and grabbed it haha
Notes of how I edited the pattern in my snake: in the pattern it has a set row number for the body, and it's all single crochet. I do not do this, I swap to Half Double Crochet (us terms) to do the main body. I love the texture the half doubles give the body, giving a more scaled look (also makes the project work up faster)
I also do not count the body rounds! I go until I think it's time to start tapering it, I swap back to single crochets and begin to taper it similar to the pattern, but I add or remove rows depending on yarn I have left, it's about feel for me to make sure I use up the whole body for maximum long boi!
(also if you are curious; why is my head cut out? that's intentional lol, I'm not a fan of filming my face)

Hello down here c:
How long did this take you to make? the colors look sooo pretty
I want to say it was like 4-6 hours total? I speed these vids up by like 8x or so
I know right? Its such a pretty colorway it turns out so adorable as a snake!
The colors stripe perfectly:) is there a pattern?
If you look in my description theres a link to the free pattern i used! I also made notes of how i altered the pattern to get the look i did!
@@BittyBattyBunny thank you so much :)
Aw cute
Thank you!
You recorded so fast(even after slowing it down)....No mention in pattern for what roe you put in eyes
Its not meant to be an instructional is why its so fast! Its more meant to just be an entertainment thing. The pattern is not my own if you look at other comments as well as in the description I link to the actual pattern as well as mention the alterations I made. As for the eye row it actually varies snake to snake and I just place them where I think it looks best so I couldn't tell you the exact row I place them! Hope it helps.
Yes thank you for info, how long is the snake?
@@carollloyd8099 its about maybe five and half feet depending on hook size and the yarn. I’d have to pull the one from this video out to measure exactly but I know typically the snakes are close in length to my height when i make them using bernat blanket yarn and an n or m hook. I have made it using worseted yarn as well and that was maybe 3 feet
Really though you can make it longer or shorter by just adding more body rounds or less body rounds. I typically just go until i nearly use my yarn then finish it off to make them one skein orojects.
That is a good length, making mine as a collection to my animal zoo..
@@carollloyd8099 its a nice fun length! I have about 8 of these I've made? And if you stuff them right they can be good cuddle buddies for kids and such! Good luck on your snake!
