What nobody seems to recommend is to actually learn the basics of design. As a designer I see tons of designs blatantly disregarding the most basic principles, If ppl invested time in getting some skills as well as learning the business side of it, I reckon they would see better results. Also, the importante of products photography, using basic free mockups is not enough in a competitive market.
I've made almost 20k sales on Etsy over the nearly 14 years I've had my shop. I am sitting on a GOLD MINE of POD ideas for my Etsy store (which sells only physical products now). You are correct, 3 items per day can be done! That's the inspiration I needed to hear ALONG WITH the need to re-examine my work flow. Thanks for the fire, Ryan. I've gotta get going on this in a few days. I've been putting it off for far too long.
It’s really never going to be passive, on Etsy. From what I have heard, you have to continually work on your store, even many years down the road. Which makes sense, considering it is a handmade store, not a POD store.
So positive! Thanks, Ryan! One year in and so excited to see what happens in Q4 this year! One of my best selling ugly sweatshirts last year came straight from one of your “niches of the week” videos. Super grateful for your content!
I've made 12,000 with AI on Etsy this year (digital downloads), but I tried REALLY hard to generate a very cohesive style with high-demand products. Each product I make takes a few days and I change the AI significantly. I have 156 products in my store after a year.
I have started 3 companies. My advice is to NOT spend alot of time upfront. Just get your idea/product out to people and see if it has momentum/energy behind it early. There is not enough discussion about you being in flow with what is going on with you internally. You will know quickly if something feels right for you and the market.
I happened upon your channel by accident. I'm learning so much from you. I've had a store for about 6 months now. 2 weeks ago we had our first organic sale. I know that we can do better if we can manage to put up more products. Unfortunately my job that pays the bills right now requires my complete attention for 11 hours of drive time and then I only get a 10-hour break. I am dedicated to get 500 listings up by the end of this month.
Appreciate this! I’m a month a half on my etsy shop (after being weeks of suspension cuz apparently that’s a norm for new shops). got my first 2sales digital download (1 Halloween sticker bundle and 1 tumblr bundle) Got really excited and yea I’m glad most people on YT are saying long term and just don’t give up. Consistency is key and ads xD. lets goooo!!!🔥🔥🔥👌🏼
Even at 2x speed he talks as quickly as many RUclipsrs do at regular speed 😂. Did he just upload the Midjourney file straight to CANVA with out upscaling? Even after CANVA upscaling is that good enough... Or at least good enough for T-shirts?
Could you make a video on a profit breakdown for a tshirt fullfilled by printify and sold on etsy? I recently started listing some tshirts in my etsy shop, but when i use a profit calculator tool (erank) i need to sell them at around 30 to make a decent profit (evening out all offered sizes). I decided to charge the same for all sizes as i have the impression that a lot of people are pissed of by strategies in which you see a listing price of for example 5 dollars for a tshirt, but in reality its only for a toddler and the real cost ends up around 24-27 including shipping. My question is what are reasonable profit margins for you for selling a tshirt (bella canvas 3001)? I see most offered between 12 -25 most with free shipping, but at my calculations you would not make profit. Could you elaborate on that? Thanks
Sure - check this video 🙂 ruclips.net/video/5I3KdHuZUIE/видео.html I use the Etsy profit calculator in the first minute to see what they are taking home 👍
I paid 50 for mine and had just my sons photo on the back. Which means they also had no effort to design. I also charge 34 and if I would selli would make 5 bucks? Considering my time also to design and to list. Time is money.
I have seen/heard advice saying that listing at 3-4/day can be detrimental since you can end up with hundreds of listings relatively quickly, with very few sales. The resulting ratio of listings/sales likely does not reflect will in the almighty algorithm. What do you think of that take?
This just goes to show that AI is not a substitute for business savvy. This seems like a nice dude but he doesn’t understand what sells and doesn’t sell. Just because Midjourney can crest an image that YOU think is cool, doesn’t mean other people will want to pay for it printed on a shirt / phone case. If you don’t understand what customers WANT, and how to get those WANTS in front of those customers, you’re not going to get very far with this POD thing.

Absolutely! I tend to critique designs when I do shop reviews - I also dropped a video last week on best selling t-shirt design styles 👍

you could hire some help on places like fiver
A video on your Walmart process would be very helpful.
Fascinating share Ryan. Fascinating. True about Etsy.
Thanks so much for this!!! I've been designing and have 25 designs ready to go.
My pleasure!

@@RyanHoguePassiveIncome excellwnt, thank you!
Your voice is too loud. His voice is too quiet.
My bad its tough figuring out the right levels, but I will pay more attention next time, sorry about that
Match made in heaven?
$39.00 for a cell phone case is crazy lol

I don't get it... Could you expand on why do you think that listing 3 or 4 designs per day can be detrimental?

He needs much better designs they seem pretty random, also phone cases are a tough sell
With time I'm sure they will improve 🙂
