Your locs are gorgeous. I am thinking of starting microlocs with two stranded twists too. How many months did it take for you to start losing your twist pattern?
Thank you! It happened so gradually that I honestly I’m not sure exactly when, but I did document my whole loc process if you checkout my Loc Journey playlist on my channel! 🙂
Wow! I feel like we have very similar hair stories. I've also been natural my whole life and rocked twists to maintain my hair. I started locs about 9 months ago. I would definitely say for me, locking just made sense. I was fighting what my hair did to try and keep it loose. I totally relate to you on that. I have around the same number of locs as you. (I don't know the exact number but I know I have 200+ but under 300.) I really appreciate that you stated how many weeks post retie you were in this video. That's pretty similar to how my hair looks in the same time period. Seeing your hair (and hearing that you retie at 4 weeks because your parts are gone at 5 weeks) is encouraging to me. I'm glad I'm not the only person whose hair is like that. Especially since a lot of the people I see on youtube seem to reties that last for eons. Quick question: How many hours does it take you to retie all of your locs? I'm definitely working to get faster at mine.
Thanks so much for watching and sharing your story as well! 🙂 Yeah, at 5 weeks the new growth is a lot to manage for sure. For how long it takes to interlock my whole head of hair, it’s kind of hard for me to pin down an exact time. I’ve gotten more skilled at it, but my hair has also gotten longer and I’m not sure exactly how much that affects the time. However, it usually takes about between 9 and 12 hours and I typically split that into two days. What about you?
@@aVAness The last time I interlocked my hair it took 17 hours. I did it over the course of 5 days. I'm working to get it shorter so that I can do it in two days. I'd really like my interlocking sessions to not be the equivalent of a part-time job.😑 At the very least I'd like to be able to finish it on the weekend without the sessions being grueling.
@@aVAness I think it helps in deducing problems in our locs (holes, unravelling, thinning), plus we're intrigued with the process since we can't see that often, we need to feel. I wonder what mine will be like in an year, I mostly see no difference :-( my twists aren't fading either
Nice. I like your music btw 😊

Can’t believe it’s been a year for you already. I like how although you combined that twist pattern still disappeared. Your locs are beautiful.

@@StarlessTerrace Ooh yeah that’s a lot. The time or two it took me 12 hours, I was annoyed lol.
Absolutely beautiful!! Congratulations on your 1 year Loc-A-Versary!
Thank you so much!! I appreciate it! 🎊☺️
@@aVAness you are most welcome
Congratulations 😭🔥👏🏾🎉
Thank you so much for watching! ☺️✨
Happy one year locs anniversary. I am 8 months now. Never had any regrets regarding my decision
Thanks so much! And yes! Locs are so great 🙂
So beautiful…love your progress...I just started my journey… I’m a month and a half in
Thank you! And that’s so wonderful! 🙂
Congratulations on your one year, I also wanted to ask does the witch hazel add moisture to your locs or it something you use for your scalp 🤗❤️
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!! ☺️✨🎊
The witch hazel adds moisture but it’s mostly for my scalp. 😊
@@aVAness thank you for your reply
@@rocknthefro No problem! ☺️🤎
Your locks are beautiful!
Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching and commenting. ☺️
Haha, hand in hair + frizz =frizz wrapping OCD honestly....I'm just glad my frizz has reduced, my hand however finds itself stroking the locs
Omg yes! When did your frizz reduce enough for this to stop? I need hope 😩

@@nellymckenna6552 That’s a good point. Some hand in hair “syndrome” is good for finding issues. When did you get your locs started?
@@aVAness September, last year
@@nellymckenna6552 That’s awesome!
My least favourite thing is the long self retightening sessions 😑. Your hair is lovely 😍😊
Exactly! Takes too long! 😩😂 And thank you! ☺️
Beautiful!
Thanks so much! ☺️
pretty cool
