    Next time you go on a hike, take some wound patches (10-20 to be safe) with you and apply them directly on the skin right on where the blisters could appear, so that the friction will be transferred to the patch instead of the skin.
    Usually is the sweat who cause the friction and it's the friction that causes blisters, so it is important not to feel your feets hot and sweaty. It is a good idea also to use synthetic sport socks (not cotton who retains humidity) to keep sweat away from the skin. When is hot outside, use talc powder for your feets to escape from friction, vaseline for human use is also good.
    If you have waterproof boots, your feets can get too hot when it's over 25 degrees outside (depends on each person), because of the lack of air transfer. But they offer excelent protection in morning dew.
    Blisters aren't so common in cold season because of the lack of sweat.
    To help blisters heal quickly, use chamomille cream; also, bristles can be pierced with a seringe needle and the liquid drain away to reduce the pressure nearby. DO NOT CUT the excessive skin (skin underneath is wounded and needs protection), just do a small pierce or more and drain.
    Be sure that the sport shoes aren't too small for your feets, usually you need to have space to insert a finger between your feet and la back part of the shoe, usually the mountain shoes will be choosed with 1 unit bigger than usual ones. If it is so, then it's normal for the mountains shoes to be a little unconfortable during the first kilometers; rule of thumb says not to go to the mountains with new shoes.

      Woah! Thanks so much for all the info! We are going to be a lot more prepared for the next hike! We intend to do a few in south America shortly and hope we can get this blistering fixed before then! 😄

    Hi Jordan and Emily! I have hiked that same trail and I stayed at the Squamish Adventure Inn back in July 2019; it was awesome and it was some of the best times of my life going there. I am happy that both of you enjoyed hiking the trail and you celebrated with some great Canadian beer.
    Cheers from San Francisco California.

    Hi Jordan and Emily, what an awesome video of your Sea to Sky Hike in Squamish. Not only did you make it to the top, you videoed your hike as well. The views you saw of the mountains and waterfalls looked awesome on camera and it must have be even better, live. Really liked the idea of them building stair steps out of a long log, very creative. The ropes and chain looked like life savors to make it possible. The view from the Sky Bridge was awesome as well. Congratulations on making it to the top. I'm sure the beautiful views made it all worth it. Have to ask what time you made it to the top? Seems like you had time to relax and have a beer as well. Enjoy your 10 day house and pet sit.

    Excellent vlogs guys! Hiking in the snow is brutal. We made a vlog like this where we hiked Sugarloaf Mountain in Okanagan Valley and had a hell of an adventure constantly falling through the snow

    As an Australian as well I find that hikes in other countries take wayyy longer than I expect, when they’re up mountains at least. We’re not used to such steep hikes 😂 had a few close calls like this myself 😅
    Also snow makes everything take longer! Snow shoes or crampons are a must

      Glad we're not alone haha. Honestly usually we smash the estimated hike time in Australia. It just is not the case in Canada haha. Very true, snow could play a big role in that 😄

    I use to take hiking boots but not anymore. Too heavy and yes blisters and cumbersome in the luggage. Nikes for the win everywhere, even walked with them in Calgary when snowing. I will never go back to my merrell boots again. Also do you use a esim on your travels or buy a actual sim each country?

    • @JordanandEmily
      @JordanandEmily  Год назад

      Nike's feel so comfortable after the big hiking boots 😄 like walking on clouds!
      We haven't found a preferred esim yet but have our eyes out for something that will work with the budget!

    My cousin an extreme runner who's 62 runs the trails all through the mountains there as well as competing in the Corfu run in Greece, marathons don't even compare to what these nut cases do, hundreds of kilometers over a few days.
