Sounds like one of those click-bait ads. "Doctors are stunned by this regular old Joe's treatment that saves thousands of dollars. He can't keep getting away with it!"
We can't win the super bowl in March. This has to translate to the fall.

Different culture here in Philly, winning is number one here unlike down in Dallas, where making money is the priority, along with having a weak culture that does not prioritize winning, which is why Dallas has been playoff chokers for years.

Just because Lurie pays for upfront bonuses does not mean they were his idea. So unless you have inside information, this is a bad take.

It's that owners are carrying degrees of wealthy or willing to participate with so much cash upfront. It's risky. If a player gets hurt week 1 but if they don't it pays off allowing you to add more talent. @@Cosmo-Kramer

The most important part about Kelce was he never missed games with injuries. Cam hasn't played a full season yet

Yeah, very few people are recognizing they expected Kelce to retire last year and already had the replacement in place.
The first time we took kelces retirement seriously, we drafted a center out of Alabama by the name of Landon Dickerson. Now one of the best LG's in the league. Then we drafted jurgens who has starting experience at rg. He's going to hit the ground running. I suspect the eagles take a rg in the second or 3rd round. Depending on who's available

Rich had the disclaimer about how he's not a cap guy, but the Eagles' strategy is to keep cap hits low for their current players, at the cost of high dead cap for their former players, e.g. Kelce @ $25MM in '24 and Cox @ $14.3MM in '24 (assuming both are pre-6/1 "cuts")
i heard they are post 6/1 so we will have a buch of cap after that point for the deadline just like Howie likes it.

The eagles not only use void years at the back end of contracts to kick the can down the road but they also have MR. Lurie who pays cash up front were not a-lot of owners in the nfl do that. Its good to have an owner who cares enough to do that.

I honestly think the reason Philly fell apart is just attrition - coming off an SB loss, with two new coordinators, they were exceeding expectations with their 10-1 start, because they always felt urgency every single game. And you can only play that way for so long before it takes a toll. Seasoned winners know when to put the foot on the gas, and they're just learning that (it took Reid more than a decade to get right!)
I dont think sirianni was the issue it was the coordinators ik he chose them but he also chose shane and gannon i think hell be fine

As a Philly fan I never felt good about the Eagles last year. I was upset with the Coaching decisions that Howie made from day one. Nick never showed that he could handle adversity even more so with the Co-ordinators we got hastily. I was right & so was Seth Joyner
Eagles have 3 of the top 54 picks in the draft this year too and I’d bet we go all defense, the offense is set
I would be pissed if they don’t go defense with at least 2 of those first 3 picks
He back loads the contracts with void years. It does create dead money but he spaces those out with contract length. He takes advantage of the salary cap going up every year , which will likely continue as sports betting grows (12 states including CA and texas have legalized yet) and also competition with streamkng services grows.
A dollar spent next year is a smaller percentage of the cap than it would be this year so kicking the can is beneficial though it holds other risks.
And kicking the can down the road is meaningless. This isnt your credit card bill, they aren't paying interest on it. They can keep kicking that can in perpetuity unless the nfl either changes the rules or they go out of business. Your big dead cap hits wont matter if your recent signings have well below avg cap hits cause those void years are further down the road.
I'm an Eagles fan but this drives me crazy. You don't "win" the offseason. Remember the "Dream Team"??

Ahh..Mr Rich please tell me that Penny will be traded or released from Eagle Purgatory. I never seen a back take the abuse of eagle coaching. They were terrible running the ball consistently when they needed it at the halfway mark. I hope sequon does well but time will tell.
