I like the simplistic ruggedness of the smaller streamlights. I prefer the Stylus Pro for a non rechargeable and the Macrostream for a rechargeable. The bigger size fits my hand a little better than the Microstream. That matte black finish on them is great though. Rugged and great for grip.
I recently purchase this flashlight. It’s so compact I can put it in my trucker/long wallet. I my current job sometimes have be outside & before hand I used my phone light. Now with this I don’t have to use my phone & save battery on that. I do find the button stiff too.
Currently deciding between a Streamlight Protac 1AAA and Surefire Titan Plus. If you had to ballpark guess on a scale of 1-to-10 where would you put these two in terms of reliability and durability, including from a SHTF supply standpoint, where would you? Also, any other AAA battery EDC options you think are worth considering? Thanks!
I think reliability is similar with a slight lead to streamlight (subjective). I dislike the twist on/off of the surefire (and the price). I think usb rechargeable is the best bet in terms of supply since there are various ways to recharge usb (120v Outlet, Solar to usb Charger, Power Bank, 12v lighter in a car, etc. Streamlight also makes a aaa version of this light. Here’s a link. I had one and it’s good, just not as bright as the micro stream. If I was dead set on a AAA battery flashlight, this is the one I would buy. a.co/d/is9zr4A
Might be too late, but I own all three. I love the protac but use the microsteams most because the protac is double thickness, heavier and longer (not comfy as headlamp). Protac does take either AA or cr123, huge plus. Microstream AAA is only 45 lumens. Great light but not even close to the microstream USB at 250 lumen. Choices choices lol
I’ve had mine for 2 years, and have carried and used it daily on my job with zero issues.
Love it! Always glad to hear that other people are having good experiences with the same stuff. I’m having good experiences with.
I’ve carried one of these for years now and always keep a spare one in my bag. Great flashlight!!
Indeed!

Indeed! They nailed the finish
One of the best pocket flashlights ever ...i use that one every day, The battery version is better though because usb ones fail
Agreed!

Yeah, the button was a bit stiff for me, but I wouldnt remove it. I did this and dust/water ended up ruining it....
So you can’t replace the battery with the USB version?
You can, but it is a slightly longer version of the AAA battery. I don’t know exactly what it’s called.
Very nice EDC Light
Run it with standard 10440 ?
I have just used the battery that came with it….might be the same as 10440 but I’m not 100% sure

@@35andRetired What do you prefer about the MicroStream AAA over the Protac 1aaa?
Also thank you for the input!
@@mrjamesinblogington I just like that it’s shorter and fits more easily into my pocket and such. That’s about it.
@@mrjamesinblogington oh, and because it’s shorter and lighter and has a reverse clip, you can clip it at the front of a hat, which I do occasionally
