Yes sir thank you Shawn for starting my Saturday off awesome as soon as I m done watching your video I'm going DVD and blu ray hunting myself cheers buddy✌👍
I’m not sure if I should be picking up DVD’s I do have some in my collection from when I was little but I’ve never bought one I mainly have blu-rays and 4K. Should I also pick up DVD’s?
Found 32 total dvds and blurays last weekend at 8 different DTs, 13 at 5 diff goodwills, 5 at big lots and 5 more in the $5 bin at walmart. Went to my two nearest DTs after work last night and found 3 more dvds and 2 blurays. Went a week early last week when they had the solar stake lights and some of the stores had the movies out a week early and got lucky at the Montclair DT and found 20 there that day! Dollar tree time guys!
1/25/2020 Went to $ tree for paper towels and snacks and wham!--found the display in front. $20 later (minus the paper goods & chips) and I scored some neat stuff. I drew a crowd of people (mostly nosey, few buyers, never ran into any fellow collectors) which happens more often than not. Felt like Flynn @ his arcade playing Tron stand up video game and the crowd watching him run up the score.
@@coolduder WILD RIVER (KAZAN, drama), HEADSHOT, CHUCK NORRIS TRIPLE of MISSING IN ACTION (shout factory), CAPTAIN AMERICA double of the cult tv show/movie....
At 3:17 you passed “Bug” That movie is great! Best ever exploring random cause and effect. Every now and then when I’m having Chinese food and my girlfriend asks what my fortune cookie says, I tell her “Your girlfriend is lying to you”. Saw another copy at 5:42!
At 5:29 I think I saw Grizzly Adams. Great ‘70s TV show. If that’s what it was I’d have bought that in a heartbeat. Also saw The Sound Of Music just before. That’s a classic, a steal at $1.
Woohoo!!!! I went to my dollar tree yesterday and there were a bunch of titles that I skipped bc I was hoping you’d post a video with your thoughts!!! So I’ll be headed back out after this for sure. Happy Saturday Shawn!

Got quite the haul myself... The Blue Realm Cartoon Classics Collection TMNT (Blu-ray) BBC Extreme Dinosaurs Lego DC Super Heroes: Justice League Gotham City Breakout Splinter (Really cool horror film)
The Dollar Trees sometimes put them at the end of the holiday section (ex. Valentines Day) or on the end caps in the back of the store. You should ask them if they have them somewhere else other than the front. My Dollar Tree never puts a poster up so I just call around to try to find one that has DVD's. Some stores won't tell you because they don't want to get bombarded.
After watching you video I went to the local Dollar tree and found few blue rays not seen in your video Frank and Lola Night Moves Something Borrowed are few I picked up today
The "I don't know what DVDs and blurays are" thing reminded me of a conversation I overheard at a local Dollar General last year or the year before between a customer and the woman working the cash register. Apparently the customer had brought up how old maybe their grandkid was or something because the cashier dropped this bomb (mind you, everyone, she was completely serious): Cashier: How do you know how old a baby is? Customer: (Clearly awkwardly, she explains how you count from the day the baby is born) That still haunts me to this day.
Reminds me of the time I was purchasing a snack sized stick of cheese at QT and the cashier asked what it was. I said “it’s cheese”, and she looked completely confused. Everyone in line behind me laughed.
On Saturday, I bought the following Blu-rays: Spies of Warsaw, Focus, The Thompsons, The Judge, The Gallows, and Resident. Also, I got Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency: Season One on DVD.
I've bought almost 150 titles (around 40 were blurays) in the last 4 days, visiting around 6 locations! Lot of BBC titles! Lot of box sets too. Many of them with KMart stickers! Many of the titles were also ones that I've seen & wanted in many Dollar Tree haul videos that were not in my area during the Christmas hauls. The he didn't know what dvd & blurays comment was HILARIOUS....😂😂
I can't imagine calling my local Dollar Tree. Everyone that works there looks like they want to jump out a window. The newest one in my area took about 8 months to fall apart. I last visited a few weeks ago. Scored some British shows and an odd Shaw Brothers horror film on DVD plus a few Blu-rays. First good finds there in many months.
The people I see are similar. but you must consider - they work at a dollar store. I don't think they are given the highest wage. And they probably get people who ask a lot of questions just for a dollar. You would go crazy too.
Was able to get some KILLER Blu Rays and Box Sets from this Monthly Special. Just bummed out because each store did the specials on different weeks so I missed a ton. Oh well, that's part of the hunt
Was VERY fortunate to get Heroes Season 3 on Blu Ray as well as a Automobile DVD/Memorabilia box set. Best pickup by far was Rise of 300 on 3D Blu......my 1st 3D find after literally (20+) diff. trips (lol!!)
I feel the same about inherent vice. I've tried to watch it twice now and and both times I had to shut it off because I was so bored. I still don't know how it ends but I really couldn't care less.
Try it again, with fresh eyes and maybe at a time when you're most alert. I find movies to be a challenge when I don't get it or don't like after the 1st viewing. If this helps...Paul Thomas Anderson and Tarantino are close friends. They watch and talk movies all of the time. Paul's movie is a darker, stranger California movie about the same year, 1969. That is not a consequence. They say "3rd time is a charm".
I was able to come across two dvd's of two different anime films: Big Fish & Begonia (which feels like a hayao miyazaki ghibli type fantasy film) and In This Corner Of The World (which is an absolutely incredible world war ii story that takes place in Hiroshima, Japan.... phenomenal movie that has a lot of Grave of the Fireflies vibes from it and it also has absolutely stunning animation). I was shocked to find those two. Also picked up two films I never heard of but had good reviews online called "Kicks" and "Blame".
My sister asked a guy working in electronics at Wal-Mart where their CDs were (before digital files were the thing), and he replied "What's a CD?". So not entirely surprising- My guess is either he works multiple jobs & is really tired, or maybe phone issues, or he wasn't really listening because he could be one of those types that don't want to work but wants a paycheck...
Yeah brother I stop by one today picked up about three Blu-rays they had a lot of the ones that you showed in the video I’m down here in San Antonio Texas
