I've so been missing all the floss-tubes --only to how busy life seems to be lately. I am happy to sit and listen. Your box is lovely, and it will be a wonderful gift. Thanks for all the information and show and tell. Hope your Christmas was Merry and that the New Year will be stitch contented.
Your memory box is stunning and like both of your wool mats and the snowman I agree are so cute they are right for the season hope you have a great Christmas with your family and a wonderful 2023
Beautiful box, love your studio and your projects! I received my pattern for the Stitch a Day SAL and joined the Facebook group. Just deciding what count fabric I want to use. Thank you for sharing this daily stitching idea-really looking forward it. Happy New Year!
New subscriber here. Glad I found you! I do wool applique also, but mostly punch needle. I am getting back into cross stitch after over 40 years, so there's a bit of that on my channel, and hope to have the time to do more. On the snowman banner, I think I would probably add something too. Either a present or maybe another bird? My mom's name is Agnes. :)
Hi Christine, I really enjoy your FlossTube, love the intro and music. You find the best stuff, Abigail Burnam is adorable. Love your wool applique pieces and the memory box is gorgeous, what a special treasure. Look forward to seeing more of what your hubby creates. Merry Christmas to you and your family, Kristy.
Merry Christmas to you!! So glad Agnes is doing better. I Love your box finish and your ebay finds! I'm always suggesting woodworking projects to my guy and have a couple things he has made but want MORE! LOL. Delightful to stitch with you today!
I just love being able to come into your studio and visit with you!! It does male me miss my studio when we had our farm. *sigh* Bloom when your planted but I am still finding my way adjusting to no space of my own. I hope you will share some video of Agnes in the new year. She just touched my heart. The memory box for your daughter is beautiful! I love that idea. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and am looking forward to stitching while watching you in 2023!! 🎄
Hi Heidi. Change is hard. It has taken me a long time to get settled after this last m move so I understand. I was in quite a state while the studio was being redone. Happy holidays!
@@mountaincraftsstudio Yes so true Christine. I moved because of health problems from my dream farm to an apartment. Quite a change indeed. Your studio is wonderful!
@@heidikuijer3612 Oh, I feel for you. I had to leave my dream farm and all my fiber animals for the same reason. I could hardly look at a sheep for a long time. I still miss them.
@@mountaincraftsstudio oh yes...I understand that feeling. I used to care for lambs that couldn't drink for a farmer. He said my lambs were the strongest when they were returned to the flock. I miss everything about them especially the smell.
I love the crow wool project. Pretty sure I have that pattern! I have only made a couple wool projects so far. I bought several wool coats at thrift shops and have cut them up, felted and even dyed some. I find it very relaxing to work with wool.
I live on Cape Cod and we have a town named Brewster. There’s also a little village in Plymouth MA where you can see how the pilgrims lived and it’s called Plimoth Plantation.
Oh wow, I didn’t realize there was a town named that. I have visiting Plymouth Plantation on my bucket list. My kids and I are hoping to go together sometime this coming year. I think there are a lot of things we would like to see in the area because we have so much family from the area.
@@mountaincraftsstudio if you look up Brewster MA it will tell you the history. It’s 44 miles between Brewster and Plymouth. Brewster is on Cape Cod, Plymouth is not, however; they are both on the Cape Cod Bay. Plymouth has a wax museum so you just might see a relative if you go.
@@mountaincraftsstudio I just looked it up and unfortunately it says they removed the wax figures and only have pictures. Every thanksgiving there’s protest there so they probably made them remove the figures; just like they do now with statues of Civil War figures and American forefathers. That would have be nice for you to see.
@@jojorey6886 Not surprising. It’s sad that they are protesting every year. I’ve studied the history closely and they really should be protesting what happened a generation later.
What a lovely memory box you and your husband made for your daughter. What she places inside will be even more special knowing the effort you made to create it for her. Have a Merry Christmas, and a happy and healthy New Year!
The box you showed at the beginning is sooo beautiful. From the porch wood to the stitching to the corners and feet - it all comes together in such a lovely way. May I ask where one finds corners and feet like that? I wouldn’t know where to look. Glad Agnes is doing well. She’s certainly come a ways since you first brought her inside. Merry Christmas to you and yours! I wish you many blessings in the New Year.
Thank you! Believe it or not I found those on Amazon. I normally would buy hardware from my husband’s woodworking catalogs, but they didn’t have what I was looking for. So I searched for jewelry box hardware and there were hundreds of options!
I love the things that you make they are very beautiful. The memory box is such a beautiful idea for your daughter. We adopted a kitten during 2020 that was left on our property. Her eyes were really bad and left eye is better while the right is still runny. The vet gave me a supplement to sprinkle on her food and said it might help or her eye may stay that way. I recently found a chew that she likes with the same supplement. It helps with upper respiratory and eyes in cats and kittens. Vetriscience Vetri Lysine Plus DMG Immune Support treats for cats and kittens. I thought maybe you might want to give it a try. I found them and the food sprinkly supplement on Amazon. Merry Christmas. Btw, I also didn't put up a tree when she was 6 months and my 3 yr. old grandson was living with us for a while. Better safe than sorry.
Yes, I do want to try those. Thank you! I just want her to feel the best she can. It’s hard to watch her breathing with her mouth open after she plays hard. She’s currently snoring in my lap.
Hi Lillian. I don’t have a video that shows how I finish my backs. I generally use a homespun type fabric. I then make a bias binding and sew it on just like I would if it was a quilt. I’ve not added tabs yet, but I think I may with the snowmen. I’ll make them with wool.
Do you carry wool floss? Or do you use only cotton floss on your cross stitch. Antique stitcher mentioned using wool floss on cross stitch was really nice, and this is something I would like to try.
I have a collection of wool floss that I purchased from a dyer. Unfortunately, they recently retired from dying. DMC makes a wool thread. You might be able to find it online. I think 123 Stitch has a wood floss as well.
Christine…(did I spell that correctly? It’s my daughters name…). Anyway, would you mind sharing with me the colors of thread that you are switching the MorningGlory A Stitch a Day chart? Your colors are exactly my home colors as well.
