This is our arrangement of the Solfeggio in C minor by Carl Philipp Emmanuel Bach, one of the first pieces I learned on the piano. This was inspired by Eugen Ciceros version while still trying to put in our own spices 🙃

This is amazing! Thank you and BRAVO!
Brilliant rendition love your articulation n buildups ❤🎶

🙏 Please can you do this more slowly just on piano? I'm a relative beginner and even with sheet music it's hard for me to grasp as I can't consistently see your hands. Please and thank you !!!!!!! (From Vancouver Canada)
Father Bach now is smiling at you from Heaven. Absolutely brilliant co-operation of His Son and You.
Father CPE Bach!
@@LoveJoyPeace378 He meant the father, ol good fellow JS, really ;) Read again !
Father, son & the holy spirit ❤
Goodness me. What a gifted player.
Verdade!!!!
Meu Deus do céu isso é muito bom
Don’t call it a gift, that is skill. His time and effort went into that, don’t diminish it by saying it wasn’t something he earned and created himself
Yes!! This was epic Luca! Loved how you incorporated blues and jazz reharms into this classical piece. The whole arrangement is so clever, with that big build up in the middle! Your touch is perfect. The energy of the band is awesome. The production of the video is stellar. You really took everything up a notch on this video. From boogie master to classical music re-inventor… Well done!!
EXACTLY as Herr Bach wanted it to be played, because he couldn’t. Totally Brilliant in every way! Attractive camera work as well.
How do you know if Bach could have played it like that? I think he could’ve played it very close to like that. But I do agree that he would’ve appreciated the interpretation.
No way Bach would mix the piano so loud and the bass so low
Definitely not! 🤣
Not saying that’s not interesting or not good!
The original by Bach is better.
Bach was the most brilliant keyboard player of his time. He was more famous for his (inhuman) skills as a player than as a composer back then. He could do whatever he wanted.
The crispness of the dynamic contour blows my mind. Ear candy.
Oh gosh. There is joy in the world in these troubled times.
One of those moments where you work with background music, and you have to stop what you are doing, because it sounds so good, and you need to see who it is in order to find it again.
Wow! A great successor to Jacques Loussier! This will be on repeat for a while :)
Another one that thought he could improve on Bach...
Don't get me wrong, I find these attempts quite enjoyable, specially if I ignore their connection to Bach. (not really, maybe...)
@@edgarvalderrama1143I don’t think either felt they were improving the original work, they just provided their own interpretation. Imitation is the highest form of flattery, when not plagiarized, and this is far from plagiarizing
@@VikSun14618 Agreed.
Let's call this Staggering and be done with it .
Strongly influensed by Eugen Cicero and Hiromi Uehara... Brilliance!
Thnx you i fine Eugenio
Я поражена, оранжировка и исполнение на высшем уровне! Молодцы ребята ❤

Reminds me of the vocal group "Swingle Singers" in the early '60s...on Phillips vinyl if memory serves me. Bass, Drums, + two men, two women. Worth a listen. Their first album of Bach classics is their best IMO.
Right, and also the Modern Jazz Quartet!
Thanks so much for the recommendation!!!
Oh yeah. Now I totally hear it.
Highly recommend Eugene Cicero. He was the GOAT at this game…
I don't think they ever swung Bach's notes. I think their only addition was a syncopated bass line.
서울에도 꼭 와주세요!!! Hope to see these guys in Seoul Jazz Festival one day, soon or later..❤
Whoaaa.... My brain has stopped.... I can't find words to describe what I have just seen and heard. Masterpiece. Minimum.
Fabulous. Well played, guys. Good to see music is making a comeback.
I have hope because of The Consouls - they tap into the nostalgia of vgm (for the younger generation not me!) and amplify the jazz roots of much of the original (often 8-bit) tunes and the kids are eating it up while learning a love of jazz
@@cooldebt can you recommend some of their songs/covers?
You mean a comebach
@@a0shikin0a haha nice one!
Music never left, you should be more open to things you don't know, you'll see complexity and virtuosity even in some pop artists :)
Now, we all know why Johann Sebastian in the 17th century said : "I'll be Bach !"
Yes, but this piece is actually by his son😅
I was pleased with the sound recording quality , my thanks to the sound engineer !
100%
Nice and clear sound, although a bit too much on the piano.
SENSACIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@C.Renelle Balances seems decent enough to me. Listening in studio with Adam Audio monitors and through Beyer Dynamic DT 770 pro headphones.
@@C.Renelleimo I think it's on purpose, but yes maybe a little much. At least the piano sounds amazing
Unbelievable. Been playing piano all my life and this makes me realise i know nothing about it.
Jacques Loussier finally has a successor! 🎉
Love it! There are some Rachmaninov and Chopin taste in the second half, for me... Shigeru, + your touch, + and the complete sounding together All is good!
Luca Sestak Trio.wonderful very wonderful & beautiful.Congratulations.Forever always
Absolutely positively innovative and incredible 🎉 Finally a set of free thinking musicians😊 I am delighted! Bravo 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🫰🏽🫰🏽🫰🏽
Innovative? The Swingle Singers did it at least 50 years ago.
Bach would be so proud of you🥲
Господи!Как это прекрасно! Это настоящий Бах! Я счастлива,что услышала здесь настоящего Баха!❤❤❤
Yes!!! This is it! Jaques Loussier trio is back! I was waiting for someone to take Loussier-s legacy and keep it alive!!! Great, Great, Awesome!
Banging it a bit more than Loussier
@@franciscouderq1100 He is not Jacques Loussier you know. 😄
He’s better
@@johnransom1146 I can`t say that he is better, maybe more enthuziast and dynamic! I think that Loussier had a special feeling for music!
Sorry for Loussier, but this is some levels higher up
Amazing, you created Nikolai kapustin 😂
This made my day unforgettable. Bach is great in any form.
I like how you through some Rach (C#m prelude) in there. You guys sound great!
Fabulous musicians
Bass is way too quiet in the mix...
Yes i agree
Me too
And same for the drum
@@GrimbertOlivier agreed but not as quiet as the bass
Nah, try with better headphones
Bach will never leave us. His virtuous talent and genuis are immortal.
No other Bach
@@PixlyPenguin Yes, except this piece is not by Johann Sebastian Bach but by one of his sons, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. Another son, Johann Christian Bach, was also a successful composer. So there ARE other Bachs well worth admiring.
@@Kazoiks his sons were actually more famous when he was alive
I agreed with you fully!!!!! Besides His music Is a MUST in pianist study!!!!
Это не Иоганн Себастьян!
Bach is bebop with a different feel. Great playing! Nice and clear lines.
Bebop tells always a story and the saxophone is the prime tool. I hear no story from Luca Sestac. It´s primitive!
Talented guys, very nice, but the idea is not original. The real and unquestionable master of the genre is the late Jacques Louissier, who released "Play Bach No.1 (Decca SSL 40.500)", as early as 1959...
Your absolutely right I immediately thought of Jacques trio! That was Brilliant then, and to hear it from a new kid is amazing! ❤🎉
Damn! This sounds amazing, you guys killed it 🔥🔥
I first thought it was classical, then I thought it was jazz, but this is obviously science fiction. Let us find out which planet they are from.
"Трето направление", в изпълнение на високи професионалисти , е вълнуващо и почти винаги има силно емоционално въздействие!
Bach is shaking his head with a sweet smile wherever he was!
you guys reminded me to Jacques Loussier's Bach version!! so lively!! great job :D
Jacques Loussier looking on from Heaven.
Wow!!! Took me ages and ages to figure out how to play it on guitar.... straight.... the variations here are awesome! The cleaness from all 3 is amazing....
Outstanding interpretation. As I myself really enjoy classical music as well, this might be my new favorite mix of genres
I second that!
Outstanding, and inspiring, and reminds us that music should be learned through improvisation and not in any other way. Creating is the way music was meant to be shared. Thank you Luca.
He almost certainly learned classical repertoire very young before learning jazz, which is how most jazz pianists develop. Need to start young on classical technique for piano. I'm sure there are some teachers who introduce improvisation relatively early, but technique is first.
Durch Zufall über dieses Stück gestolpert hier auf RUclips. Wahnsinn! Wie toll und schön!
😍
Dazu ist der Junge auch noch deutscher ❤️
anyone know what sub genre this is???? I like this fast paced jazz piano stuff but don't know what it is called
Jacques Loussier would be so proud of you!!! Amazing work. Thank you.
かっこいい。
バッハとジャズ、どっちも好き。
テンション上がりました、ありがとうございます。
The spirit of Jacques Loussier lives on. Shame that we couldn't hear Brian Blessed's bass playing very well.
And don't forget also the same piece by Eugen Cicero, at least as brilliant.
LOUSSIER’S ALIVE!
Watch out for the Rachmaninoff quote (Prelude op.3 n.2) at 1:58!
서울에도 내한공연 꼭 왔으면 좋겠다

Ahhh yes, I wondered someone would pick up the mantle from the esteemed, late Jacques Loussier. I'm looking forward to hearing more of his work!
Bravissimo!!
Oh my goodness! I could hardly stay still!! Dope Everything!
Yes!! You have total Oscar P respect.
Bass is seriously muted.
Next level 1950s modern jazz. Keep up the swing and keep on dropping in the blue notes.
Stunning performance...¡¡¡😎😎😎
Greetings from Jaques Loussier
Yes. Why do the young ones play faster? They don't give us time to hear & enjoy.
Amazing. Your range of dynamics plus the precision and ingenuity of the variations are world-class. The shifts between styles are seamless and done with humor. Very unique trio, as far as I have found. Looking forward to seeing you on tour - I think you’ll be in SF at the Jazz Center in the Fall.
Amazing piece ❤️ just what the world needs ❤️
Beautiful. When I was a kid, my favorite jazz albums were of Jacques Loussier trio playing Bach.
Sounds like Eguan Cicero
I’m blown away- so perfect!🤩
Ай молодец! Какие глубины раскрылись в этом Сольфеджиетто! Вот что значит развитое воображение

Great redition of this song!!! Got goosebumps watching it🔥🔥
Magnificent
Stupendous
What talent
Indeed JS BACH must be very happy
Thank you !
Oh, yeah. Got your sophistication AND your bombast. Flying fingers of doom.
Very nice music. I also loved the room and the way the video has been shot, makes it all even more enjoyable.
Bravissimo !
la dinamica eccezzionale con la quali suoni questo pezzo è ammirevole!
I feel this score of solfeggietto is not yet listed in your web-store. Am I wrong?
Very nice performance, btw! Thx!!!
If there is any one that should be "Taylor Swift" famous for their talent, it is Luca. Think of all the hours and hours of hard work and dedication to his craft! Well done Maestro!!
I played this song at Carnegie hall and I just found this

Truly inspired! Sweet, powerful, articulate, moving, dynamic and fun!
I'm crying. Wonderful. Piano sound is also amazing.
1:41 It reminded me "Stiller Beobachter" by Kristjan Randalu, but more - "The Forgotten Village" by Shai Maestro, I don't know why. Yes, and "Procession" by Joel Lyssarides. This tender sound...
I’ve played the straight version. I’m humbled. You’re like, wow young man.
I'm fantasising about CPE sitting listening, and how he'd react.

INCREDIBLE! (I'll probably have something better to say once I get over this terrific performance! and listen again!)
Such a wonderful arrangement and playing! Bravo! Thank you for such a great performance. Is this arrangement available on sheet music?
Wonderful interpretation, from now on, you have one additional fan !!!
The skills are good. However - what theatrical pills did he take? Without the exaggerated theatrics and the enormous sensationalism, it could get really good music. No comparison with Jacques Loussier which had 100% skills, 100 % musicality and 0% artificial theatrics
Bach is rolling over in his grave, but laughing at the same time because he didn't know about jazz, but did use great sycopations. So ultimately Bach will have to come up OUT of his grave and experience modern music. LOL
Guys, thank you for the great rendition! More than of Jacques Loussier and his "Play Bach" trio your piano playing, Luca, reminds me of the great Eugen Cicero, his perfect technique and his entertaining improvisation style. Do you know him and his work?
Bravo Luca !!! Spettacolare ! Più la sento e più mi piace …. ❤
To my knowledge, Ahmad Jamal was the first jazz player to quote this C.P.E. Bach’s piece in the Awakening album.
Man this is louzier's Quality of bach jazz. Great Guys!
Loussier
Bach is undoubtedly the classical composer most easily transposed into Jazz versions, which was popularized by the Swingle Singers for 50 years. Beautiful interpretation, although I find the pianist a little too show-off…
Nice!!! Marty Sender You Tube
So many great ideas, packed in such a fast speed. Very talented players, but Id just slow down a bit to let us enjoy harmonic twists properly, not in a rush. Jazz pianist is probably light speed thinker, have a mercy on regular people:) slow down a bit😁 otherwise Bach is always fun to hear in arrangements. Great recording😁😉
So wonderful to see someone pick up and carry the torch from Jacques Louissier! Brilliant playing by all!
The only offering to improve the video would be to hear the bassist’s sound level lifted a bit. Thank you for this video.
Luca You re a genius of Jazz! You have immense talent! The music plays you ! It's the spirit of music !
Beautiful work, I was hoping to find something exactly like this. It would have been incredible if the drums went a little count Basie toward the end, for base some miles Davis with Bach to build a climax. It sounds great on my onyx 8 but I agree with the comments, the sound mixing needs a little tweaking. Fantastic work all the same.
all this is great, but I don’t understand why the master jumps like a monkey... classic is not just complex tablature, it’s a thought and a feeling. I don’t understand how you can play Bach in the style of a monkey wedding...
Jacques Loussier preceded you decades ago! I believe there are several videos of him playing Bach in a jazz format on RUclips.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacques_Loussier
Feels so faithful to how Bach would have written if he were in this style. Amazing
Nice ending ❤… if people like this check out Valeri Grohovski also for another nice Jacques Louissier-like Bach interpreter
I don't know why but at 2:20 it starts giving me Rachmaninoff - Prelude in C Sharp Minor vibes 😆
CAPO !!!!! MUY BUENO !!!!!! ME ENCANTÓ !!!!! EXQUISITO !!!!
