I learned this piece when I was 12. I'm 64 now and can still it prestissimo. Great warmup piece. C.P.E.B. was definitely ahead of his times. I like to play some of the passages as block chords. Sounds a bit like jazz chords that way. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for recording this piece in three tempi! I was introduced to it by my piano teacher when I was 19. I would like to revisit it soon, at 63.
Thank you, it is very generous of you to provide a practice video of this very popular and fun piece. It’s wonderful for students to learn how to hold the hands ready and close to each other for ease of playing. Thank you!
A bit rigid. I played this when I was 11-12 years' of age at slow-medium pace. I still have the music sheets from 1981-82 (good old days-the time period, not the fact that I was forced to play the piano ….).
whoa whoa whoa I am 8 and called jimmy feng (just using my father's account) and I have finished fantaise impromptu not sure how you spell it but I'm learning this piece.
You just put your dad's and your name on the internet in a single comment without giving it a second thought. I'm in awe. I'm not trying to be rude just be careful man.
Hi Ben, this piece is about Grade 4 standard in Australia, according to the AMEB (Australian Music Examinations Board). I don't think the speed matters so much as long as it's well played...of course, faster is more impressive. :) I imagine it may be considered a slightly higher grade in Britain.
Lol this is ezzzzzz I finished this when I was six and I’m twelve and just finished Fantasia impromptu XD I am Chinese and learning viola and now practicing 10.5 hr a dayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Tempo seems to speed up gradually during the slow demo; starts around 110 then goes to 125
