- We've got a new premium cruiser in the game, so given the price tag, it's time to take a closer look into what kind of ship this is.
I really like cruisers, so it's no surprise that I like this one, too - but how does she match up against the tech tree top dog?

The DM is amazing, one of my favourite T10s. I do like the Buffalo, but I'm also looking forward to the Worcester as an HE-spammer, that'd be an interesting comparison.

Mango Militia well depending on the nation the higher up you go your role(s) become clearer IMO. American cruisers are HE spammers and AA support, Japanese are your long range HE spammers with the occasional torpedo strike, British are almost purely DD hunters, Germans are high AP alpha and tanky so their best against other cruisers especially at the mid ranges, Russians are long ranged AP strikers with very accurate and punchy guns, and French are long ranged HE alpha strikers with very fast ships made to supply support around the battlefield at a moment’s notice.
it's actually that flexibility that I really like about cruisers. Going out in a BB, I know I'm pretty screwed if enemy DDs can break through. In a DD, I know that if I'm found & focused by a CV, I'm dead. In e.g. a Des Moines, I know that I can take on any ship class on the enemy team - CV will lose massive amounts of planes if they try, I can burn down BBs, I can hunt DDs, and I can shred other CAs with AP.
I'm not saying CAs are better than the other classes, but for me, they're very good at compensating for mistakes the team makes.
Oh, and as for "British are almost purely DD hunters", my Mino would probably disagree :D

De Moines is one of my favorite ships but I still bought the Buffalo. I used Kincaid with IFHE and an AA build. I played 10 games and racked a lot of damage. This is still a fun ship to play.
I've got Kinkaid on Seattle for now, not sure about the impact IFHE has on anything below battleship calibre, but I'll probably take it just because it'd feel wrong to ship a legendary skill 😂

I mean it's not that you don't get something for the money if you don't get the ship, you still get resources. But yes, I'd generally recommend setting an upper limit for the number of crates to open if someone wanted to gamble. Same that you don't bring your credit card to the casino :)
When on break at work, I'll read up on the different ships found in the game. The only thing I could find on any ship named Buffalo during WW2 was one turned into a carrier and this one that says it's a Fargo class light cruiser.

Great video my man! Thanks for the detailed comparison and understanding how it makes a difference in how to play. The reload time difference really hampers a bow in setup, but she also isn’t as agile for maneuvering as a kiter. Well played in that game. Would you say that was a typical game for you? I consider myself just a notch above average so it helps to know if my skills can gel with a ships potential.
Yeah, that was a pretty typical game. I've played maybe 10 games, since I didn't have a huge amount of time this weekend (I usually aim for more around 15). The first couple of games I struggled a bit, since I had the propulsion mod in slot 2, and was playing her more like a DM, bow-in, that didn't work. With the double-steering and adjusted mindset I got better results.
She can kite, the range isn't as bad as DM, and she's manoeuvrable enough to dodge. I've been most successful so far when getting into cover behind islands, rather than next to them, she plays more like a light cruiser for me in that regard. Anti-DD she's pretty devastating, I don't have solid numbers yet, but her AP feels less punchy than DM's, and I get very reliable full pens at mid-range. If you can land even just 10 shells on a broadsiding DD at 7km, you'll do about 8k per salvo with AP. Just be careful in close-range fights due to the turn time / acceleration - no hydro, so if you want to brawl a DD, you need your torp sense on - dodges are definitely easier in a DM.
AA isn't DM level, but still pretty good. I really feel she should have gotten the radar consumable as well, it's pretty rare for a premium to have fewer skills than the tech tree version.
All in all, I'd say she's a solid ship, given you play her right, she can be a devastating HE spammer.
Fun and games with Terry you have a great way of breaking down data into usable information and showing how it’s translates to effective play style I’ve learned a lot from watching you and being more introspective about my play style. I was full on dd when I started, spent a bunch of time working on cruisers up to Yorck, Algierie, New Orleans, Budyonny, Edinburough (can’t wait for Neptune and those torps back) but now I find myself in love with my Roma (bought with copper)
Fun and games with Terry oops, hit the button early. Also, fell in love with Italian ships. Daosta, is murderous on dds and it make for fun games until you run into a bb. Then you really gotta aim. Anyway, keep up the fabulous work!! I recommended you to my fleet to watch your videos.

Neptune is such an epiphany after Edinburgh. It's not just the torps, but suddenly you have guns that can deal with BBs.

Will you make a video on your independence, I suggest you to practice how to use fighters as at higher tiers(8- 10)they really hurt, I am at Essex right now and in my Lexington I got 50 clear skies
The 4th 8 inch turret will still have t unmask to come into play. Given the limits on range for 8 inch, it is really dangerous in tier X games. Think I will finish grinding Baltimore.and get Des Moines
You need to show more side to get all turrets on target. Almost 12km isn't bad, and when you're kiting away, quite doable. I generally found myself being too aggressive in this ship, which didn't end well :)

Hi terry, i got the buffalo on my first try from the crate which is on right side or 600gold crate which you showed at the start....im like going crazy that how could I get on first try with just 0.48% chance for getting that premium ship....nice video keep up the good work...

Yes, pretty sure, PC has the Salem as the tier 10 premium. I see why they did it, though, she'd be quite OP in tier 9, they'd have to balance her down against the Baltimore.
That's correct, I'm grinding the T9 Buffalo now on the PC, working my way to the T10 Des Moines.
Hi Terry, for the latest promotion, should I spend 16000 gold for Roma + camo or 26000 gold for buffalo +camo? I can’t decide!
That very much depends on what you like. Buffalo is an interesting ship, it's a Des Moines with an extra turret, but you've got to be careful not to give broadside at T10, tempting with the layout. Positioning is quite important.
Roma is still a pretty powerful BB at T8, if you want to have the free version, you can get Veneto (same class), with SAP more effective against DDs, but without the PA/RR combo. Still a good battleship.

What is the best destroyer nation line ?
That very much depends on how you like to play them.
* IJN mainline DDs have very good stealth, and very hard-hitting torpedoes, but are often somewhat on the slow side, and the guns aren't the best
* IJN gunboat DDs have better guns and fewer torpedoes
* USN DDs have decent guns, smoke screens, but lack torpedo range until the higher tiers
* Pan-Asian DDs have deep-water torpedoes, which do not hit other DDs, and are a bit of a mixed bag, due to their multi-nation origins. There are some seriously powerful ships in that line.
* German DDs are sturdy, with relatively poor concealment, good guns, decent torps and usually have sonar
* Soviet DDs are blazing fast, great guns, but no smokes and the torpedoes have a very short range and don't hit too hard
So, if you like to play stealth / concealment and never be spotted, IJN or Pan-Asian are the way to go. If you like to brawl, German or Soviet, the latter requiring quite a bit of skill to be successful in higher tiers. USN DDs and IJN gunboats are a bit in the middle of the scale imo.

You can currently only get it via the loot crates
actually you do need a premium warship. Im level 37. Especially those black ships are too OP and commonly win so yes you need a premium warship but the player needs to be very good. I have never spend a single dime in this money and have to grind my way through
Having a tech tree ship and having skill is better than having a premium ship with no skill, I'm also a f2p player, and the premium ships I got are from events, and the special missions when you start the game.
When they announced it i was like wow now ships cost 200€ 😂😂

The uniqueness is something I usually look out for. I've spent a fair amount of money on such things, but that's because it doesn't hurt me, and keeps the game free for everyone. Ships like the Richelieu, or Graf Spee.
The Buffalo is a good ship, and can do some fearsome damage, don't get me wrong, but for myself, I'll probably use the gold on the camo for my DM.

I spent fair amount on the game and also won some stuff.. but i never look at gambling crates or fake events.. thats whats causing problems in the community.. events where you need to play 5h+ a day? Or such where you are asked to spend stupid amount on gambling for what?
Such a ship should be pre order with special Title not t3 useless aurora..

Also special Title for killing xxx enemy in russian ship, you get ‚defender of the motherland‘ (for example) but rear admiral everybody will be.. boring

I love this game and i play it too much, but honestly they go the wrong way and if they dont turn around soon its too late
There are actually people out there who can spend 5h a day playing - we come from all walks of life, if I look at my channel stats, I get people from 13 to over 65. Me, I'm happy if I can play for half an hour between work and bringing the kid to bed, but in return, I can pay for stuff sometimes if I want to.
The early black ships used to be giveaways for top-of-the-league positions, but then again, that means people like me will never have a chance to get them. I think the current rewards are portraits / nicks (like "top 10").
I enjoy the game for its mechanics and challenges. I've played, for example, the universally despised Bogue for quite a bit recently, and the pride I got from pulling a 75k dmg win in that thing trumps ownership of yet another shiny pixel ship :)
It's pronounced War-Ches-ter (for the Worchester). Although for people who are native to the city of Boston, you may get something like "Wa-shes-ta" ;)
