    Sometimes you can feel bad for him. Growing up without parents and family, in addition to being a nobody with people bullying him and consequently creating problems and not helping him in the orphanage. He suffered the equivalent of Joaquin Phoenix's Joker.

    Alot of people are saying that the whole third act when Riddler floods Gotham is out of place and makes no sense but I dont think so because I have a theory on why he flooded the city
    My theory is that perhaps Riddler came to the belief that the corruption in the city is too much and he couldn't take them all out one at a time so he decided to wash away all of the corruption as it would be easier and quicker,and as for why he killed innocents well I guess his mental illness just overtook him to the point where he doesnt care

    • @mrenygma181
      @mrenygma181 2 года назад +18

      Absolutely correct, and it hurts how many viewers lacked the comprehension of this. Nashton believed Gotham *itself* failed and hurt him. He sees the whole of Gotham as a toxic, corrupted organism and each and every living being in it merely diseased cells. His flood was, in his eyes, a needed cleansing by fire (or rather, water). Much like how chemotherapy doesn't discriminate between cancer and healthy cells. He wants the entire organism to drown in the terror and hopelessness that flooded his childhood.

    You got yourself a new subscriber. I love this version of Riddler a lot and consider him to be the best out of the others we've seen, although the version of Riddler in Gotham is also good. This Riddler actually won in the end despite the flood setback. I would love for you to do a video on Joan Ferguson from the Australian hit TV series Wentworth set in a Women's prison with gripping, complex, and dark stories. Joan starts off as a Governor running the prison before finding herself as a prisoner in her own prison but that doesn't stop her from the things she carries out. Very intelligent, ruthless, manipulative, and also very sympathetic and complex due to extreme childhood trauma. She arrives in season 2 and stays to the very end.

    I don’t know what Edward was even thinking when he thought Batman was on his side. Most heroes, like Batman, wouldn’t be very accepting if someone came over to them and said: “Hey Batman, I have this group of people that kill other people of this city because they rejected me! Wouldn’t you like to join us?!”

    This riddler was excellent. He kept up with proving his intellect over batman by taunting him with riddles and arguably knew about the extent of the corruption around the renewal fund. What he lacked was the narcissism and bloated egotism, which was replaced with a sense of "misguided" righteousness and anyone who didn't believe him was beneathe him. Being an orphan and growing up in the ophanage gave him the inferiority complex and resentment along with knowledge of the corruption drove him to taunt those he saw as beneath him. This riddler was far more sadistic than other versions wide of the mark. Arguably the riddlers plan succeeded, forcing Bruce to "question" his old man's involvement.

    On of the benefits of working within the system, in spite of deficiencies in the system, it sets parameters. Reduces the chance of getting the wrong person. Doesn't eliminate the chance of an innocent being punished, but reduces.
    Incidentally, this is a point for Batman, Superman, Spiderman, etc as well.

    honestly, if it wasn't for our love for batman we'd be cheering the villains from joker to bane to the riddler. joker anhiliated the mob and eliminated them, bane, like the riddler represent every human that is not fed will a silver spoon. they all want to get rid of the corrupt and let the poeple rule. Joker won 100% right and won, he proved his point and more, he did what batman's job. Batman attacks petty criminals while the Joker destroyed the root of all the problems, the mob and the DA, bane was more 'socialist' but the revolution has many parallels with the french revolution, when you him knitting that's exactly taken from the 'kangoroo' trials and a woman would knit the name of each one who got beheaded. if batman was alive he would be elon musk, but more dangerous lol he doesn't see the big picture he just attacks petty criminals while the joker literally erased the mob, the chinese connection, the district attorney, and all the corrupt people running Gotham. I think if I were alive i would fight with the Joker til every 1 percenter is erased including batman
