Trimping Explained In 60 Seconds (TFConnect)

- I was asked to create a short video for the TFConnect charity event, so here's a very brief trimping tutorial.
This is by no means an advanced guide. If I went over everything, I'd be here all day. But if you're new to trimping... At least it covers the things you should know, starting off.
I have a fairly large script written down for a more advanced charging guide, and this will be the next project for me to tackle. Though you might remember that I had a very large video about the Tide Turner in the works. I was making this video on my old PC, so getting the project files working on the new PC is a pain that I want to save for some other time. Not to mention how overly complex it ended up being... I know LazyPurple's pain now.

it's how rocket jumping started back in quake days
Valve quite literally discovered 2 movement bugs and decided "yeah this should be in the game"
@@storyofsharplyon I suppose that there is heaps of bugs that worked in valves favour in tf2
Its more like an unintended feature because of how source works on a base level

You jest, but I have killed many players who did not know that the demoknight can press the space bar right before charging

Good stuff, I’ve been looking for Trimping tutorials but most the vids out there are “CHECK OUT THIS SECRET TRIMP SPOT”, not actually explaining why/how. Thanks for both the tips and trimps.
I just recently figured out how trimping works on my own, and for that week, I never had more fun playing tf2.

What helped me the most is forgetting EVERYTHING i learned about bunnyhopping. Just hold W and think of it like you are drifting a Car, the further you angle in, the more your trajectory follows.

first person i see where they actually go a little more in depth on how to do it instead of "you'll get the feel of it"

Wow! I've never heard your voice, it is pretty nice.
trimping is something that was really prevalent in Fortress Forever, however it's definition is totally different there. Essentially it was when you bunnyhop on a slope, your second jump has more vertical momentum and less horizontal momentum
Sounds bit like crouch hopping a downward slope in counter-strike games
With a title like this, I kinda expected Solar to just pull from GLADoS' book and just a 30 minute video at 30 times speed.

ah so THAT's how you charge up nearly straight walls
So what your saying is that I have been doing charges completely diffrently by mid air crouching (like you would explosive jumping) and charging, hitting a slope all this time while I dont have to crouch at all? That help alot knowing how to charge trimp better
